OOC: Here is the second half of the storyline. Enjoy. IC: Jade just stares in awe at what she is seeing. The two figures standing in front of them are exact copies of both her and Alcove. Alcove suddenly turns to Jade. "Jade, take my hand." Jade looks at her in confusion as Alcove takes off one of her Placita gloves and puts out her hand. Jade responds, "Why?" Alcove explains, "It might be wise if you absorb some of my magical energy and powers for a short time. Just give me your hand. Remember when I said that with that amulet all you have to do is touch a person to absorb some of their powers and their image. If they see three of me and one of you, they will be confused. Do you understand what I mean?" Jade nods and reaches out her hand to take Alcove's. When she takes Alcove's hand, both it and the Mercury Amulet starts to glow bright blue and then Jade begins to feel light-headed. Power seems to pulse from Alcove as blue light continues to envelop both of them. Jade starts seeing things through new eyes. She sees the grudge between Arcadia and Alcove, the cruelness and power of Baltazar, and everything Alcove has ever experienced in her life. Just then, the glow turns orange and Alcove starts sweating profusely. Her muscles start to spasm and the same starts happening to Jade. Then Alcove starts feeling light-headed. She then cries out, "Jade!!!! STOP!!! Let GO!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!" And with that, she collapses on the ground, breaking the connection of their hands and the transfer of temporary powers to Jade. Nonetheless, it was completed. Jade just then comes to her senses and realizes what has happened. She looks at Alcove and then over at the mage doubles. Having absorbed some of Alcove's mind, she knows what Alcove intended to do with them. She wanted to send them into the room first to see if it was safe, all the while controlling them with her mind. Now that Alcove was out cold, it was up to Jade to do it instead. Jade realizes that Alcove is a sitting duck while passed out and so she drags her to a nearby room that has a bed in it and lays her down on it to rest. Then she goes back to where the clones are. She decides to go around the corner out of sight and control them. She starts concentrating on them and soon is able to see through their eyes. She decides to have the one that looks like Alcove go through the door first. So, she has it open the door and begin walking through it. OOC: I?ll leave it up to someone else to continue the story. I said it would be a twist in the story. By the way, these clones will respond like Alcove or Jade normally would and are actual flesh and blood. The only difference between them and the actual mages is that their magic is much weaker and is almost the same as an illusion. The clones have magic, but it won?t do as much damage as the real mage would. They are summoned creatures. You get the point. OOC: This post may end up weird, but it's for a good reason. It may also humor you to know that my one finger is terribly sore. That means that every word I type is with pain. And two can play that game with Delgar. IC: Alcove and Jade continue through the hall. Jade passes a window and senses something. She goes back to the window and peers out of it. "Jade, wait. I sense something. I am receiving a mental message from someone, but it is extremely weak. I recognize it though. It is from Kyrissian. She is my best general and she is badly injured. I will send two of my imps to retrieve her. Strange that I didn't notice it before. As though someone else was sending it to me. Oh, well." Alcove starts chanting and raving waving her hands. And once more imps appear in front of her. "Go and bring Kyrissian back to the tower. She is badly injured and needs immediate help. Go, NOW!!!!" The Imps take off out the window and the two mages once again continue walking through the hall, with Alcove scanning along the way. As they round a corner, they come to a shut door. Then Alcove senses something. She can't make it out, but it is coming from behind the door. "Jade, stop!!! Don't go through that door. I sense something odd behind it. It goes into the castle's "lounging" area. That is where we go to relax. But there is a strange aurora coming from it. I am not going to risk your life and let you go first. Just wait a minute." Alcove faces the door and begins chanting and raving again. A red light begins emanating form her and then it turns yellow. Alcove crouches down and touches the ground in two places. Where she touched the ground, a small orb suddenly appears. She stands up and the orbs begin to grow in size. They continue to grow until they are the same size as Alcove and Jade. Then they both begin to take a humanoid form. Finally, the light disappears and the figures take full form. OOC: I will continue this storyline in my next post. This one was too long, but it was certainly worth it. It will add new twists to the story. You are going to love it. Let's just say that I brought a rope, a lead pipe, a dagger, an old wrench, a revolver, and a candlestick. Like the weapons presented in the movie and board game Clue. I will need my lighter, a pack or two of cigarettes, a survival pack, a camera, and perhaps lots of MREs (Meals Ready to Eat, if you still don't know what I am talking about, watch Tremors 2: Aftershocks). Did anyone remember the camping gear? [ Saturday, September 27, 2003 16:15: Message edited by: Murder, She Wrote ] -------------------- Mrs. Peacock: "Everything all