I see. All of his recent posts seem to be in Blades of Avernum (except for a few in General), which would account for my failure to take large note of his presence.

I believe that control clicking on an the item's icon should give a run down of the item, but I thought that that was always the case, so if something changed...

(Edit: Changed "option" to "control")

I wasn't going to mention Imban, since you had already named him as being the primary entity on the boards. As for Zxquez, I have actually been hanging around in the corner for nearly two years, and have no memory of any such person. As such, I must assume that he was before my time, at least under that name. In order to figure out who is actually controlling my posting, I will have to do some research as to who tends to post in a similar manner to me... who's not another Newbie. Any ideas?

Or all three (Tyran as an adbot, using member number 10000). It remains a mystery to me hoow many accounts some of you have. I begin to imagine that the bored really has no where near as many people as I once thought, and that Arancaytar, Tyranicus, Alorael, and Thuryl are really the only entities on the boards. But I promised that I was done with conspiracy theories, so I'll be on my way...

I assumed Magma Dragoon left simply because discussions about Geneforge waned after nearly every Mac user who intended to purchase it had played it through. Previous to my recent interest in the General section of the forums, I really only posted when G3 and G4 came out. I assumed it was a common phenomenon.

They are afraid that they will be sucked into a never ending cycle of insanity, posting their lives away. It seems like a reasonable thing to fear.

Sadly, number 666 has only made two posts. I must, thus, assume that the idea of snagging the best numbers must have come about sometime after 1000. Oddly, most of the big posters don't seem to have such special numbers. Even when they snag one (Such as Tyranicus' 7000), they don't seem to use it. What, then, is the purpose of such an action?

But neither have they posted anything. I doubt he/she even knows we are talking about him/her.

Edit: Upon taking a look at member 7,000, I noticed something interesting. Although this individual has a mere 98 posts (still higher than mine, sadly), the picture, AIM, and Homepage seemed rather familliar. Almost as though someone with a much lower number had attempted to attain that spot at the last minute... Pure fancy of course. I've given up on my conspiracy theories.

Why, yes, of course. I should have thought of recommending obtaining a free copy of Photoshop on a public forum.

Apparently, as of this morning, there are now 8000+ users in the boards. I was simply curious whether this constitutes an celebration/torment of the new arrivals.

(Edit: Does this mean we won't have 6 more weeks of winter?)

Its not that its all that bad. There's a kind of horror, however, that slowly creeps up on you, and infects unusual moments of your life. When you feel the urge to respond to something with the phrase "Oh, the Mirth!", you will understand what I mean. Thankfully, #1 and -1 are not nearly as bad as -2, so there's no where to go but up.

There's a reason why most pros use Photoshop... I find it to be the best program I've come into contact with. If you meant for free... I'm not sure. I worked with the Gimp for a bit, and it compared poorly with Photoshop, but I don't know how its stacks up against other Freeware programs.

1. Aran took care of the size. A good thing, too, because I'm not willing to wait 30 seconds a piece for that many comics.

2. What is this thing against cats? Everyone knows they are the superior race. Dogs are too loyal and dumb, they fail to compare.

I feel far too young... I've been in contact with computers as long as I can remember, but the first computer we owned that I actually can actually recollect the name of was an LC III. It actually took normal floppies, and ran Quark, so I suppose that that puts me firmly in the modern era.

But that's only by losers in the mid-7000s. And they don't matter. At all.

I am sure that the sub-thousand users (as well as 1k, 2k, 3k, & 4k), could say the same of those in the 5k's. After all, we didn't come on the scene till a mere 2 or 3 years ago.

I am... somewhat hesitant to post the next item that came to mind in the genre of random wierdness. I belive it eclipses most of what I saw before it, and I do not believe anybody posted it yet. Technically, it is part 3 in a series, but it the first chronologically. I will warn everyone that it contains themes that would disturb most adults, and may give you nightmares for the rest of your life. I am pretty sure audiences under the age of 18 should not view this video. I certainly wish I had not.
Here it is, all the same.

Although I never participated in said thread, I must agree that there is very little to be said of music written after 1980. You will note that the following expanded list of my musical interest still fails to capture many artists from that era.
In addition to Pink Floyd, Bach (JS), Jethro Tull, Neil Young, Debussy, and Tchaikovsky; I also enjoy Paul Simon, Santana, Beethoven, Zeppelin, and The Beatles. Also, some pieces from Springsteen, Queen, Brahms, Chopin, Brubeck, Gershwin, Dire Straits, ZZ Top, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Howard Shore, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Clapton, and Rachmaninoff.

Artists: Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Neil Young, Bach, Debussy, Tchaikovsky

Obviously, these fall pretty neatly into two categories: Classical and Classic Rock. It is not that my interest is actually that narrow, its just that those are those that stand out.

Actually, he is plural. His true title is "Upon Mar". He only becomes "Upon Mars" because there's two of him. By "Mar", he is obviously refering to the ISO code for Morocco.

At some point, someone is going to use the "meta" prefix one too many times, and mass insanity will ensue. More than usual. Either that, or it will just circulate to such a degree, that soon concepts will include 3 or 4 "meta-" prefixes before you can actually state what you are talking about. This post, for example, constitutes meta-meta-meta spam.

Edit: Forgot to get rid of the picture. Seemed a bit redundant.

A better question is to list as many reasons as you can think of why those answers would be wrong for any realistic scenario.

I quite agree. Although the question, as phrased, is more or less elementary (meaning that the average U.S. high school student has at least seen such a thing before graduating), any comprable real life event would be full of issues that would make it a nighmare to predict.
This, in fact, is my real problem with this kind of physics. Sometimes, when given such a question, I choose to answer it by including friction, air resistance, fluctuations in gravity based on altitude, flaws in the spring, and the possibility of a vacuum metastability event occuring part way through.

Selling Items in Geneforge Series

If you are using an older Geneforge (1&2, I think), there should be a button on the item icon which looks like three coins. Clicking on this will allow you to sell. If the icon is representing more than one item, there will be a prompt asking how many you want to sell.
