This conversation has firmly reinforced my decision to pray only to Posideon. Quite frankly the rest of the faiths are a bit of a conceptual stretch, and with accrued benefits only payable at the time of death, and the current rate of inflation surpassing the rate of accrual, it is in my best interests now, and in the future, to demand benefits in a more timely manner. Thank you. -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

Really, any question you may have that is not directly related to Spiderweb Software has been answered on the Simpsons. Usually by Homer J. -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

It never hurts to ask the man himself. Shoot Jeff an email (spidweb at spiderwebsoftware.com) asking him if that is possible. It is likely that he will say yes, and ask that you download the three demo copies, provide him with the three registration codes, and he will charge your card and give you the three keys. Try to remember to ask for the character editor keys as well, I forget that part. Edit- Comedy Central must have run out of programming, since Jeff is roaming the boards looking for fresh victims. Jump up and down and scream at him and he may notice this thread. TM -I realize that you don't follow the television as much as some, but it may be cleverer(er) to use the custom title of Homer J Simpson to denote the viscosity or vacuousity of the intended recipient. /signed/ your humble servant -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

Shame on you Thuryl. According to the official web ordering place for Spiderweb Software, the Exile Trilogy costs $25, and the hint book set for the Trilogy costs $15. There is a shipping gratuity, and likely taxes if you live in an oppressive state. Edit - I got carried away and put a smiley in my post. I apologize and have removed the offending character. Flagellation will commence forthwith. [ Wednesday, May 31, 2006 23:04: Message edited by: Indifferent Salmon ] -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

quote:Alorael, if I may extend this line of thought. It isn't particularly unusual to mutate. What is unusual is to mutate in a manner which gives an unusual competitive reproductive advantage. The most obvious advantage would be survival to the appropriate age class. The mutation which allows digestion of blue-green algae may become useful, but is not likely to become standard human genetic material any time soon. My new opinion on religion : Don't. -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

Well done? I've been tempted to generate a ratio of useless to useful posts, but it always gets changed. You, though, seem to err on the side of amusing when confronted with a choice. quote:It is where quite a few systems of governance came from, originally. It is impossible to accurately define human nature for humankind, but it is always possible to have 95% accuracy with wildly disparate results. Thus the many forms of democratic government in ancient Greece. It is far, far easier to look back at failed attempts and criticize than it has ever been to imagine something that should work, and actually make it happen. Marx saw a problem (oppressive work environment and bosses) and created a solution that was actually able to be implemented. True, it failed because it overlooked a part of human nature (incessant greed), but it might have worked otherwise. Anyone catch the time that Ed clocked out this time? I showed him clocking about 24 hours ago. Also, if you're watching this, I don't have anything against you on a personal level Ed. Just don't violate the Code of Conduct and we're cool. And next time, don't put "Eddie Carr" as your real name in your profile. Note - this is in reply to a PM. -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

If you can get out of the town part of the tower, and back to the outdoors, the exit gate is to the south. Just start banging against things until you get out. Edit - Having read (not re-read) your post, I think you need to work towards getting out of the town part of the tower to the east rather than the south. Also, you can walk around on the ledge that runs along the southern corridor. It is easily accessible, but the way walls are drawn does obscure it. Again, this stuff is more visible if you use the editor to look at the scenario. I like how you compared religions to things like pigeons and hats. Edit- Let's pretend that this was a very insightful and long post. And then it was tightened up by the editors. It's like "make-believe." [ Monday, May 29, 2006 23:23: Message edited by: Indifferent Salmon ] -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

My understanding is that "religion" is a codified belief system. The rules and such can be written down and geographically distant people can both practice the same religion if they are abiding by the same rule set. As such, athiesm and agnostism do not fall into the category of religion. Unless the rules are the definition of the words. My 2 cents. Ignore the fact that this has been marked as edited. There is no yellow Police tape. Carry on. [ Monday, May 29, 2006 23:13: Message edited by: Indifferent Salmon ] -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

1) Delete the scenario. 2) Delete the compressed scenario file. 3) Repeat. Not being snide, just helpful. You will be much more satisfied if you stop now, before the real frustration begins. -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |
