Frostbite problem in Blades of Avernum

More interested in story then in combat, I first attempted this scenario with a god singleton. This has never caused problems before, but I guess that could be the reason. My spells are 100 or higher with that guy.

I tried once more with a buffed up singleton (high spells), and I still couldn't get past this part. I think I'm just going to create a new character and use the prefab option.

EDIT: I would like to add that I do enjoy this scenario, and have been flustered that I can't finish it. I hope to rate it when I'm done.

Thanks, and I apologize for not reading the readme.

I'm going to try a new party, and see if I can't get past it this time.

I suffer from the same problem in the same place. I gave up on it because I thought my computer was just being stupid, like usual. I hope somebody has an idea, I would love to finish Frostbite myself.

Alcritas, you are nothing short of a god. I can't say I visit the Lyceum on a regular basis anymore, so I'm glad to see you here. Though I doubt you'll be gracing us with your presence much longer.

Must feel good to be able to stir up this much commotion just by posting a couple times.

These forums have always been that way. Annoying noobs and sometimes the even more annoying "oldbies" getting angry about not having their medicine. Or whatever keeps oldbies going these days.

I wouldn't worry to much, noobs come and go. Ed was an extreme case, but I knew sooner or later he would be banned. Or get fed up and leave, I didn't really care which. Members with some decent repsect will generally be accepted and will jump on the bandwagon, while the rabble is left by the wayside. Think of it as a test to see who's got what it takes to be a contributing member. This core of the community will stay, and Jeff will live forever.

I hope...

Another annoying thing about religion is that people make attempts to convert you. My friend has made many attempts to trick me into reading the bible and it has gotten extremely annoying.
Since you said this person is your friend, I will boldly make the assumption he/she is concerned with the well being of your soul. He's your friend and is simply doing what he believes is best for you. I do not personally view this as annoying or wrong; it's simply human compassion.

I also believe this is the case when it comes to many conversion attempts. One person possess faith that their "religion" is the right path, and wholeheartedly desires to take his or her family and friends down that path with them, out of love. That's really great when you think about it. What's wrong with love anyway?

I feel as if I am rambling, so I'll be silent. For now.

Is it at all possible that people just hate Homeland because everyone else hates it? You know, like a fad?

I won't really rate it since I never made it past the demo myself, but I did enjoy it. Though it was not worth a purchase. Interpret that however you will.

I will retreat to my flame bunker in case someone decides to tear me apart for that.

Geneforge 3 Ending (Spoilers?) in Geneforge 4: Rebellion

I have played through every single Geneforge game. With the exception of G4, I have seen every ending. But that is where my question comes from, because no ending I saw in G3 fits the story in G4. I am wondering where Jeff was getting his ending from.

Come to think about it, I don't believe I have played through a game just killing everyone in my path. I wonder if that's even possible in G3.

I am confused after playing G4 all the way through (pro Shaper of course). Throughout the game I was picking up references to G3, and how that game played out according to Jeff's own storyline.

Greta talks about Alwan, herself, and a third member traveling the Ashen Isles together. She mentions that se had to leave the group however, because she did not agree with the path they were following. This suggests a pro-Shaper ending for G3.

But the Ashen Isles have been conquered by the rebels, so a pro-Shaper ending doesn't seem to fit right. I could pull up a few more examples if I need to, but I think you get the idea.

I just want to know what happened at the end of G3, because no ending I have seen fits what I have heard in G4.

You are not supposed to take that camp, yet. My memory is terrible, but you need to bring the entire expedition to that city. After that, I believe Kass tells you to get help from him. Then you can take the camp.

That was a little vague, I know. But I hope it helps. Even if just a little.

I encountered that to high stat error as well, but I know it was mentioned in the hints file, and was not very worried. It's the other problems I have come across that seem odd. None of them make sense, but like I said, they don't force me to quit.

I hope these bugs are worked out in a later version, I would hate to see such work of art plagued by bugs the rest of its life.

EDIT: Probably the most interesting was when Pithoss was transformed into a question mark. I wish I could do that.

Thank you all for your help, but before I even thought to come back here I simply restarted my game and everything works fine. Well, not everything. I have encountered a number of problems but nothing that has forced me to stop playing. Oh, and I do have the latest version of BoA.

Thanks again.

I do not believe this has happened before, at the very least I am unable to locate a topic where someone said they had the same problem. I just found Exodus and was very excited by the way, but now I cannot play. Why you ask?

As soon as Legare (sp?) parts that river, and you are asked to hold off the attacking army, I get an unhandled exception message.

Unhandled exception: c0000005
At address: 004492268

After this, I am forced to exit out of the Blades program. Numerous attempts have met no better end. Any ideas?

(Computer knowledge is limited, so I can't even guess)

How did you discover Avernum? in The Avernum Trilogy
Warrior

How did you first find avernum?
Well, it started out looking for any free online rpgs. I searched and searched, and eventually came to a link to Spiderweb. I first played Nethergate, and hated it. I then played all Avernums in order and hated them. A year later, I got bored again and the same thing happened. Only this time I loved the games (and still do).

What game did you first play?
Nethergate. It was my favorite up until I got deep into Avernum 3. I may be the only person in the community who really loves A3.

Why did you play it?
I first played Nethergate because the sound of a somewhat history based game was very appealing. That, but also because anything with Romans in it is automatically great.

.....

I find myself asking,"John, if you like the Romans so much, why do you always play the Celts?". I have no answer.

What is your favorite game?
As I have already said, Avernum 3. It was amazing to me, and always left me with a feeling of playing a true gaming masterpiece. Besides, above the others, I love the way A3 was set up. Nethergate is a VERY close second, and after that I don't really care.

The name I was using, Commodore Redmark, came from two video game characters.

The obvious one is Erika Redmark, whom I worship as my god. I really don't know what makes me like her so much, but I learned to stop asking questions about myself a long time ago.

The second, from which I take Commodore, is my humble homeage to Commodore Wittcomb. He is the Captain Picard of the Star Ocean universe, and one of my favorite characters of all time. Even if he plays a very minor role, and dies way to early, he is still realy cool.

My current, Ashby, is fairly obvious as well. I hope..........

Oh... Well that clears it up, and thank you for not spoiling the plot twist for me. I beleive I won't like it very much, but I tend to overlook bad plot twists If I find the overall story interesting.

That does not meen I love A4 story, I just find it to be mildly entertaining. If only Erika was in it...

EDIT: Wow, so many typos...

Do you mean Rentar-Ihrno? I have made it to her fortress, but returned to the rest of Avernum to destroy the shades.

I thought I had to finish up the Darkside Loyalist problem before I beat the game, so I decided to try and do that too.

Levitz (wrong name?), told me to go to the ruins of Erika's old tower and find their next outpost. Once again, if memory serves, the only way to her tower is through the Abyss.

What have I missed?

How do I get into the Abyss? Spire Fort has been taken by bandits, and they aren't about to open the gate for me.

I recalled another way into the Abyss from past Avernums, but it seems to have been removed.

Is there some tunnel I'm missing? Some quest thing perhaps?

Dish? My Grandmother's chili, there is nothing better.

Animal? Cats, I do worship them afterall.

Actor? Patrick Stewart of course. As to why exactly, I will not say.

Fictional Character? I am (or was) Commodore Redmark. You do the math.

Position? Why would anyone want to know this? As a matter-of-a-fact, why does anyone want to know any of this?

It is to be noted, that I also worship Erika. My holy book tells me she will return, so I wait faithfully.
