The Mongol Empire The largest contiguous land empire in history. Ruled by one Genghis Khan in the early part of the thirteenth century, owing to his sucess at slaughtering 30 million people, only some of which actually attempted to fight him. At its peak, after Khan's death, the empire was home to more than 100 million people, and covered a total area of more than 30 million kilometres. -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. Apparently, WizWebPost is desperate for clients. For more information, see the soon-to-be-locked topic currently near the top of the forum titled "An Excellent Webhosting Services! ". In case the obvious shift from singular to plural in the title didn't give it a way... we have another bot. -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. Oooo... Creepy! What irony! Usually, we see the bots, and we simply hate them. This time, its advertising something that was requested in a post less than 5 lines below it. Either bots are getting smarter, or cooincidences are getting more amusing. The latter is not unlikely given my sleep deprived state... -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. I am recovering from a rather debilitating cold. My sympathy is upon anyone with any form of disease, although those that disallow sleep seem to be the worst... That causes me to loose all sense of sanity, as if the fluffy turtles weren't bad enough. -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. Glad to hear that the internet has not totally given way to the bastardized forms of English that seem to be getting so common. I comprehended the nature of that post to some degree, but felt the urge to mention conventions as being a nice aspect of this board, even if it's not alone. Edit: Proved how the internet had effected me. [ Tuesday, February 06, 2007 14:50: Message edited by: Cirion Actaeon ] -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. Actually, if you put store in such things... From what I've seen, I would not be at all suprised to discover that the Spiderweb Software forums have a higher percentage of high IQ individuals than most other places on the internet. Conversation seems intellegent, conventions well met, and most points are backed up with an impressive amount of fact and knowledge. Too bad about the insanity that seems to accompany all of that. -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. Posts: 344 | Registered: Friday, February 25 2005 08:00 |

Oh my. Now, on my hundreth post, I have truly proved my newbie tendencies. I tried to edit, and ended up quoting... Wow. Anyway, I will now take this opportunity to change what amounts to a double post into a warning. 30 posts in your first day is not necessarily good. Even the greats (who I choose not to name, for fear of including someone odd, or forgetting someone), rarely post more than 10 times a day. This is because most people don't have 10 concise, important statements in that time. Sure, everyone spams a bit here and there, but 30 is just getting a little suspicious. I, personally, hide all my spamming by putting it all in one very long post. I would assume that, if Nayld is considered a newbie, that anyone with posts still in the double digits is not even considered as an entity. So, don't get your hopes up. On the bright side, you could perhaps get in as a villian if you became the next Arrrrgh (spelling?), and flooded the forums with more spam than all of the rest of us sub-newbies combined. Edit: Proved my Newbieness by actually managing to spell Nalyd's name wrong. Next, when I use the term "Aloreal", I will be smashed. Please forgive me. (No I didn't change arghhhhhh, simply because the embaressment of my accidental quote/edit incident has driven me off in shame.) I used to have trouble with two button mice. Then, I downloaded a freeware program from vaticancity.com, and it went right to work with the candles and salt. I couldn't find it the last time I checked, but it was called macpreist 1.2 or something like that. Perhaps its still around somewhere. -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. You know, its threads like this that make me feel slightly less like an imbecilian newbie, secure in the knowledge that an absolute faux pas would result in absolute retrobution rather than quiet amusement. -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. I suppose that it would be appropriate to wish you a happy birthday... And provide a cake as well. However, I am pretty sure that every cake image on the known internet has been used in these forums by now. So... happy birthday. quote:You made a new topic. Because it did not have the potential for a truly stimulating topic, it degenerated into something else. Even those with potential eventually degenerate. I'm afraid it just can't be helped. For my two cents, I must simply ask whether the reigning elite of the boards are those with massive post rankings (making Alo the ruling tyrant), the mods with the most privlages (DV seems to quite a few privaledges, but obviously Jeff would be the top of that pyramid), or simply those that have been here the longest? I would assume the latter, simply because of all these rumours about Tyran doing something sinister for his number. Such a thing wouldn't occur if it didn't have value. -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. Posts: 344 | Registered: Friday, February 25 2005 08:00 |

All aspects were Nerdy... It is the typical name of my charector in any game (D&D, Geneforge, whatever). Its a combination of Cirion, the Ruling Steward of Gondor during the time of Eorl the Young, and Actaeon, an unfortunate hunter in the greek myths, who was transformed into a deer by Artemis. I now will now pause for the mockery. -------------------- Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est. Posts: 344 | Registered: Friday, February 25 2005 08:00 |
