Fascinating. I'm up to 30th from 54th. I makes me feel like I have emerged from a previously microscopic state. -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. Posts: 344 | Registered: Friday, February 25 2005 08:00 |

quote:Sounds more like something that Alorael would pick up on. Anyway, as far as random stunts go, I tend to slaughter one town per game. It usually occurs when their leader says something incredibly immoral, like sending me to kill the leader of the Awakened in G1. After smiting him I have to fight the whole town. I did this in the Taker's city in G1, but managed to take out the leader of the Obeyers without getting caught. In G2, I fought all of the Obeyers, but managed to take out the top Takers without getting caught. A similar eventuality in G3 with the Loyalist/Obeyers. In G4... nothing quite as major. I didn't really listen to the Shapers at all, and as such didn't end up killing off whole towns. I did, however, manage to kill of both of the Wingbolts in the Shaper keep, and gather the items the were gaurding, my first time in the keep. -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. Out of control? I think not. All you need to do is watch Cheney during the State of the Union to know who the real power in the U.S. is. I am tempted to buy Bush a little hat, like the ones the give trained monkeys. Also, traditional bartering methods: You say 20,000; they say 0, you meet in the middle at 10,000. Bush still gets troups in Iraq. -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. Posts: 344 | Registered: Friday, February 25 2005 08:00 |

Now, I have a few questions. First off, are the rest of us (the ones no one has actually heard of) go ahead and claim tiny states which also are rarely heard from? If so, do they have to be independent nations, or can they be backwater territories? All the good islands in the north seemed to be owned by either the United States, Russia, or Canada (with the notable exeptions of Svalbard and Greenland). Edit: What about the Balkans? There's a great many countries in Eastern Europe unaccounted for, which seem to shift about any time there's a war. I would much rather be Montenegro than some flyspeck island. If I can not exist on a real level, I call the Republic of San Lorenzo. [ Friday, January 26, 2007 07:27: Message edited by: Cirion Actaeon ] -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. There's an interesting force known as the Storm Tropper effect. It states that the likelyhood of any one soldier to hit anything is directly inverse to the number of good guys present. The official version counts Jedi into the equation, but I doubt that will be necessary in Iraq. Regardless, I agree that anyone familliar with the Star Wars movies would actually be less frightened at the Storm Trooper similarity. Better to provide the enemy with copies of Halo, or to just let the suit be menacing on its own. -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. The real question is when it will be made available to the public. Even if its black market, a $2000 suit of armor would open to a large market. No need to carry a pistol in your purse if you can wear a military grade suit around, even if it only protects against small arms. -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. I am currently 16 years of age, with my next birthday in July. Apparently, that places me among the younger members, though not the youngest. I was 14 when I joined. By "pads the stats", I assume you mean that it assists their overall post count. I assumed as much, but it does nothing to make it more logical. If anything, the irony is greater. (The question is, if posting about post count is ironic, what about posting about the irony of posting about post count?) -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. Does accusing the entire board system of containing a conspiracy count against the faulty accusation one? What if I'm right? Then it wouldn't be faulty, but it could bring the whole system crumbling down around us! -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. For anyone who still failed to get the joke, the individual in question was trying the translate the word "die" (the command to undergo death), but got the word for "die" (the singular of dice). I apologize. Of course there is no conspiracy. Anyone who is concerned, please avoid delving any deeper into the matter. For those of you who presented the evidence against my foolish accusation, I would like to remind you that we are out of badgers, and will have to substitute with wolverines. Every where I look, there are signs of it. This entire forum is hiding something sinister. It could be something the Freemasons are up to, or even bigger. All I can say is that it is not hard to imagine a Bondesque scene in which one member of the order meets another, and uses code words to get their identity across. "You wouldn't happen to have any Skribbane?" "No, the fluffy turtles and the GIFTs took it all." -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. Why yes, time travel is dangerous. That's ssuming that any changes you made would cause you to end up in a slightly different future, rather than the old one you came from. In addition to the Butterfly Effect, there are a variety of famous paradoxes associated with time travel. Luckily, we currently have no way of successfully doing so. -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. Posts: 344 | Registered: Friday, February 25 2005 08:00 |

Yes, that was definately bad phrasing. The great majority of theories in this regard disagree with that. I meant, simply, that even if "Time Machine" hasn't been released yet, it has been developed, and thus, if it worked as an actual Space/Time transport, rather than simply a system to back up your files, it would be possible to deliver a copy to the past. I am sure some sort of restrictions would be put in place, though. Apple police roaming time... -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. I am aware that 10.5 isn't out yet. I simply seem to recollect that, in the keynote presentation about Leopard, a program called Time Machine was introuduced. Having located it on Apple.com as well, I can only assume that you were merely mocking my choice to use present tense for its existance. Technically, a time machine would exist at all times... -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. Posts: 344 | Registered: Friday, February 25 2005 08:00 |

I was playing a lifecrafter on normal. I took the time, however, to try to clear out the upper fens before attempting to fight Monarch. As a result, I was higher level, and had two Drayks. I came in the backway, cleared out his appartments, turned of the defenses, and came out him from behind with my serviles out of the way. It was actually one of the easier fights in the fens. -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. Posts: 344 | Registered: Friday, February 25 2005 08:00 |