right?" Colonel Mustard: "Yep. I think I will join this just for a chance to go to the mall again. I am lucky if I get to the mall once every six months. I live in the countryside and my parents don't know their way around the nearest city which is 35 road miles away. When I get the chance to go to the mall, I usually end up walking around looking at everything and wishing I had enough money to buy something. My family is rather poor. -------------------- Mrs. Peacock: "Everything all right?" Colonel Mustard: "Yep. Two Corpses. Everything's fine." I am currently unemployed. Because of my mental problems and unstability at times, I am looking for work through a disability job agency. It turns out that it will take a while to get a job because the have to test me and find the right place of employment for me. I am hoping for work at a greenhouse somewhere. I am also considering taking up painting, becoming a singer, becoming an archaeologist, and writing stories. If you want to know what my singing voice sounds like, I am a mix between Cher, Alan Jackson, and Natalie Merchant. Or in other words, I sound I lot like Trace Adkins and Natalie Merchant. I love plants, sot working in a greenhouse, even just watering the plants would be nice. Archaeology really interests me a lot. Writing stories suddenly seems to be something I am good at. And I always wanted to be a painter, I just never practiced. Painting intrigues me as well. Sorry, I left out that I love photography. Unfortunately, I don't get around enough to take the pictures I want to take. I am almost always stuck at home. I am unable to drive and I am 18 for pete's sake. Bye. OOC: Alcove is nearly as powerful as Baltazar himself and can find a spell to restore Fluffy's clan back to normal. She has many magical tomes. Alcove and Jade are onto Delgar's little scheme and are planning to retaliate in some way. IC: Alcove and Jade continue to walk down the passageway and soon come to a door. Alcove inserts a key into and it unlocks. She pulls it open and reveals a small room filled with magical weapons. "Which one would you like, Jade?" Jade looks at the weapons and sees a whole array of items. She walks up to a silver broadsword and picks it up. Alcove sees what Jade is looking at. "Ah, that is the Tahitian (pronounced Ta-hee-shan) broadsword. It allows the user to slice through almost anything. It is blessed many times over and can do this also." Alcove shows her a button on the sword. "Press it." Jade presses the button and poison starts to flow on it. Then suddenly the poison ignites and the sword starts flowing with fire. "It a broadsword with endless poison and flame. Is that your choice?" Jade looks at her and nods. "Good choice. I will choose these." Alcove picks up a pair of ruby red gloves. "These are the gloves of Placita (pronounced plah-cee-tuh). They improve a user's magic three-fold and provide a slight magical barrier around the user to ward off attacks. Here Jade, take this necklace as a gift from me to you." Alcove picks up a necklace with a cobalt blue stone attached to it and hands it to Jade. Jade responds, "What does it do?" Alcove returns, "It the Mercury Amulet and it allows you to imitate anyone or anything you touch. It renders the user... well... hard-to-hit and hard to focus on. It jumbles your appearance and makes whoever or whatever you have touched briefly see an image of their self. So, in other words, it makes them think they are fighting a mirror of their self. You will temporarily obtain some of the powers and knowledge of the person or thing you touch. Just repeat these words to activate it. Lakura liberate tu tu mae exferies stah." Jade repeats the words and the amulet on the necklace starts to glow brightly, filling the room with a cobalt blue colored light. Alcove picks up one more weapon for herself, so they both have two. She picks up a ring with an emerald set in it. "This Jade is a Ring of Will. It allows the user to mind-duel better." Alcove then picks up several red gems and puts them in her pockets. "These red gems are called smoky crystals. I have been saving them all for a day like this. In case I should have to help kill Baltazar or some other powerful mage. In this case, Arcadia and Delgar." Alcove then shuts the door and locks it again. "We will probably be back here again eventually. We should now leave through the other passage door." Alcove and Jade walk to the other end of the passage and stop and an illusion machine. Alcove rants a few words and touches it. It glows briefly glows, then starts up. "Before we go, I have something to do.? She removes her robes from her wrist and reveals a power bracelet. She rants and raves for two minutes and then suddenly the power bracelet gives of a tremendous gold light and then breaks apart. ?Now Baltazar can?t kill me if I defect or betray him. We can open the door now." Alcove chants a few words and pulls in a slightly jutted out brick. A door swings back and Jade is amazed to see a brick wall in its place. "Follow me and keep alert." Alcove walks through the illusion first and then Jade follows her. Jade curiously steps through the illusion and then is in the hall with Alcove. "There is no one out here. They must have followed us through the hall and lost us. Let's try to sneak up behind them shall we. And remember, they might be invisible, so I will scan for them." With that, Alcove begins scanning the halls with her mind as they go looking for Arcadia and Delgar. OOC: Alcove and Jade don't know that Eferas is