I've been putting this off, but I suppose if the deadline is in a mere two days, there's very little time left to waste. As so few votes have been thus far submitted, perhaps we should extend the deadline on voting. What say you all to Valentine's Day as a new deadline? -------------------- "Let a man find himself, in distinction from others, on top of two wheels with a chain- at least in a poor country like Russia- and his vanity begins to swell out like his tires. Sometime back, a board bug deleted the accounts of several members. That probably explains this phenomenon. -------------------- "Let a man find himself, in distinction from others, on top of two wheels with a chain- at least in a poor country like Russia- and his vanity begins to swell out like his tires. quote:I'm quite sure that this system of obtaining music is illegal as well, just far less common than simple downloading. A large portion of my music has been obtained illegally, too, through a combination of P2P programs and online file directories. Currently, I'm listening to the sound of my roommate and his girlfriend making out a couple feet away from me. I hate college. :P -------------------- "Let a man find himself, in distinction from others, on top of two wheels with a chain- at least in a poor country like Russia- and his vanity begins to swell out like his tires. I agree. I found it extremely hard to play as the Romans at all, just because they were so, well....ugly. Nothing like the wild-looking, rakish Celts. Slings make a far better missile weapon than javelins, as they can do a comparable amount of damage and do not need to be replaced at great cost every few hours. And although the Celts are unable to utilize the extra protection offered by heavy chain mail and plate, they more than make up for it with their masterful command of magic. -------------------- Stughalf "Delusion arises from anger. The sole reason I can think of for choosing a PC over a Mac is the sheer dominance in numbers of programs available for Windows over programs for the Mac. And although that's apparently a good enough reason for the vast majority of consumers, it's not quite a good enough one for me. I was brought up using Macs, have used them for the entirety of my young life, and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. EDIT: v Very interesting, Alo. In fact, I use OS 9 as well, although I do plan to get X at some point in the future. JF's no newbie. And no one's "picking on him." I don't presume to judge Imby for reacting angrily to what was, in fact, a nonsensical and incendiary statement by JF. -------------------- "Let a man find himself, in distinction from others, on top of two wheels with a chain- at least in a poor country like Russia- and his vanity begins to swell out like his tires. I have no great admiration for Drakey's musical tastes, but as he's a fine chap otherwise, I allow it to slide. ;) And I'm currently listening to "Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy)," by John Lennon. Yep. In complete seriousness, I highly doubt the existence on this board of a single person who has played Homeland extensively enough to even come close to answering your question. I found the game to have some semblance of playability, up until I found out just how horribly fashioned the combat system was. -------------------- "Let a man find himself, in distinction from others, on top of two wheels with a chain- at least in a poor country like Russia- and his vanity begins to swell out like his tires. quote:With those requirements, I highly doubt you would be able to find a single person for your list. Human beings, by nature, are imperfect creatures. Refusing to call a man like Martin Luther King, Jr. a "great man" simply because of a few extramarital escapades is unfair and ludicrous. As for Gandhi, even though he was a great man, he was still a man of his times. The charges you make, Morgan, are serious, and most probably justified, but I still feel his positive accomplishments far outweigh his anti-semitism (hardly an odd viewpoint for his times) and his many eccentricities. -------------------- "Let a man find himself, in distinction from others, on top of two wheels with a chain- at least in a poor country like Russia- and his vanity begins to swell out like his tires. In some ways, I acknowledge; however, he accomplished far too much in his violence-shortened lifetime for me to fault him for any of his minor shortcomings. The same goes for MLK Jr.'s womanizing. -------------------- "Let a man find himself, in distinction from others, on top of two wheels with a chain- at least in a poor country like Russia- and his vanity begins to swell out like his tires. The reason for that, my good man, is that any insults directed at Desperance would be groundless. On the other hand, it's always open season for Polaris-aimed wisecracks. *chortles, then is joined by five hundred ferrets chortling in unison* -------------------- "Let a man find himself, in distinction from others, on top of two wheels with a chain- at least in a poor country like Russia- and his vanity begins to swell out like his tires.
