Anybody seen Spore? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spore_(game) @Wikipedia (please C&P as UBBcode doesn't like parens in links) @Google Video (Gameplay) @Google Video (The whole speech!) And the official site... spore.ea.com From View from the Bottom #2: quote:Prophetic words, Jeff, but I for one am going to stay alive long enough to play this thing. -------------------- Lifetime Spiderweb Gamer and Fan of Classic Style Graphics Posts: 42 | Registered: Saturday, April 10 2004 07:00 |

This topic is going to be loked? This isn't spam? I'm not sarcastic. Just curious. :) -------------------- Download Geneforge 4: Rebellion You have 6 posts. Well, since it isn't spiderweb software, and it's a sort of advertising, this will probably get locked. -------------------- There are 400 words in the dictionary that begin with "self" and only 8 that begin with "fellow". This is related to one of Jeff Vogel's columns. I think it can live. —Alorael, who thinks Spore looks good but not truly innovative. It mixes bits and pieces of old games and does it very well. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

Spore: hmmm. Sometimes drastically ramping the scale counts as a whole new idea. Looks like it could be fun ... but really long. And I'm having enough polygamy trouble as it is. -------------------- We're not doing cool. We're doing pretty. Posts: 3335 | Registered: Thursday, September 4 2003 07:00 |

Spore... it should be quite interesting, should it ever actually be finished. (As for innovative, I always liked Black & White, even though it techinically built off of... whatever that other god-sim game was called. B&W2, from what I heard, was a flop.) -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. I really, really, really, really hate undead. With a passion. This isn't against the CoC except maybe in the most technical sense, because firstly he is not advertising it for personal gain and secondly this looks awesome. As long as it's not an obvious advertisement, there's no rule against recommending a game that we might like on the forums; it's been done before. The topic lives. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

Spore seems to be Jeff Vogel's dream of shaping at its hight. Maybe they stole the idea from him? If so, then I smell a lawsuit! But really, the game seems interesting and I would love to get my hands on it. -------------------- "Yeah-- you're right. You christians are far too persecuted nowadays. I mean it. I would say that Baldur's Gate would fit as a truly innovative game, as well as Darklands before it. Also, the original Castle Wolfenstein, for different reasons. Posts: 2242 | Registered: Saturday, April 10 2004 07:00 |

Hmmm. Looks fun, maybe, though I don't think I'll be playing it. On a side note, congrats on [almost] 11,000, Alo. -------------------- -ben4808 Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |
