help with brigan's hideout in valley of dying things in Blades of Avernum

If you don't have a Mac or you're too cool to play in windowed mode, here are instructions:

1) Enter bandit hideout.
2) Continue along the only path you can, being shot at as you go.
3) Reach end; notice the only unobstructed way to continue is to go back outside.
4) Enter the small western side tunnel; the wall in your way is a secret door.
5) Pass through a similarly disguised door to the south.

I think that the "bug" might be that your shaper is arriving in the zone very close to the edge, and so when, for example, another creation moves to get in formation, your character is pushed back and into the edge of the zone.

It's not as if you'd let the party pick up the stew... right? I mean, they're not going to bag it and wander around with it, are they?

Unless you're saying that you'd like to contain things in the stew, as if you were hiding things in them. Like, say, a key. But what adventurer has time to pan through a pot of broth looking for rings and keys?

I had that problem when I entered town from the west, but not any other direction. I've already given up, though; I'm not redownloading that game, even if I can play around the bug.

Moral of story: don't enter town from west.

Aha! You have failed, imitator! Nobody except Alorael can keep it up forever.

And yes, he is indeed saying that. Although in MagmaDragoon's case, can't you just copy the registered game's preferences file over the unregistered game's file? I thought that stored the code and registration number?

You're really stretching it when you say that this board has requested assistance. As well as saying the annexation was invited. I only played SubTerra for a few minutes.

Unless I've misunderstood SoT and have granted myself much more importance in this whole deal than I really have.

If you tell us exactly what you want to edit and a point in the game where it occurs, some of the BoA designers could at least try to help you. But there's really no step-by-step guide to editing things in general.

Demons or not? in Blades of Avernum

If someone classifies efreeti as demons, it's probably because of propaganda and the interpretation of all Middle-Eastern mythological creatures as "demons" by people who were less than informed.

Now for the Rakshasa... Since TM has based work on the subject, I'm happy enough to not care in this medium(BoX). However, in the original myths they are tiger-demons.

This is sort of a character/semi-plot suggestion more than a town design suggestion, but only barely.

Anyways, not all people in town are inn keepers and fletchers. Some are physicians (not healers). Some are retired; some are barbers; some are actors; some are furniture makers; some are rug salesmen. The list goes on and on.

Not all characters have to sell something; however, it's still a good idea if they at least have something relevant to say to the party.

EDIT: Just thought of something else. The commerce centers of most modern cities are grouped closely. Usually, they're all trying to get as much visibility as possible. Place shops close together and near a high-trafficed area; major intersections and the centers of town, for example, should probably hold a decent number of shops.

Done? Ok. The isolated hut in A2 (near the Motrax hospital cave) is a safe house for Ethridge and Tori. Sun symbol with a circular rainbow around it adorns the doorway. One bed, if you were curious or slow.

The nameless mage is the start of an artifact quest. I believe it was the Ring of Endless Magery, although I'm not sure.

The guy who was looking for the nameless mage was a woman, actually. She wanted to become more powerful and so she was hoping the nameless mage would teach her. She's not very helpful, though; she keeps on quoting the mage as a way to avoid actually talking to you.

Anyway, that's who I think you're talking about. You're kind hard to understand, Capt. Obvious.

In your sig, you have the "http://" part stuck in twice. Every time I try to follow the unaltered link, Microsoft reroutes it to their site and tries to sell me some filth.

EDIT: For rating MoC. Not actually downloading them.

Also, each building doesn't have to be the a square or rectangle. For example, buildings in the town of Sweetgrove have a circular (or octogonal, depending on your imagination) shape. There are enough ways to design buildings to keep you from reusing ideas (at least in a short scenario).

We cannot continue to fill the emotional void your parents left by not constructively critiscising you or punishing you for acting out. If you are starved for attention, work it out with them. Stop trying to "rebel" by spelling badly and starting stupid threads.

EDIT: I know people with the same problem. I dislike them as well.

Okay, here's the complete sequence of relevant events:

1) This topic is started.
2) A pointless duplicate topic is started.
3) Inthrall, in this topic, referrs all posters to this topic.
4) chico posts in this topic anyway, disregarding Inthrall's post.
5) chico starts this topic.

So as I see it, there's really no stopping him.

Just a suggestion adding combat- we already have a boar graphic, why not use a slight modification? You don't have to stick straight to the legend of Thesus, you know. And then you can just plop them in certain areas.

As for a minotaur graphic, you could blow up and add horns to this graphic. It might need to be tinted red, but that's easy.

I mean, the word would mean, "relating to ballistas," which is not quite as general as "ballistic" in English, which is why the first translation is preferable.

Oh yeah... I forgot about the ballista. All I could think of was modern ballistics. I even checked Wikipedia to make sure I hadn't missed something.

Anyway, shouldn't it be ballisticus?

No, not really. I know I'm 14-16 but not 12-14 because it's getting pretty close to my birthday (and so in this case, my age could be closest rounded to 15, not 13).
