In light of the election, this seemed to be an amusing thread to bring back to life. On a note actually related to what was being discussed, I have read Asimov's Foundation series and last week saw I, Robot and then read the book. I too think that Asimov seems rather willing to have robots in charge. -------------------- Take the Personality Test! People named Alex clearly need better representation on the boards. Although, I have to wonder, what does racial representation have to do with moderating? It's not like the mods take race into account when they lock a thread or give a warning. -------------------- Take the Personality Test! Through a freak accident involving 3.6 potatoes, a cat named Mr. Scoonoobles, a ball of very warm twine, and a pair of edible socks I have determined that it now seems that White's death occured by being gored by a three-legged moose. -------------------- Take the Personality Test! I favor Exile 3 over all other Exiles/Avernums with BoE a close second. With the disappointment that was GF3, I fear for A4. Edit: Testing! Does editing a post move the whole thread up? I propose that all other candidates shift their votes to me. I desire to be a moderator so that I can have the title Blademaster. My cause is clearly the most noble and most beneficial to the most people. [ Monday, July 11, 2005 13:04: Message edited by: Archmage Alex ] -------------------- Take the Personality Test! The manner in which my glass of water spilled combined with the current color of something I saw the fridge allowed me to determine that, as of 46.89 minutes from now, the Great White's cause of death will have been slipping on somewhat frozen block of cheddar cheese smeared with refried beans and falling down a well. -------------------- Take the Personality Test! In the thread on General, many of us chose Exile over Avernum in part because of the more immersive feel. I think this may be, in my case at least, perhaps because the lack of complicated graphics and things is conducive to the book-view of gameplay. If playing Exile, though, if you plan to play the whole series don't even look at Exile2-BoE before you play Exile 1. I started out playing E3 and found the lesser interface of its predecessors hard to deal with. Hmmm, maybe I should apply to be a tester. I am a "nook-and-cranny" gamer that looks in every dresser/pot/plant/bookcase/rug of every house in every town, makes sure I have every square inch of map explored, and plays through the whole game several times to make sure I've tried every single choice imaginable. And I love to find loopholes in the programming. (for example: that one square you can stand on, just around the corner, where you can kill the big boss slowly with tiny blows without him ever seeing you.) It seems I am actually rather fitted for beta-testing. -------------------- Take the Personality Test! Deep down, you wish you were a stick figure. I know!!!! Jeff has majorly disappointed me with GF3! The Terror Vlish has been castrated, the Eyebeast weakened and make uncool, NO new creations or spells, the only plot choices are inhuman-power-mad warlord or uber-authoritarian-heartless overlord, and the guardians, shapers, and others have recieved new dorky graphics! Don't get me wrong, I do consider it worth my $25, but really, this is definately a step down from GF2, not a step up as GF2 was from GF1. My only ray of hope was in the ending, which made it seem like we actually might get new creations/spells in GF4. -------------------- Take the Personality Test! I was annoyed by this chest too, but when it caused me over 1500 damage I figured I was never going to open it and just forgot it. My GF3 order was processed within the hour. Actually, so far I have recieved an e-mail back with my code within 1-2 hours of all the games I've registered. Just for the thrill of it, all the candidates should shift their votes to me, making me the only candidate in the final election. Then we can compare my blood-tension to itself and see if I am a moderator. -------------------- Take the Personality Test! Not necessarily, for those of us in Utah. We have a state holiday, the 24th of July, to celebrate the settling of the Salt Lake Valley by the pioneers. There aren't nearly as many big fireworks shows, but plenty of small fireworks can be found. July is practically fireworks month.