around. They haven't seen him yet. It is now up to other people to continue the story. My brain is going to be wracked out for a while. I hope the story continues well. Sorry if this is very long. It should explain my part for a while to come. What the heck are ROMS???!!!!! I only recently entered the computer world and I am 18!!! My family is old-fashioned and didn't get me a good computer until 1998 or 1999. I didn't understand how to use the internet until 2001. And I didn't get the internet until June of this year. I lack the knowledge to understand many of things people here talk about. I guess you consider my parents depriving me of much of "very important, need-to-know, information" basic to growing up. That can be a crime in itself. You know you are deprived when many of things your parents are supposed to teach you about, you end up having to learn about in school. Once again, what are ROMS??!!!! -------------------- Mrs. Peacock: "Everything all right?" Colonel Mustard: "Yep. Two Corpses. Everything's fine." OOC: Well, time for me to come back in. IC: Alcove and Jade continued to throw magic at Delgar and Arcadia with no progress. Alcove began to notice that none of Delgar's magic was doing any damage and began to get skeptical. "Jade, follow me, now!!!!" Alcove disengaged from the battle and ran around the corner. Jade followed quickly after as magical arsenal hit the wall and disappeared. They continued running until they were back to Alcove's quarters. They ran in, shut the door, and locked it. It was a very thick solid oak door. "Did you see that Alcove, a spell hit me right in the chest and bounced off. It didn't even hurt at all." Alcove examined her chest and saw no signs of any damage. "Just as I thought!!! I thought there was something strange going on!! You weren't damaged because the magical bolt wasn't real. It was an illusion. It took actually seeing one hit you to realize what was going on. You can consider Delgar to be on the enemy's side, as we might soon be if Baltazar is attacked. I can remove your charming and just join them if need be. I have no problem killing him. He disgusts me and I am sick of being his lackey." Jade looked confused, "Charmed? Kill Baltazar? Why?" Alcove looked at her and started feeling guilty. "I'll explain it to you later. We need to kill Arcadia and Delgar. And there is only one way to do it." Alcove walks around her bed and goes over to the wall opposite of it. She chants a few words and presses in a brick. The brick moves inward and a wall swings away. She looks back at Jade. "I had this passageway made just in case of an attack. Neither Arcadia nor Delgar knows about it. I have weapons in here and the passage itself comes out at the wall right next to them. An illusionary machine is next to the wall, but is currently inactive." Jade grabs a hold of her and stops her. "What if Delgar senses it? He'll figure out our plan and attack us." "That's the beauty of this illusion machine. He can?t detect it because it is cloaked with spells. When we turn it on, it will project an image of the wall it is facing. Then I will activate the wall and it will slide back. It will look as if the wall is still there, but in reality, it will be the illusionary wall there instead. We will be able to attack them without them knowing it. They probably won't still be there, but looking for us in the halls. They won't expect us to be coming from behind them. I will turn us invisible until we locate them." "Wow. That's a very good plan. Anything else I should know?" Alcove got a nasty smile on her face and then spoke. "I also have a whole array of magical and average weapon in this passage as I have already mentioned. Come with me and choose a weapon you would like to fight with." Alcove and Jade began walking down the passage to the weapons closet after closing the passage door behind them. OOC: This by no means shortens the fight. It makes it more interesting. It wasn't me that wrote into the story that the spell bounced off the person and had no effect. That was someone else. That gave my character the possible answer to her suspicions. -------------------- (Looks around in the Study) Colonel Mustard: "Just checking." Mrs. Peacock: "Everything all right?" OOC: My character shall survive. I will kill Arcadia first though. IC: Alcove and Jade continued walking through the hall. Alcove kept on scanning the whole time. When they rounded the one corner, Alcove started picking up a life form. It was Arcadia. She knew that signal like her own. She sensed that Arcadia was no longer invisible, and when she rounded the corner and saw her, she knew it for sure. Arcadia was standing at one of the tower windows and was gazing out of it. Alcove decided to throw a statue spell at her. But just before she was able to, there was a huge boom and the tower rocked from it. Alcove then turned around with a smile on her face and almost jumped when she saw both Alcove and Jade staring at her. Alcove looked stunned after hearing the explosion and Arcadia noticed it. "That's right Alcove!! The rebel army is attacking your precious tower. And there is nothing you can do about it. You can kill me, but you will never be able to save Baltazar." Alcove looks at her with an evil grin. "What makes you so sure that I want to save him. I don't care about him one bit. In fact, I will be happy if he dies, then I will finally be free. If he is killed tonight, I have no problem joining the rebels. Therefore, it is you who has been tricked. I have no