If I remember correctly, the warrior type was useful in 2, but not in 3. I know in 2, what I did with my guardian is put everything into parry, endurance, and shaping stuff (mostly). I charged in first, mostly invulnerable, and let my drayks do all of the damage. Problem is, Parry isn't rigged in 3 (it was in two,), and I will assume it isn't in 4 either... So yeah,,, the warrior... -------------------- Learn from others mistakes. Its safer and more entertaining than learning on your own. Posts: 100 | Registered: Wednesday, January 5 2005 08:00 |

I think I've done one fairly noteworthy one. GF2, I wanted to reach my high point in power before joining any faction (So I could make a save and get all endings). So, I needed to conquer Gazak-Uss. So, what I did, was, (with a shaper with 6 creations) Snuck my way through all of Benerii-Uss Getting every crystal piece. The problem was, I could not kill ANYONE with a name, or clear ANY of the areas, or I would p/o the takers. (I think the hardest part was getting the piece in the labs without Salgurdar noticing.) -------------------- Learn from others mistakes. Its safer and more entertaining than learning on your own. If memory serves... In E2, Mindduel was *free*, it was, if you had the components, an easy way to boost up your SP, assuming you didn't get drained. However, in E3, and I think in BoE, it cost 12, making it much less efficient for gaining SP. 12 SP is a lot, also, E2 didn't have stacking or weight restrictions, making it possible for all your guys to run around with 99. E3, they had a 1 wieght per, I think. -------------------- Learn from others mistakes. Its safer and more entertaining than learning on your own. If memory serves, Goesstch's "reward" is the permission to leave his domain alive, rather dissapointing actually. If you kill Trajkov, and don't destroy the geneforge, he uses it, goes insane, and causes a whole sort of problems. Pleasant chap. -------------------- Learn from others mistakes. Another thing I noticed is that if you ask him to use it once he has, he says the power would overwhelm you... How exactly does he figure that out? -------------------- Learn from others mistakes. When playing through the different endings in GF1.. I noticed that Trajkov was the only person able to control himself after he used the geneforge. I know that your character can't control himself, and goes mad, and don't even start talking about Goesstch, hes crazy even before he uses the geneforge (if you get that ending). The only person able to keep his humanity intact is Trajkov, which is quite odd, being that he is already heavily modified, and doesn't have the type of training your character does. (And don't even talk about Goesstch). -------------------- Learn from others mistakes. Its safer and more entertaining than learning on your own. Hmm... if I remember correctly from GF1, the serviles on sucia island said that the canisters there kill them instantly. I know you can play a servile in GF4, but im just curious, can a servile use canisters? -------------------- Learn from others mistakes. Its safer and more entertaining than learning on your own. I know in GF3, I used a drakon, more for show than for powergaming, I found him quite a bit weaker than my other creations. He was actually best at absorbing fire, and he was better than my entire crew at that. I also kinda needed him, as he was the only thing I made that did magic damage. The other thing is you get them so late as they almost don't matter anymore. Generally, I would say that they are weaker than the other two, unless you have a fire shaping of 10 and battle/magic shaping of 2, and I don't know how this could ever happen... P.S, and when I said weaker, I mean, even more useless than my fyora. I pumped my Fyoras stats extremely high and he ended up being quite useful. -------------------- Learn from others mistakes. Lankan and crew won't be hostile if you destroy the rogues. Actually, its kind of odd that he doens't thank you or anything. Anyway, I do think you can give him the canister after you report the reward to Diwiana. Though, get all training done before you give him the canister. Also, for powergaming purposes, I think you will get more XP/stuff for giving it to the purity officer. If you have the living tools/gold, you can break into the storerooms and take the canisters anyway. I know this gives you some loyalty points, but it won't permanently mess you up..,, theres enough opinion ppl to go around. -------------------- Learn from others mistakes. I havent played the game, but just from projection... The only tangible reason I could see playing a shocktrooper is to get your parry up so you don't always die when you get hit once. Granted, I do