Look south and southwest of the Castle for more underground passages. After long treks through tunnels you'll be able to get under Patrick's Tower and kill the demon there. There are quite a few demons lying around, though, so be sure that you got the one that gives you angry dialogue. —Alorael, who thinks the nearest tunnel entrance is almost due north of Patrick's Tower. Just follow the southern wall of the Great Cave and look for trap doors. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

It's safest to stockpile items in areas with fewer items in them already so that you don't hit the item cap and start losing your loot. The cap is high enough that you'd really have to make an effort to hit it, but better safe than sorry. —Alorael, who uses Fort Monastery. It has relatively few items in it already, a handy pylon, and a nice assortment of boxes and cabinets for keeping different kinds of items organized. Esperanto is a made up language and there are now people who have grown up speaking Esperanto. (Bilingually, obviously, but it's still quite an achievement!) One could do the same with Quenya if one so desired, although I think the vocabulary might be a little bit lacking. It might one day be possible with Nephilian, but it isn't. Give Thralni a few more years and more formal grounding in linguistics and we'll see. —Alorael, who is quite sure that there are worse languages. And there's always speaking in binary. Alec starts a photo thread. There is no sudden proliferation of new threads dedicated solely to pictures, or worse, threads dedicated to permutations of the same picture. —Alorael, who has nothing against iGod. iGod can coexist with Spiderweb in peace. It should just do so in a finite number of threads. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

They weren't Avernites in Exile, and obviously using two hands at once is much more difficult isometrically than in two dimensions. —Alorael, who also suspects that the addition of weapon to the character sprites and certain balance considerations dictated the removal of ambidexterity. My friends and relations are all strongly in favor of long hair. I neither have nor want long hair. This is a source of some tension which is alleviated as my hair grows and then brought back in full force when I have my hair removed every few months. —Alorael, who has dinner with his old retired barber every Christmas. His barber also tells him that his hair is too short. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

Use of existing iGod threads is legitimate but will be punished anyway. Creation of new iGod threads is illegitimate and will be soundly mocked. —Alorael, who now knows that he is but an instrument of iGod and that it is iGod's will that iGod cease to be a very Old Testament plague upon these forums. It's usually not tentacle on tentacle action (squid sex never caught on). The popular subgenre in question usually concerns intimacy between possessors of tentacles and bipeds. It really comes down to two perspectives with different focuses on the same material. —Alorael, who is glad to know that that niche market can be interspecies. I made an opposite choice. My mage eventually became better at unlocking than my thief, so in the end I used my thief for easy locks and traps only. The mage just had enough Magery and Spellcraft to open locks into the twenties. —Alorael, whose crowning achievement was unlocking Athron's lair, looting it, and then learning that there is a key. You said you want the topic to close, and it did. This is no longer about scripts, stories, or you. It is now about the plausibility of Nephilian, which just appeared a few posts back. You don't own the thread, and as long as it isn't breaking rules or threatening to do so it will remain open. Linguistics are as good a discussion as anything else. —Alorael, whose biggest objection to Nephilian as a mostly disinterested and uninterested outsider is that it is unnecessarily complicated. Only Spiderweb's handful of linguists can follow along, and even they seem confused by much of the language. For a personal project it's fine, but it's manifestly unsuitable for use by a general public largely unfamiliar with anything more complicated than nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs. 1. Your range is slightly longer than the pylons' range. You can use this to kill pylons if you have patience, luck, and a lot of energy to burn. 2. You don't have to fight a single pylon or let them fight you. There is always a path that lets you avoid pylons entirely, although it's not always obvious. Try sticking close to walls and back up if you end up in combat mode. —Alorael, who could give more specific path advice if he knew exactly how far you've gotten into the keep. It is essential to the survival of Spiderweb!!! —Alorael, who really just got sick of the logs and decided that if they're going to appear they should be justified by the modicum of extra effort required to make them the slightest bit relevant to some other thread. iGod is henceforth banned from Spiderweb. You may not post iGod logs unless they are somehow suited to the thread, and they do not get threads of their own! This change of rules is not retroactively applicable. —Alorael, who would like to save General from the abyss into which Misc. plunged. Bad rhymes are only the first symptom. Endless polls and repetitious, content-free topics are more worrisome. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

Ed, you've been warned before. Do not start trading insults. In any case, Infernal was talking to Aran just like Nik, and the level of seriousness was just as low. —Alorael, who prefers Ben's scripts because they're less likely to contain sinister left-biased viruses.