intention of getting killed in this tower, but you will never escape from it alive!!!" Jade and Alcove start preparing spell and move in to attack. OOC: The fight has begun again. Jade might die, but it's not up to me. Even while the tower is being attacked, Alcove and Arcadia will continue fighting it out until one of them is dead. If someone here feels like writing some of Alcove and Arcadia's fight scenes, that is perfectly fine with me. Just don't let the fight end quickly. Alcove does still need to betray Baltazar, and cast a particular spell to remove that death bracelet from her wrist. Sorry about the long OOCs. -------------------- (Looks around in the Study) Colonel Mustard: "Just checking." Mrs. Peacock: "Everything all right?" Colonel Mustard: "Yep. Two corpses. OOC: I will change that previous post about Alcove teleporting away with the use of a power amulet. Let's just say that she teleported away by use of a spell. And I still need to know how bad the two Archmages are injured. I can't continue the story correctly unless I know specifically. IC: Having teleported away, Alcove regained her composure in her quarters. Her side still hurt from the giant lizard's claw tearing into her. She decided now was the time for another heal spell. She chanted and then a blue light began to swirl around her. She felt herself healing and getting stronger. Then the light ceased and she was healed. She carefully opened her room door and scanned the surrounding area for life forms. Sensing none, she ran to the throne room. When she opened the door, Jade was still talking to Baltazar, but now she was on his lap. "Baltazar!!!! What do you think this is, happy hour?!! Arcadia is still alive!!! And she attacked me. I suggest you hide or... yes, Jade, you come with me!!" Baltazar looked slightly irritated at hearing this but decided he could be with Jade later. "Prepare your army, Baltazar!!! Arcadia is as powerful as I am. She knew all the spells I knew when I last fought her. I think it is safe to assume she can do as much as I can do now and has grown in power. She is not an adversary to be taken lightly. She will destroy you if she can defeat me." Baltazar looked slightly concerned for the first time in a while. "Very well. I will stay here in my throne room. Just don't let her defeat you. I don't want to lose you." He smiled at her and Alcove suddenly felt an uncontrollable impulse in her head to kiss him. "Oh, dear god, no!!!" Alcove concentrated all her mental energy into getting out of the throne room with Jade before his mind control took over her. She knew she couldn't withstand it completely, so she attempted to get out of range. She went out the door with Jade and shut it. The mind control weakened considerably and she thought she could hear a "Hmmmph? come from Baltazar in the throne room. She looked at Jade and said, "Arcadia has managed to go invisible. She can't do that for long because it drains magical energy. I don't understand how she was able to do it in battle and remain as strong as ever. I have a feeling that she is being helped by someone unknown... or someone we have already met." She contemplated who it might be, but soon gave up. "Now where are Mancire and Fluffy? You better come with me, Jade. I need you to watch my back. I will scan the area around us for life forms while we search for Arcadia. She couldn't have gotten far." They began walking through the hallways while looking for Arcadia, Mancire, and Fluffy. IC: I hope this is to everyone's satisfaction. -------------------- (Looks around in the Study) Colonel Mustard: "Just checking." Mrs. Peacock: "Everything all right?" Colonel Mustard: "Yep. OOC: Ok. I'll give this my character a try here again. I don't get yelled at here. IC: Even from his room, Schostas could here that horrible statement. "The Walls! The walls are breached!!!" He knew he would need to help out this situation somehow. He paged through the book and found the spell he was looking for. He studied it carefully and then took off for the hole in the wall. Just in case, he decided to bring his spell book with him. He ran down the stairs and met the bartender in the bar room. "Where is the breached wall?!" The bartender pointed to it and said, "Over there. Hurry up if you are going to defend it!" Schostas got a smirk on his face. "I plan to do better than that." With that, he ran towards the wall. He left the bartender with a puzzled look on his face. He stopped short of the wall at a table and put the book on it. He looked at the spell again and then moved towards the wall. "Everyone stand back!!!!" He ranted and raved and then pointed his hands at the wall. It almost startled him when a purple light shot forth and stopped at the hole in the wall. Everyone stood around and stared at him and what he was doing. Suddenly a magical barrier started to form in the hole in the wall and soon it plugged it up. "Yes!!!! It worked!!!!!" Everyone around began letting out cheers and started to congratulate him. He went back to his book and sat down at the table with a smile on his face. OOC: I hope I didn't ruin the plot at all. You know, I am sensing a lot of negative energy from this site. I think I will leave this site for a while. Anyone who wants to take over my character is welcome to. I am fed up with the putting down of my character and me. You may not think it is that, but the comments seem to keep on coming. What else could they be? It's just one complaint after another. Now you are complaining about the length of my