It was horrible. I hate family gatherings. I spent the whole time hiding in the basement.

...really changed the way you thought? For me it was The Dechronization of Sam Magruder by George Gaylord Simpson. It's about a scientist who accidentally sends himself back to the time of the dinosaurs and can't get back because the future has happened already. He wrote about his experiences and thoughts on stone slabs and they are being read by some scholars soon after he disapeared.

I know how to light my finger on fire without it burning for a few seconds. It's fun to set it up and light it from a candle by putting your finger through it in front of other people. My dad used to do it for trick-or-treaters.
Other than that I poke my friend who is a foot taller than me and who is really good at karate with a pen, but he just pokes back, so....

imaginary friend, best friend, other best friend

Yeah, I have two best friends. And this IS a case of me liking them both equally. One is my friend because of interests shared, the other is my friend because of life views and fears shared.

Here are two of mine, both of which were written in the past month, month and a half. My poems don't rhyme, and the lines are determined by how I feel the spaces should be, which is usually kind of weird and it's all kind of random so.....

They told me today that there are no such things as dragons
They told me that I would never go off on an adventure like in my books
Said that those adventures didn't happen
That they were just made up
They told me today I would go through high school
And college
And get a job
Work until I retire
Sit at home until I die
They told me dragons don't exist
So what is it I see out of the corner of my eyes?
I ask
Breaking into their lecture
Shadows
They tell me
Only shadows
Shadows breathe fire?
I didn't know that
I say innocently
The fire is just your imagination
They answer
Unamused
But the fire burns
I protest
Rolling up my sleeve
I have scars
Maybe you should be supervised when you cook
They say
Losing interest in the conversation
I turn away
Trying desparately to save myself
From their words
From their explanations
For their words are cold
They don't burn
They freeze
Freeze the imagination
The burn of the fire is better than the numbness of the ice
For the murderous heat of the fire can also warm
But the ice
Can only
Kill

Music
Just listen to the music
I tell myself
Music won't hurt you
Close your eyes
Focus on the music
See?
Now it's the only thing that exists
There is nothing else in the world
Your only purpose is to be an audience for the music
Feel the beat
Feel how it resonates through your body
Even with the volume turned down as it is
I start crying
Unable to hold everything in
With something as beautiful as the music
Stabbing open all of my wounds
My brain makes associations between the lyrics and my life
I can't hold my own
In this duel
I'm inexperienced
Weak
Stupid
I have no beginner's luck
Yet I keep coming back to it
To the music
Despite how it brings all my worst memories to the front of my mind
Because I know
Once I've seen them all
Once I've withstood this ordeal
There will be nothing but the music
I won't have to think
As long as I keep listening to the music
I will be safe

I'm going trick-or-treating as either a jedi(again) or a homicidal maniac(if I can convince my mom to let me). And before anyone asks, homicidal maniacs look just like everyone else. I also came up with an idea for a short story about the blood people donate really going to vampires to keep the vampire population from expanding.

My feather quilt...*smiles happily* And good pillows. It's not the most exciting thing in the world, but when your sisters steal your blankets and claim they did nothing wrong(they stole the good pillows-now I only have flat ones :( ) it's nice to get a blanket that is obviously yours(I have the only feather quilt in the house :D ).
Other than that, if they've been wanting a book, that would be a good present, as is a computer game they've been wanting, etc. Or if you liked a book, computer game, etc. and you think they'll like it, that could be a good present. Or you could just get them a box of cookies. :P

I got my name from the book The Merlin Conspiracy(by Diana Wynne Jones). When I first got my name on IM, I mispelled it and left out an h(in the book, it's Nichothodes) and I couldn't fix it. I now spell it without the h because it's sad when you have to tell people 'on IM I'm Nicothodes, without an h, on Spiderweb I'm Nichothodes with an h, etc.'.

And now for the result of the monthly chicken representative election!

And the winner is: Nicothodes!!!!

You prize will be a million eggs and a nice hat with yellow feathers on it.

YAY!!!! I'll take care of all the eggs and get them to hatch and wear the hat while I do and when the eggs hatch into a million chicks, they can share the hat with me!!!!!

I've never had a chance to play it. It won't open on any computer I've tried to play on. It doesn't even say servers are down. There's just this blank gray screen. I've given up.

Oh, and if anyone sees a 'blueisrunescape' on there, please tell him that Ariana couldn't get onto runescape and ask him to e-mail me(nicothodes @ myway . com). Thanks!

New laptop. And the laptop was in her house, right next to her bed, which she was sleping in at the time, which is kind of scary. The reason she didn't wake up was because she had mono and had taken medicine which put her to sleep.

Here are two jokes, both jewish(but not as obviously so-they more have to do with jewish stereo-types). I don't like the second one as much, because why it's supposed to be funny isn't obvious.

A jewish mother gives her adult son two shirts. A few nights later they are about to go out for dinner. He comes down wearing one of the shirts and says 'See mom? I'm wearing one of the shirts you gave me.' The mother says 'What? You didn't like the other one?'

A Chinese restaurant opened up, but went out of buisness soon afterwards because it wasn't a jewish neighborhood.
