I guess the obvious question is, have you checked to make sure that G503 is there? Have you closed the editor and re-opened after you checked? If you mail it to me within the next fifteen minutes, I can get it back to you immediately. Or ef can do it. Either way. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Smoo: Get ready to face the walls! Ephesos: In conclusion, yarr. quote:No, you don't. BoA scenarios are completely cross-platform except the graphics. And the graphics belong in the scenario folder, with the scripts and the bas file. Make sure that the number is the same as the resource ID in the old cmg file (so if it was resource 512 in the cmg file, make sure it's G512.bmp in the new folder). Just do what the other BoA scenarios do. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Smoo: Get ready to face the walls! quote:How many times has it happened? This is not a rhetorical question. I want to see examples. Keep in mind that many founding fathers were deists, not Christians. That didn't seem to damn the birth of the United States.[/b][/quote]The Roman Empire is the most obvious one. As soon as they stopped worshipping their traditional gods, their empire began to fall apart. Of course, they converted to Christianity, and that didn't seem to help them... :P In all seriousness, I think I like this ruling. It says that having the Ten Commandments in a government building is not a violation in itself, but having them present in a way that constitutes an endorsement of a particular religion is, and one such display did. That seems reasonable to me. Moreover, I'm in favor of the Pledge of Allegiance in its traditional form before people started screwing with it. You know, before they inserted "under God" in the 1950's. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. There's nothing about a cmg file of a scenario on a PC. Put them in the scenario folder and title them the way that you title custom graphics on a PC (G500, G501, etc). EDIT: Same time. Yeah. And it's summer, and the weekly West Wing Marathon on Bravo is more than enough reason to stay up to 2 am. :P [ Monday, June 27, 2005 23:15: Message edited by: Manhood Typing Kelandon ] -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. So you made the graphics on a Mac but want to use the Windows editor? All you have to do is convert the graphics to BMP format and get them over to that PC. Seriously, just download a couple of PC scenarios and look at their graphics if you're having trouble understanding what you need to do. Those bunches of BMPs are the custom graphics. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. You'd be surprised how hard an "agree or disagree" essay can be. I get a lot of students who try to be perfectly right by acknowledging both sides in a 25-minute essay (which is what's on the SAT). You just don't have time for that, but a lot of people don't figure that out until after they've done it a couple of times. I know the SAT essay begs for coaching. It sounds as though these could be the same way. And for reasons I don't entirely understand, some people just need test prep if they're going to take standardized tests. I had a student recently for SAT II: Physics who had already taken Princeton Review (who I work for) courses for SAT I and SAT II: Math IIC. He came in with a 510 on the Physics and walked out with a 720. (That's going from about average to near the top, for those who aren't familiar with SATs.) Apparently his score improvements in the other classes were comparable. We don't do that all the time, but we do it a fair amount of the time. This is part of the reason that I don't like standardized tests very much. They started as an absolute standard to level the playing field, but now they discriminate against everyone who can least afford discrimination. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. To elaborate on that point: if you wanted to discuss the nature of stereotypes as they appear in GF3, that could considered on-topic for the board. If you wanted to discuss stereotypes because you were inspired by their treatment in Spiderweb games, that goes in General. If you wanted to discuss stereotypes because you want to discuss stereotypes, you're a dirty, dirty spammer, but you probably can do that on General anyway. Game boards are for discussion of the games. Now that we've gotten that cleared up, uh, I can't think of anything to say about going rogue except that I can't recall any of my creations actually doing it except maybe once in GF2. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Thuryl, that test doesn't sound too different in format from the current SAT, and the current SAT is very coachable. I teach test prep, and one can boost scores with prep for any test with consistent standards or a consistent format. Teach process of elmination, make sure the students know how and when to guess, teach an order of approach to the reading passages and practice which kinds of answers the test-makers usually go for, practice basing your answer in the passage rather than interpreting the passage, practice plugging in numbers — all of these things can be taught. TM, all you're doing is showing how little you actually know about me. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. For a number of skills in which you can buy levels up to 5, there also exist mind crystals or other one-time raises that can raise your skill beyond 5 without spending skill points. I typically end up with a character with Magery at 8 because of this, and I think it's true for Barter in A1 too. Nethergate should have been written entirely in Latin. Oh, I'm sorry, were you trying to make a point? I thought it was a poem. In other news, different people's copies of Spiderweb games have often behaved in entirely different ways, for reasons that remain as yet obscure. This may be responsible for some of the differences in opinion here. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. This should probably be at the Lyceum. Also, a scenario doesn't go into the "Rated" category unless it has at least three ratings.
