That didn't work either. Here's the portion of the code.

beginstate LOAD_SCEN_STATE;
init_quest(1, "quest", "quest description");
break;

EDIT: Never mind. Fixed it. Thanks everyone! :)

That's where I had put it. The entire list is blank. It doesn't even have "(you don't have any quests yet)".

I just gave an NPC a quest to give to the player. When he gives it, it says "A quest has been added to your list", like it's supposed to, but when I go to the list it doesn't have anything, not even the title of the list at the top. What's going on?

Yeah, it's the same bug. *sighs* I know the other editor will work, but I really prefer to be able to see how the scenario will look in the game without constantly moving the file from folder to folder. :mad:

I got my version of the 3D editor a few months ago and it worked fine. Today, when I tried to use it either right after I tried to make a new scenario or open an old one, it would quit. I downloaded the newest version and tried that one, and the same thing happened. The only thing that's changed about the computer is that we upgraded the OS to 10.4. Does anyone have any ideas why it's not working?

I've started writing a short story as a parody of the little mermaid. I'll probably finish in a few days so if anyone wants to see the end email me. nicothodes (at) myway (dot) com

It started on my twentieth birthday. It was the day I had to go to the surface. I had a big argument with Dad over it. The pollution is terrible up there, according to my sisters.
I knew he could order me up there, being king of the merfolk, but he rarely brings that sort of thing into family life. In the end, he won, just as parents always do.
Going to the surface is a ritual everyone does on their twentieth birthday. Actually it used to be sixteen, but there’s a rule that if you meet a human of the opposite sex, you have to marry him or her as soon as possible and people thought sixteen was a bit young.
Dad didn’t get to see me off as he was busy with the sea-witch, who liked to amuse herself by stealing things like beauty, voice, and talent. I was going to just say I had gone up to the surface when I found out Uncle Fin was going to take his place. I started to swim up, followed closely by Uncle Fin until I couldn’t swim anywhere except up. My head burst the surface. There was so much debris in the water, I could hardly move.
My attention was drawn to a small boat. When I saw what was going on, I almost screamed. It wasn’t fair! They were tossing out a man. The rules were very specific. I had to rescue him and bring him ashore. Then I had to wait until he woke up, tell him to meet me in the palace courtyard, go to Dad, get turned into a human, and marry the guy. I’d have let the idiot drown, except Uncle Fin was just under the surface and would’ve told.
I took off after the idiot’s sinking figure. I mean, who’s stupid enough to upset people when you’re on a boat. I mean, come on.
I reached him before he lost consciousness, which was good. I mean, who wants to sit around waiting for a complete stranger to wake up. I say, pretend that you don’t see him and let the next merperson save him.
When he saw me, he smiled and gave a little wave. I began to doubt his sanity.
By the time I got him to shore, there was no doubt about it. This man was lost to the world. Some would say that his looks made up for it, but the number of people is one, including his mother. His hair was blond, almost white, which did absolutely nothing for his dark skin. His eyes were blood red with flecks of gold and he must have been about twenty pounds under-weight.
“Hi! My name is God. I can get you anything you like. Would you prefer beef or chicken?” he was saying as I heaved him onto the beach. I was beginning to see why he was tossed overboard in the first place.
“Tell you what. Meet me in the palace courtyard at noon tomorrow,” I said, wishing that stupid law would disappear into thin air. I swam off, going underwater as soon as I could. When I reached Uncle Fin I almost screamed. I mean, there I was wishing there was some way to get out of rescuing the guy and it turns out Uncle Fin was asleep the whole time! I should have known! He always falls asleep. Now I was stuck having to marry the mental patient. I left Uncle Fin where he was and swam back home.
After dinner, Uncle Fin came rushing in shouting that I had disappeared. Dad berated him for falling asleep and sent him home.
I had to tell dad I had rescued a human. There’s something about being a merperson that makes us unable to stand up a human. It’s said that it’s because we used to lure sailors to crash into rocks. The Royal Wizard got tired of all these deaths and cast a spell on us so we had to stay on the rock until the sailors crashed. Combined with having to rescue all the humans and marry all the ones of the opposite sex, this spell was made even worse. It is generally believed that this is why we stopped doing it. I believe we stopped because it’s a lot less work to let them kill themselves. But anyway, somehow the spell worked for all arranged meetings between merpeople and humans so the king of the merpeople at the time worked it around to fit in with the laws of the merfolk.
Dad was thrilled. He was all set on turning me into human and sending me off right then, but I asked to see the kingdom of the merpeople one more time before leaving it forever. Forever with the insane asylum escapee. That’s a scary thought. Dad, thinking I was finally being sentimaental, like he always wanted, agreed.
Instead of going around the kingdom I went in search of the sea-witch. I figured if anyone could help me, it would be her. In the sea, when you’re set on finding something, you usually do quite quickly. It’s really annoying though when you’re trying to avoid someone. It’s impossible. Well, I found the sea-witch’s lair fairly quickly. It was a cave with the heads of humans staked at the entrance. Seeing those heads, I could tell the sea-witch and I were going to get along extremely well.

What piece is your favorite or most hated piece to play on your given instrument? My favorite to play on cello used to be Gavotte by Lully, but it recently changed to the Lord of the Rings music. My most hated piece of music to play is Pachebel's(sp?) Kanon. The cello part is the same two measures repeated over and over again. :mad:

I'm usually the one who stops others from killing bugs.It's not like they're killing us, unless they're carrying a deadly disease, in which case, killing except in a controlled enviroment doesn't do much good or someone has bad allergies, in which case it depends how much I like that person. However, I feel no remorse freaking out everyone I meet who's terrified of bugs. If you're in Hell demonslaeyr, I was in Heaven when the cicadas came out summer before last. :D

I play the scenarios that provide an entertaining way to pass the time(or annoy my sisters-take your pick :P ) and any new scenarios that chance to come out(hint, hint). I'd make my own, but my school goes longer than most and requires me to practice for at least an hour a day as well as do any homework I might have.

I think that the BOA boards will return to their former glory, or, failing that, at least a small following of people who post regulary, once the excitement of a new game has faded a bit. Once people start finishing A4 for the 2nd or 3rd time in a row they'll come back to BOA because scenarios for BOA will probably come out sooner than the next SW game.

I celebrate Chanukah with my family, which is basically my mom trying to get me and my dad away from the piano and to the table for dinner and then later for presents. For New Years we go to West Virginia to a friend's house where my dad and I remain glued to THAT piano and I defeat the two kids around my age at suicide chess until they refuse to play with me.

And for all of these words, blame the person who gave me Mrs. Byrne's Dictionary of Unusual, Obscure, and Preposturous Words.

I like the Christmas carols by P. D. Q. Bach. :D Other than that, right now they're all annoying me because I have been forced to listen to them every morning as the chamber chorus had a concert with the Baltimore Symphony and then they all got stuck in my head. :mad:
