They can't go aboveground? Where'd you get that?

And you fight for the Empire? Sounds good.

I always wanted to fight for the Empire. I'm evil that way. Someone tried making a scenario once where you played the Empire side of E2, but that didn't go over well.

Once I got to the Giants, I was buff enough to drill about twenty wandering monster encounters (this is without doing the roaches, too; my spellcasters were at level 20 and my fighters around 10).

I had enough to max out my mages and halfway to my fighters. Now I just need to get the cash for all those happy fun spells. :P

I want some of it.

Let's see if I can make this a little simpler.

When you install the game, it seeds a new key.

The key is different every time you install the game.

Each key has a different registration code.

The code you have on the disk ain't going to work.

I'll look at it. My solution was to erase part of the town and do it over, but I'll see if I can fiddle with it.

Well, one city in mine is two 64x64 areas grafted together.

It's huge. (That's not counting the catacombs that the city was conveniently built upon.)

Perhaps I'm odd in this--wouldn't be the first time--but I tend to find that I'm always lacking cash. (I have 40 skill points on my mages that I can't spend, heh heh.)

I know I could use the editor, but that's lame. In my current game (first non-cheating one in a long time, too), I just beat the slimes and am on my way to Bigail. Does the job market get better after Kriszan? :P

If you did kill Sss-Thsss, then you've probably already got a royal token.

I didn't my first time. I couldn't figure out at first how to get in, and didn't want to walk to Formello. At this point my party was fairly ripped, so I went in and beat them down. His head was a great Royal Token.

"I didn't think you could pick any of the locks in that area so early in the game. Wierd."

Just use the unlock spell then, if you created a custom character, it's not too hard.

Pile on the Mage Skill early on. It helps.

Hitman in General

I can't say I like Hitman. I played the original and Hitman 2, and was appalled. A guard can unload an Uzi clip and the guys in the next room won't hear him, but if you pull out your fibrecord and begin sneaking up on someone, he screams bloody murder--and his screams penetrate the door his bullets' reports didn't.

AI problems result in a "Bad Game Designer, No Twinkie!".

On another note, if you haven't played MGS3, DO SO NOW. It involves you going nuts with a fork. A fork. Classic Gaming Moment: I snuck up on a guard without any camo, doing the Rambo thing. I put him in a headlock, using my fork as a close-quarters combat weapon. I stabbed his sorry lame guard arse with the fork, then proceeded to use his body as bait to blast his friends with a shotgun.

Booya.

Exile/Avernum 1: Definitely Avernum 1. Exile 1 is really, really clunky.

Exile/Avernum 2: Avernum 2, but not by so much. I think the isometric perspective does happy things to the game.

Exile/Avernum 3: On this one, Exile walks away the champ. In addition to being more fluid and natural to play (my only complaint being a severe shortage of money unless you rape the jobs list), Avernum 3 is the beginning of the new engine, which I hate.

(The new engine is slow as molasses on my laptop, which I use for these games. It takes 3-4 seconds for a spell effect to display, for some really weird reason--in the previous engine, normal time.)

Blades: Avernum wins here. Despite the annoyingness of the engine, it's just a far better GCK--better scripting, better customized graphics, and you can do nifty things with the isometric perspective.

I still voted for Exile, though. It's old-school. I'm old-school. So it's awesomer.

1) REALbasic 6 is supposed to have polymorphism.

2) There is a sort of polymorphism included, but it's a little annoying to do. You create the class, and then make functions/subs/variables using the EXTENDS keyword, which adds the function/sub/variable to a specified instance of a class.

RaI: Berkeley is a place where angry liberals congregate and much drugs are done.

Oh, wait, I'm having a flashback to the 60's. Scratch the drugs and double the angry liberals.

Yeah--excellent job. I wish it'd download properly so I could reference it on disk (it acts kinda weird if you DL it), but even without that I can see this being really useful.

I might write something later for it, along the lines of the BoA cookbook.

Yeah. That's the point. Someone sees an error, they fix it. If they're being stupid, the page can revert very easily.

Even if they're on disk, the ones that need a code will generate a new code. You still need to go through the hassle of getting it out of JV.

BoE and Nethergate, AFAIK, are the only ones that won't.

Question--why not use Wiki? I'd think that's a little more standard (and certainly easier to update!).
