If you're on a PC, you don't have that option, apparently. The coordinates count up going south and east (i.e. with (0,0) in the northwest corner of the town). You could open the game in the scenario editor and find the coordinates that way. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. I'm really surprised at how poorly GF3 is doing. I thought a lot of people really liked it, but it's not showing up that way at the moment. EDIT: It also appears (no surprise) that only a few have been duped by the demo. About half the games have someone who registered but thought it was poor or terrible, but only GF2 has even two. quote:Bear in mind that many Americans would see nothing wrong with the statement, "I'm going to drive to Australia." Even the geographically sound ones can only name about three or four cities in Australia. I'm having some trouble coming up with them myself. We love how exotic Australia seems ("They talk funny!") and how far away it is (Southern Hemisphere, which makes Americans think of toilets flushing), as well as the odd animals ("Dingos ate my baby!"), but we don't know anything. Actually, that goes for our relationship with just about every country in the world. :P -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. The funny thing is that Homeland doesn't look that bad from the description on the Spiderweb site. I'll just have to download it to a PC at some point and try it. If I should suddenly disappear one day and never be heard from again, I should be considered another casualty to Homeland. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. You know, the Spiderweb front page also says these sorts of things. BigBob: If you actually want to address Jeff, you should probably e-mail him. He doesn't read these boards. Also, you're mixing up some terminology. None of the Avernums have had a skill cap that you would ever reach (~100). A1 and A2 had level caps that were somewhat painful. If there was one in A3, it was much higher — I don't remember hitting it. BoA is pretty much free from that cap, though, so I doubt A4 will have any problems with it. In general: Jeff has already finished the engine, presumably. We do know that is new. How new is uncertain, though. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Smoo: Get ready to face the walls! quote:Wait, what? Time for a Google search. Aussie football is not soccer, but it looks a heck of a lot closer to rugby than to American football, judging by the first site that Google pops up. EDIT: And it's the "plurality" business that helps maintain a multi-party system. A lot of things in the U.S. require an outright majority, which pretty much kills third-parties. Also the fact that the Republicans and Democrats are two of the oldest major political parties in the world. If you cut out the majority of the wandering and a fair amount of the level-building quests and maybe half of the general stuff in A1, leaving only the setting and major plot points, it could actually sort of work. You know, it starts with a few people coming out of a portal, and then they have a conversation with Tor who describes everything, and then as they leave Fort Avernum, the camera pans out to a good shot of the larger cave area. I mean, it could be done, but you'd have to cut a whole bunch of stuff and mix around a whole bunch of other stuff. A2 might work a little better. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Huh. There wasn't a single thing on that list that I actively wanted to see in A4, but I had to choose one anyway, so I said non-combat alternatives, because it seems like it has the most promise. The first three and the last one are a few that I hope we DON'T see, though. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. 38. You know, cities in the Roman Empire were covered with graffiti. I don't think medieval or Renaissance cities were as comletely written-on, but hey, the Empire's an empire, right? This would not be unrealistic. It might require a bit more graphical work than Jeff would like to put in, though. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. This has been brought up before (but not since the last prune, I think). My feeling about this is sort of like my feeling about Geneforge Online: I could imagine it working and being not half-bad, but it's never going to happen. (Avernum Online, on the other hand, probably couldn't work.) -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens.