OOCs. If you hadn't noticed, I didn't use OOC: at the beginning of any of my recent comments. That is because they aren't out of character comments. They are just comments. But enough is enough. Consider my control of my character from this end gone. You people are now on your own. You can kill my character for all I care. Being at this site just isn't fun anymore. It's downright insulting to be here. Goodbye for a while. -------------------- (Looks around in the Study) Colonel Mustard: "Just checking." OK. Ignore what I said about Arcadia divulging information about the rebels and Delgar. I didn't mean to start an argument on the topic. Some other things about a previous post are bothering me. Someone said that Alcove clutched her power amulet and teleported away. I feel the need to correct this. Alcove has no power amulets. She can cast spells only. She can cloak herself in protection if need be, but it drains her magical energy slowly just like teleportation, so she uses them rarely. She has learned both mage and priest spells, so she can use anything in the Exile arsenal. Including healing herself and the such. Arcadia can do all the same things. Alcove can go invisible by herself, as should Arcadia be able to. Alcove, like Arcadia, can scan minds. If someone goes invisible, there is no reason why either one of the mages wouldn't be able to scan the area around them for life signals and then fix in on them to target them. I am not trying to start a fight this time, as I wasn't in my previous post either, but people interpreted it that way. I was saying that the fight won't be short. That is to be expected if Arcadia wants to make time for the rebels. But, mages tend to have some sort of protection that keeps them from being injured as badly as they would with average protection. In other words, clear this up for me. How badly are my character and Arcadia injured? That is important for the storyline. Strong mages tend to have decent protection from magical items or just from being powerful. It looks as if this battle is going to have to be well planned and fought out. Both characters have the following abilities. Teleportation, Invisibility, all mage and priest spell types from Exile, flight, protective cloaking spells, and much of the such. Alcove and Arcadia are equal in magical power and abilities. I think it is important not to forget these things. It is logical to believe they would know the same spells and have many of the same abilities. Once again, I am not saying any of this out of anger. I am not trying to start a fight. I am just trying to point out some important facts that cannot be forgotten about the two of them. Everything I mentioned above is important in understanding these two characters. Please, let's not forget them in this battle. Don't hate me for this, but I have had 1 sexual crime, which shall remain unnamed. I don't like to talk about it. It was embarrassing and I should have been arrested, but the charges were dropped because I only did it twice. I was once caught as a... well... peeping tom. I have never vandalized to my recollection. I used to steal money when I was a kid, but then again, who hasn't? I'll think of more later. But I can tell you this, I don't have a criminal record. Let me put it this way. Arcadia has grown in power considerably since their last meeting. Her power should now match that of Alcove. Arcadia doesn't fear Alcove. She believes that she will have no trouble killing her once and for all. Therefore, she feels that she has nothing to hide. Arcadia is hell bent on destroying Alcove and Baltazar. When a person believes they are invincible, they will tell their victim just about anything. Since Arcadia believes she will soon kill Alcove, she believes that Alcove won't be able to get the information to Baltazar. Don't think that just because Arcadia has certain special powers, that she will be able to overpower Alcove easily. I told you I was not going to let this fight end quickly. It is going to take a while. And when I say AWHILE, I mean AWHILE. Because the fight between Alcove and Arcadia will take a while, Alcove will be able to do nothing about the rebel invasion. They should have plenty of time to invade and overthrow Baltazar. And remember this, I said that Alcove has the characteristic of abandoning the losing side for the winning side. I suggest you leave my storyline in place. There was nothing wrong with it and it doesn't interrupt the rebel invasion in any way whatsoever as I have explained above. Just go with the flow and FIGHT. I will also say this; I have no intention of letting my character die. I will see to it that Delgar does however get his own. The fight between Arcadia and Alcove is not to be a short one. Nazgul, do you think you can put these people straight for me? I don't have the authority here to do that and it is YOUR RP. Explain to them what I mean. PLEASE!!!? [ Tuesday, September 23, 2003 05:58: Message edited by: Murder, She Wrote ] -------------------- (Looks around in the Study) Colonel Mustard: "Just checking." OOC: Well, no one has offered to save me from the spider, so I will save myself. Remember when I said it wouldn't be a pretty site?.... IC: The spider continued to talk to him in a high voice. "Boy, you're cute. Want to mate? I have large pedipalps. See." Nigel had had enough. He had no choice but to use his secret defense. It was enough to scare anything away. (He starts talking like Carroll Channing) "Oh, my but your cute. You are just the sweetest thing I