not think that trading magic for parry and some HP is a great trade... When you play a shaper type, where your creations do most of the damage, blessing magic, especially mass energize is an almost essential part of thier battle strategy. -------------------- Learn from others mistakes. ERrr., hem... It even managed to stay on topic,,,, (somewhat) without someone even coming in to say anything. I have noticed that sometimes, after the select thread gets derailed, that someone interjects a post that has to do with the subject matter, but, that which ultimately gets ignored and everyone seems to forget its there.... hint hint... -------------------- Learn from others mistakes. The only reason I ever make 0-int creations are for XP reasons only. I know that when in gf2, I got to 4th lvl before leaving drypeak, and had 31 essence, and did enough creative looting to get a 3 in fyora. Hmm,,, I think it might be worth it to take the 0 inty creation... It also happened again when I managed to get plated clawbug, that one was more annoying... Then came the drayk duo, had 121, if I remember correctly, so, I made em anyway. Reason is, I wanted them to start racking up the XP. If I would have waited for myself to get my essence pool higher, I would have made them about 2-4 lvls lower than what they were, and I was not willing to do that. I guess its worth it for the "transition" period. Other than that though, I can't see any reason to have 0 inty creations. -------------------- Learn from others mistakes. Drakons Drakons Drakons... Well, there are 3 canisters, one is in shath's wastes, one is in Benirii-Uss Entry, and another is in the geneforge. As for trainers, Salgurdar can train you in Drakons, as can (Can't remember his name) some guy in the radiant college. However, you need to be with the takers/barzites respectively to train in drakons. -------------------- Learn from others mistakes. Its safer and more entertaining than learning on your own. I noticed that on these boards, a topic will start, have a good conversational thread, then gets derailed and the topic twists around into some parody of what was originally intended. I have to wonder, does this happen all of the time or is it just me... Poll Information This poll contains 1 question(s). 19 user(s) have voted. I know when I was playing GF2, I found that I often created 0 inty creations early, as I lacked the essence to make what I wanted. I always found that when some of my creations have intelligence and some don't (Especially annoying when I had 1/1 Cryoa and 2Cryoa/1 Clawbug), it can cause huge tactical annoyances, especially when you want to hide behind a bush or something and wait in ambush. I guess its worse for melee only creatures, as they charge out and always get killed. I guess thats why It was more irritating for my clawbug, rather than my Drayk Duo.... -------------------- Learn from others mistakes. Its safer and more entertaining than learning on your own. Just from looking at your stats (I have not played the game), drayks and drakons look a lot better now... Drayks were always fairly nice, but I heard a lot of people didn't like drakons. Ur Drakons are really tough now, though I would assume they are still expensive., a nice change overall. On the other hand, cryodrayks seem to have been left behind. There doesn't seem to be any reason to get them unless you really want cold damage, in which case a cryoa would seem to have greater value... Just some ovservations of mine... -------------------- Learn from others mistakes. Its safer and more entertaining than learning on your own. Ok, I do not know whether this is a good or a bad thing, well, whatever... I'm playing GF1 (again), playing a shaper, and have a 2 str. Now, for some odd reason, I am at current carrying 290 pounds of stuff, cheers, I probably have no ribs left. In battle, I get a cheery 2 AP per round, even with haste. Now, ive picked up some more things, and every time i am in battle, I somehow get 31 action points per round. Now I am able to make 6 attacks, cast 6 spells, etc. (Haste seems to ruin the effect.) Maybe I move really fast because the weight has crushed all of my bone mass making me very light, idk. Anyway, now I feel really dumb for not making my battle magic higher...,, Any elightenment anyone? -------------------- Learn from others mistakes. Looks,,,, like I am not ENTIRELY alone on this... I have not seen the dread ugly GF4 fyora, and looking at the screenshots, they still look the same. I guess I did not specify WHICH fyora I was talking about, so (some random and boring apology). Also, when taking comparison pictures, why didn't anyone take any screenshots from GF2, they're all over. Or, maybe I am just completely insane...
