I can't imagine anything with sentience would post such a thing. Perhaps its a bad translation using an online translator, or a bot. Edit: Upon looking at his details, it became obvious that the issue here is language. Obviously, the sentience is there, just not coming through well. "Peryui" showed one one result in Google, so I assume its either slang or a misspelling. It didn't translate when I tried it in a couple of online translators. I made the graph as a rough visualization of what I thought would make sense. My y axis did not refer simply to self shaping, but also included the extreme for the Trakovites. I am entirely willing to admit that it is severely flawed, and I am willing to provide the blank graph if anyone would like to edit it. quote:Oh dear. This could be interpreted by many desperate Geneforge addicts to be a sign that Jeff may be easing toward the idea of a Blades of Geneforge game. Someone link to a page where he denies it completely, before things get out of hand! Also, although I do not know what vld was considering for G6, but I would think, if it ever got that far, that a prequel might be nice. Something to do with the discovery of shaping. Personally, though, I will be quite satisfied if Geneforge ends in number five, even relieved. quote:I honestly never thought that he/she was a bot, but I understood the possible reasons why someone might have made that mistake, and given an unsellable trowel. The temptation would be particularly overwhelming, given that the sites name is "Digg". (Yes, I had heard of it, I even use it on occasion, but even big sites still sometimes use bots/spam.) There was something else... Oh, yes. Welcome to the Spiderweb Software forums. The fluffy turtles will be with you shortly. Edit: I am sorry to hear that Alorael will no longer be funny. I seem to have missed the times that he was... [ Monday, February 12, 2007 08:47: Message edited by: Cirion Actaeon ] -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. Very well. Although I never intended it to be more than a sample, here's a newer version: Edit: You'll find my opinion around (3,-2). I'm pretty sure the response proves its not a bot (but still and it because we have no dehumanizing gender neutral pronoun). The first post, though, could have been the work of an intellegent bot. The fact that it was a first post pointed to bot, the fact that it was actually on topic pointed to human or smart bot (I know... an oxymoron). So it equaled out. I do hate bots, though... Peakware was full of them when I worked cleaning out the Summit Logs. -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. Posts: 344 | Registered: Friday, February 25 2005 08:00 |

It's very odd... Nothing seems to fit. He/she used the term "pcc" twice, so it wasn't a typo, and neither was his c button broken, because all of the rest are fine. So we must assume we have no idea what he/she are talking about. -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. Posts: 344 | Registered: Friday, February 25 2005 08:00 |

I quite agree with Nikki and Dikiyoba. I am halfway between the Awakened and the Trakovites. I also support the concept of a test, though I'm not sure it would be possible to get a clear result without a few directly Geneforge based questions. Edit: Also, I agree with Alorael in regards to the method of graphing. It seems, given that we are dealing with two spectra, that a traditional X/Y graph might be an order. There could be some debate as to what the origin meant, and what the extremes were, but perhaps it would look something like this: I figured that the top meant absolute, anything goes shaping, whereas the bottom was an absolute ban. The right was pro creation rights to the point of demaning compensation (Taker style), but I assumed that the origin would still be pretty mid range. Far left supported keeping creations as absolute slaves. Although the left/right dynamic seems a little skewed from a political perspective, it makes sense for a graph. (Also, I didn't know where to put the Trakovites for creation rights. They seem to support creation rights, but don't seem to have a plan for what to do with already shaped people/things. They're mispositioned, but the graph was only meant to be an example, anyway.) I came back to Spiderweb to download Geneforge 2, only to find that Geneforge 3 was in the works. I made a brief appearance each time a new game came out (only really three times, but still...), and was unwilling to leave after G4, finding that my personality was quite congruent with the discussion in the General Forum. -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. quote:I have a terrible admission to make. I used the "give a snack" cheat on this one, just to save time. The only way I could think of alleviating my guilt was to find another piece later, and place it next to him, amounting to the same amount of work at a different time. That didn't work, so I suppose the mockery of my peers will have to do. Edit: More applicable quote. What do you call a woman with one leg longer than the other? Eileen. What about if she's Japanese? Irene. What about a man with no arms and no legs in a hot tub? Stew. In a swimming pool? Bob. My school is too small for a marching band, and I wouldn't have the skill to be in it, anyway. As such, I must be the very lowest of the low, if the marching banders are mocked. Not that the mockery is coming from anyplace... accredited. -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. Posts: 344 | Registered: Friday, February 25 2005 08:00 |

The Pope flies into LA for a conference and is picked up by a limo at the terminal. The driver asks His Holiness there is anything he could do to make him more comfortable, and the Pope responds with a request. Apparently, His Holiness has not had the opportunity to drive himself for a long period of time, and would like to experience the thrill once again. The chauffeur, being a devout Catholic, makes no argument. They switch spots, and soon the Pope (being, of course, an Italian) is cruising along the highway through the Valley at 95 mph. And, of course, he gets pulled over by a motorcycle cop. The cop takes one look at the Pope, walks back to the motorcycle and gets on the radio with the chief. "Chief, I've got a huge problem here. I've just pulled over someone who's EXTREMELY important and I'm not sure what to do." The chief, used to such comments by rookie cops, responds that celbrities must be treated like any other criminals. To this, the cop responds, "I don't think this person really counts in the genre of celbrities. He's a bit more important than that." The chief, seeming a bit annoyed, retorts, "Politicians fall under the same rule, be it the governor or even the president." The cop responds, "No sir, I think he's even more important than the president." The chief, abosoultly confused by now, asks who might be more important than the President of the United States. The cop thinks about this for a second before saying, "I'm not entirely sure, sir, but he's got the Pope for a chauffeur.' Very sad... First I heard about it. Perhaps that's because I get all my news from local papers, wikinews, and google. The latter two don't tend to headline that kind of thing, and the only person to get attention in the Roaring Fork Valley was Hunter Thompson... perhaps because he did himself in his home in Aspen. -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est.