have ever seen. Did you say you wanted to mate with me? That sounds simply gorgeous. You wanna date?" Not being used to a human talking to it this way, the friendly talking giant spider started to get scared. It had never heard a human respond in such a way to it. Neither had it heard a human speak to it in such a weird voice. Nigel continued talking like Carroll Channing and eventually the spider got so weirded out that it cut Nigel free and ran off in the direction of the cargo hold. Nigel looked around him and cheered. "It worked!!! Eeeeeeeeweee!! I wouldn't go through that again for a whole load of money. He decided to slink off in the direction of the cafeteria and get some food. -------------------- Mrs. Peacock: "Everything all right?" Colonel Mustard: "Yep. Two Corpses. Everything's fine." OOC: Okay Nazgul, you leave me no choice but to destroy Arcadia once and for all. And if I feel like describing what I am doing at the present time of my post, that is my business. Like many other people have said, if you don't want to read it, then skip over it. I am getting quite tired of this same discussion all the time. Looks like I will have to describe Arcadia's escape from certain death. IC: Alcove was standing in the throne room, when she suddenly sensed the presence of her old adversary. She left the throne room and headed towards the castle gate. The sensation grew stronger with every step. She rounded the final corner and then saw her. Alcove's eyes widened in horror. It WAS Arcadia. She was alive and very powerful by the look of things. "So, you ARE alive. I should have guessed as much. How did you manage to survive the cliff fall?" Arcadia, hearing Alcove's sudden words, turned around with a start. "YOU!!! I knew we'd meet again sometime, someplace. Well, to answer your question, I did fall over the cliff face. But I had just enough magical energy for one last spell. I threw a force spell at the rocks and the recoil from it slowed my fall. I hit the rocks hard, but not hard enough to kill me. Now, you will die. Delgar was only shamming. There is a whole army of rebels coming to kill you and Baltazar. That won't really matter because you will be dead before they reach here and at my hands." Arcadia thrust her hands out in front of her and a fireball flew towards Alcove. Alcove only had enough time to jump out of the way, as the fireball struck the wall. Alcove in return lifted her hands above her head and then threw a flamestrike spell at Arcadia. It struck Arcadia in the leg, but did little damage. OOC: The battle between the two has begun. And it will be intense. I can guarantee you that. I will not let it end quickly. -------------------- (Looks around in the Study) Colonel Mustard: "Just checking." Mrs. Peacock: "Everything all right?" Colonel Mustard: "Yep. Two corpses. OOC: Here is the explanation of Arcadia?s supposed death. I hope everyone enjoys it. I spent a good amount of mental energy on my last few posts. IC: [FLASHBACK] Alcove had been hunting done Arcadia to kill her because she wanted to be the King's Archmage. She had trapped her on the edge of a cliff and they had been previously fighting each other with magic for over an hour. Arcadia and Alcove were both rather weak, but the fight was in Alcove's favor. "There is no escape this time Arcadia!!! This time, you can't teleport out of the situation. You will die today!!! And by god, I will make sure it happens!!!! I will never let you be Baltazar's Archmage!! NEVER!!!!!" Arcadia looked down the cliff face at the ocean and rocks below and then back over at Alcove. "You may try, but you will never succeed Alcove!!! You cannot kill me! I won't let you!! If you try, I will be back someday to avenge my defeat. And I will kill both you and Baltazar. But until then...? She had been preparing a spell to throw at Alcove behind her back while Alcove was speaking. Now she attempted to throw it at Alcove. Alcove sensed that Arcadia was up to something and prepared an ice bolt just in case. Just as Arcadia released her kill spell at Alcove, Alcove threw her ice bolt at Arcadia. The kill spell hit Alcove in the stomach and she fell on her side, clutching her stomach. The ice bolt hit Arcadia in the neck and she fell backwards over the cliff. Arcadia screamed as she went over the edge. "AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!" Alcove in her pain turned around and saw her falling over the cliff. In all her pain, she had a grin on her face. With what little magical energy Alcove had left, she cast a heal spell on herself and made her way to her feet. She limped to the cliff edge and got down on her hands and knees to look over the edge. As she peered over the edge, she could make out the red robes of Arcadia. She could not see her actual body, but just her robes. Of course, that could be because there was at least 358 feet separating her at the cliff?s edge from Arcadia at the cliff?s base. Satisfied at having killed Arcadia, she turned around and headed towards the castle. Filled with satisfaction that her biggest rival was now dead, she set herself up as Baltazar?s Archmage and has lived comfortably until this day. [End of FLASHBACK] OOC: I hope this flashback explains some things. Nazgul, it is up to you to give Arcadia?s account of her supposed death. It is up to you to show exactly how Arcadia survived. And make it decently detailed perhaps by using some of the dialog from my post. I?m sure your explanation will be very good. -------------------- (Looks around in the Study) Colonel