I'm going to burn in some sort of underworld for starting a topic like this on Facebook. In my defense, I did not, at the time, realize just how often these surface.

Incidentally, I've enjoyed Geneforge IV the most out of those I've played so far, but I suspect that BoA might eclipse G4 when I get around to playing it.

I've been enjoying our AP Lit assigned book, Sophie's World, enough to forgo reading a book of my own. It's effectively a history of philosophy, and although the plot is a bit weak the historic aspects of the novel entirely make up for it.

I'm not sure he ever used that many h's. I'm also pretty confident that there is no reason to remember Arghhhhh, as his manner of disturbing the general public was not even original. Spiderweb past is littered with annoying members, and very few of their mistakes could not be avoided with a little common sense. Consequently, they're best forgotten.

By "we", I mean humanity, as a whole. You can decide whether that refers to an average, a ratio of happiness to discontentment, or whatever other method you choose.

It's been 50 years. A great deal has changed. The question is, are we better off than we were on October 4, 1957?

Well, I don't have much of a Spiderweb personality, so I suppose that it's application as a neutron source (in this case, a stream of steady, neutral commentary) might fit me. It's rare, which might in some way correspond to post count. Also, its bluish glow calls one to think of the moon, and thus Artemis, and thus the charecter of Actaeon. Admittedly, it's a stretch, but I thought I'd give it a go. I'd really like the element. If you permit another slightly less scientific argument, it was discovered by the French: the largest part of my heritage. If anyone would like to suggest something more suitable, I'm open to suggestions.

Edit: As of this post, my post count is 289.
Surely, the presence of its atomic number is no mere coincidence

Very well, Nem. I guess it is quite common. I do maintain, however, that the Facebook audience was untapped at the time.

I wouldn't mind being Actinium. It sort of sounds like my name, and I would enjoy being the defining element for the entire Actinide series.

Edit: Did I forget to mention how cool Jewels is? Well, it's true. Insanely cool. (Perhaps that's too nice.)

That reminds me... I should probably try to get an element if I'm going to be in the story. Of course, it may be that I've already had my cameo.

Is "creative" in reference to the pretty Terragen pictures, the periodic wordplay, or the sum of it all? I must admit, I would take the use of my Terragen sunset in locking the post as the highest of honors. Of course, in saying that, I've made it even more impossible than it was before but, meh.

It could certainly be an interesting exercise. The key, I think, would be to get input from prominent members of each Spiderweb "generation".

I don't know much about podcasts, but I can only see this working if long distance collaboration was possible. Kel, Salmon, and Aran debating some obtuse spiderweb topic verbally might be interesting, but someone ranting on their own probably wouldn't be.

... and eventually he just gives up and dies from the sheer nonsense of his existence. His rather mundane death is preceded by a long, existential oration in which he realizes that his love for seafood is really just an outlet for his secret desire for...

Wait. Why am I talking about myself in third person? I am no Dikiyoba. I am not Alorael. I am my own person, with my own special personality. Not one that would make a good character in a story, but, in a pinch, I imagine Diki could fall back on my namesake.

Edit: Or my tendency to edit every other post.

Unless you're a secondary account of someone more well known, I don't see how she'd be able to create a personality for your character. In fact, I'm wondering whether she has enough information to create one for me. Perhaps I'll just end up staying dead.

They don't seem to be here anymore. Guess they'll be in Aran's archives?

I'm sure they are. Shadow Vale has a picture topic, too. Even so, if the purge wiped out all the pictures, it might be time for a new one. Perhaps it could require that the picture be taken directly before posting, just to keep things interesting. Given the at hours in which some posts are made, it could be rather amusing.

Incidentally, I think Nikki insights more gender debate than most. At least, until you read a couple of his posts.

What I'm really waiting for is for a member to start using Vaarsuvius as a display name.

I think that I get points for trying until someone else finds a better reason to stick "off" in that equation. Even then, I get some points. I could have just mentioned the possibility that a new product in the line could be named off without trying to explain why that might be. Perhaps that's what Eph means. Regardless, it fails to really matter.

It was a reach. I was trying to find something that fit. I figured that "off" could tentatively stand for "off the grid", in a figurative sort of way.

I'm sure that companies would go for it if it wasn't for the likely hood that lawsuits would break them. Perhaps they'll have more success next season with their next line of carbon neutral products: the iBeat "off" line.

[PPP] Search function redux in General

Sorry for bringing back an old thread, but I thought it better than posting an entirely new one. It suddenly occurred to me that Aran's new search feature provides and excellent excuse for members to think back on the old days and, perhaps, find some dirt. So I ask those of you caught in the present to plug your member number into a search and take a look at what you find. It might not be pretty.

You can find my first post here .

I didn't catch one warning that, although passable grammar is expected, it is not constructive to mention every little typo.

Myself, I'd like to interject a warning recommending that the edit button be used in moderation. That seems to be one of my biggest flaws.
