I consider myself a Pagan, with elements of Bokononism. This may seem like an attempt to mock the concept of theism, rather than expressing my true beliefs, but honestly, the combination captures my outlook as well as can be expected without an extremely long rant. -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. Photoshop provides a satisfactory illustration, however. Here's about what you would see: Edit: Changed the picture to Geneforge. I learned the white on black trick a while back. I prefer, however, the keyboard shortcut that does the same, but keeps colour. Essentially, everything looks like a colour negative. It's rather amusing to casual walk by a computer, type Control Alt Apple 8, and watch the owner try to correct it. Sometimes, though, it only goes to white on black. Still, fun. -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. Posts: 344 | Registered: Friday, February 25 2005 08:00 |

Why did I always assume that the three canister version of the Ornk would be an Oozebeast? It would be a darn useful creation, much better than Pyroroamers. -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. Posts: 344 | Registered: Friday, February 25 2005 08:00 |

quote:I wasn't attempting to imply that it was you that made the mistake. I meant simply, and perhaps undeservedly, that the individual who did create the boards (I was aware that you are not this person) had made the very mistake you intended to correct: letting just anyone be a mod. Next time, I will make sure to clarify, just to make sure the point is fully intact when it reaches you. -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. I seem to remember Diki having something to say about topics named after Spiderweb members. If it weren't for the recent prune, I'd go back and quote it. The general opinion was negative, regardless. -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. Posts: 344 | Registered: Friday, February 25 2005 08:00 |

"Perhaps I could start a forum... Wait, no. That's not a good idea. I don't have anything special to add to it, and there's millions already out there, dozens devoted to Spiderweb." See how easy that was? I understand that you didn't start it, but given the prolific nature of your modship, you might as well have. -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. I've always lived in Colorado, Muffin. However, the blizzard of '03 didn't really effect the part of the Western Slope where I live (near Glenwood Springs, if you know the area at all), so it didn't really effect me in the same way that the Storm King and Coal Seam fires did. -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. There seems to be a great deal of discussion about floods. I suppose I should be thankful, since it would be bordering on impossible to flood my area. However, the very real presence of drought seems a poor replacement. -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. Posts: 344 | Registered: Friday, February 25 2005 08:00 |

Western Colorado is not prone to disasters: we've got a few wildfires (like those currently raging not 30 miles from where I sit), rockslides and avalanches, and the occasional blizzard. Looking for a little perspective, I was hoping to open the conversations on natural disasters and their variance by local. Anyone have any good stories? -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. Posts: 344 | Registered: Friday, February 25 2005 08:00 |

Fine. I suppose there are worse ways to go. I did sort of like the idea of ending with one of those Terregen sunset pics though. So, the other topics were spam, but this one... it's allowed to exist. Sad to think that the final post in the Richard White Games forum might be part of a flame war against nectarines. Oh well. Such is Spiderweb. -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. Posts: 344 | Registered: Friday, February 25 2005 08:00 |

Very true. Where would Spiderweb be without Iffy? Edit: On second thought, please don't answer that. [ Tuesday, June 19, 2007 13:13: Message edited by: Actaeon ] -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. Posts: 344 | Registered: Friday, February 25 2005 08:00 |

Names mean little, particularly obvious ones. When I first came to Spiderweb, I went by Mark Greenwood. Obviously, I didn't take credit for the naming of Greenwood Island in G3. -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. Posts: 344 | Registered: Friday, February 25 2005 08:00 |

Am I correct in surmising that the idea you're making reference to entails attempts to make the last post in this forum? I imagine that such a competition would result in such a landslide of posts that the UBB would have the greatest meltdown of all time. I'm satisfied with having at least posted here. -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. Posts: 344 | Registered: Friday, February 25 2005 08:00 |

I'm sure Aran will sue me for copywrite infringement, but I would also like to pay my respects. And given that the best item I have to do so is a Terragen shot of a sunset... Oh well. So who got 9000? Tyran? An Aran clone? I guess we're all waiting for the big prize: 10,000. Given that we hit 8000 on groundhog's day, I'm betting we get there by Thanksgiving, particularly if Jeff puts out a new game by that time. Edit: IFM's an 8000. Does anybody find it hard to believe that, when I posted about the switch-over back in early February, he wasn't even a member? And just look at him now <moderate sarcasm/>. I posted myself as 17. Technically, I'm 16 'til July 9, but I feel that rounding up is acceptable. Edit: Appropriate use of numerals. 194! Hazzah! Actually, when your post count is low enough that an interstate exists for that number, celebration is not really an order. IBTL -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. Posts: 344 | Registered: Friday, February 25 2005 08:00 |