Mustard: "Just checking." Mrs. Peacock: "Everything all right?" Colonel Mustard: "Yep. OOC: I hope this works out correctly. IC: The mage Alcove was bringing through the hall to Baltazar wore jade green robes and had long Jet-black hair. She was in her early twenties and had a beauty that was almost deadly. Alcove enters the throne room, brings Jade in front of Baltazar, and says to him, ?Ask her anything. I hit her with a strong charm spell. She is friendly to us now." Baltazar looks at Alcove with a grin. "So, what is your name mage?" The mage looks up at him and says, "My name, King Baltazar, is Jade. I was third in command in the rebel army, after Molez and Pachu. But, now, even though I don't know why, I am at your services. What is your bidding my lord?" Baltazar got a happy little smile on his face and then asked his next question. "What is this I hear about a rebel tunnel?" She looked at him and gave a little smirk. "Oh, that? The rebels have been magically digging a tunnel from a secret location to the dungeon of your castle. It is over three miles long and was dug by a very powerful mage. I don't know any of the details of when they were planning to attack though. They wouldn't tell me very much because I am third in command and there are stronger mages before me." Baltazar looked disturbed at this news. "Who is this powerful mage?" Jade looked slightly shamed. "They refused to divulge much of that information to me as well. I never actually met the mage, but I was told that the mage joined the resistance some four or five years ago. I have heard the mage's name before, but I cannot remember it." Alcove also looked worried and disturbed. She thought back to the various powerful mage's she had known during her lifetime. Only one she knew of had the power to dig these tunnels. But it couldn't be. Arcadia couldn't possibly still be alive. Could she. Alcove thought back to the day she had killed Arcadia. OOC: I will post the flashback in my next post. This one will be far too long with it. Believe me, it is worth it. Nazgul, I didn't want to speak for Jade because I don't know the secrets of the rebels and I am no good at giving away secrets of the enemy. Even though I still insist that you should take the part of Jade, it looks as though I will have to do it. This will be one heck of a challenge for me. I will still need you to speak for Arcadia when I call for it. I can't create this whole plot myself. After all, I didn't bring her back from the dead. I had said I had killed her in a power struggle. Now you have arranged it that I must explain how I had supposedly killed her. I don't like that. I am talented at creating stories out of nowhere, but I am not THAT good. This will be the biggest challenge for me yet. Congratulations. I may be stumped completely for the first time in my posts. I have to think about what to write here. I will be back soon with the continued part of my story. And Zephyr, don't interrupt my story until I am finished. I know you are eager to post, but I have just been handed a challenge that might be too much for me. Why don't you lock Arcadia in a cell and then come to tell me. I have to finish this part with Jade first before I introduce Arcadia into my part of the plot. I will be back soon everyone. Give me some time to work this storyline out. -------------------- (Looks around in the Study) Colonel Mustard: "Just checking." Mrs. Peacock: "Everything all right?" Colonel Mustard: "Yep. OOC: You know, when I had originally spoke of Arcadia, it was a woman. How it was evolved into a man, I don't understand. It will be a surprise when the two meet again, but it won't be if it is a man. Can we make it a woman again? Mancire needs to come and get me before I can do anything. IC: Alcove continues on towards Baltazar's throne room. When she gets there, she amazed by the scent of roses and when she opens the door, he is sitting on his throne, cleaner than she has ever seen him. She rushes to him, slightly turned on by the clean scent of roses. He speaks to her first. "Alcove you can bring in that mage now, I'm ready to question her." "Baltazar!!!! We have bigger problems than that now!!! There is devil's witchery brewing against this tower!!! There is an illusion machine covering up a tunnel entrance in the dungeon. The rebels must have placed it there. They are going to attack you through that tunnel. I knew I sensed something grand in scale that they were doing." Baltazar looked disturbed at this news. "Well, well, well. They have made a move against me. Hmmmmm. Gather up all the warriors in the castle and tell them to wait for my instruction. Meanwhile, bring me that mage you have imprisoned. I want to talk to her." ? As you wish." She could hardly tear herself from him because he smelled that good. But, orders were orders. She went to the holding cell chanting several words and brought down the barriers. She went into the cell and cast several calm spells on the mage. Then Alcove magically removed her bindings. Before removing the web casing, she concentrated her a little of her energy into a very strong charm spell. Her hands began to glow red as she chanted and raved the words to the spell. It looked as if fire was now flowing between Alcove's hands. She walked right up to the mage and put her hands on either side of the mages head. A loud bell toll could be heard and then all was silent. Alcove removed the rest of the mage's bindings and the mage just stood there and blinked. Then she spoke. "Oh, hello. Where am I?" Alcove returned with an answer. You are in the tower of King Baltazar, and he requires you're service. Please follow me." Alcove lead the mage to the throne room and presented her to Baltazar. OOC: Nazgul, I need you to talk for the mage in the throne room. I am going to call her Jade. It is up to you to say what she divulges to Baltazar now that she has been charmed. She wears jade green robes, and, well, I?ll leave that up to you. -------------------- (Looks around in the Study) Colonel Mustard: "Just checking." Mrs. Peacock: "Everything all right?" OOC: Ok. Ok. I'll bite. I have to do something with my character. Remember, my character is not a berserker, but he can do just about anything in a flying rage. Injuries hurt, but don't deter him much. Here we go into battle. IC: Schostas was still on his way to his room when an arrow came through a window and hit him in the arm. Rage starting flowing in his veins and his anger started to flow like that of Michael Myers. He pulled the arrow out of his arm and quickly ran to his room. He reached into his sack of belongings, and pulled out a spell book. His parents willed it to him, and he decided that now was the time to start. He always told everyone that he wasn't a good magic user. But when you're parents are mages, magic runs through your veins whether you like it or not. He knew that he had the ability to cast spells, he just didn't know many of them. He paged through the book until he found a healing spell. He took the time to chant the words and he placed a gray salve he had with him on the wound. It glowed a golden yellow and the wound healed itself. "I did it!!! I did it!!!! Wahooooooo!!!!" He danced around in triumph and set to work learning some of the other spells in the book. He had an almost photographic memory, but sometimes his short-term memory was lousy. He stayed in his room for a while and studied each spell carefully. If he was going to help this inn, he needed to learn all that he could. OOC: When he is done studying his spells, he will be out. It appears that we have no magic users in this RP, or not many anyway. Anyone who has mages for parents is bound to have hidden magical skills and magic in their veins. It just takes a decent amount of learning and one's will to bring it to the surface. My character is going to become a magical user here. However, since it is his first time doing it, he may botch up a lot. I'll be back soon. -------------------- Mrs. Peacock: "Everything all right?" Colonel Mustard: "Yep. Two Corpses. OOC: Is this RP dead now? I want to keep it going. It was interesting. IC: Schostas decided that he was getting tired of sitting and reading the book now. He gets up and walks to the door of the tavern. He looks out and sees the two armies and various adventurers from the inn now fighting each other. He wants to join in, but isn't in the mood just yet. He is like a berserker. He fights when he is mad, but if he isn't mad yet, he doesn't bother. He goes back in and goes up to his room to see the action from up there. OOC: He is now on his way up to his room. There is no telling what might happen along the way. -------------------- Mrs. Peacock: "Everything all right?" Colonel Mustard: "Yep. Two Corpses. OOC: Oh, how nice. A sub-plot. I'll do my best. IC: Alcove was skeptical at this comment from Mancire. "What do you mean a rebel mage attacked you in the castle? How did they get in? The windows are all guarded by Demon Golems and any mage trying to get in would be slaughtered." Mancire looked at her with horror in his eyes. "I was in the dungeon of the castle looking for a way out when I saw a human come out of the wall!!!! Yes!!! Right out of the wall!! I tried to run and tell someone what I saw, but the mage must have seen me and followed me. I got to this hallway and suddenly I heard a loud boom over my head. Before I could look up, a bunch of bridges fell down on top of me. I was knocked out cold until you came looking for me. I figure the mage did that in an attempt to try to kill me." Alcove still looked skeptical, but had a grave expression on her face as well. She proceeded to speak to Mancire with a very serious tone in her voice. "If what you say is true, then take me to the place that this mage appeared from. NOW!!!!!" Mancire obeyed and lead her to the dungeon. None of the cells were occupied in the dungeon, and all, but one, were locked. Mancire lead her over to the cell that was unlocked and pointed at its back wall. "The mage came through that wall there." Alcove walked over to the wall and examined it. She scanned the wall with her mind and realized to her horror, that it was an illusion. She inhaled deeply and suddenly ran through the wall. When she was on the other side, she saw what confirmed her suspicions. It was an illusion machine and it was running. She looked away from it and saw to her amazement that there were several tunnels leading away from it and they were all magically dug out of the rock. She decided that exploration was unwise without escorts and other fighters with her, so she turned around and went back through the illusion wall. She turned to Mancire. "Mancire, I need you to find Fluffy, he is still missing. I must go and tell Baltazar what I have found. Regardless of whether you can or can't find Fluffy, come back here and watch that wall. But keep out of site and if you see something or someone come through again, come and tell me at once. The mage that attacked you was just surveying the surroundings. You were just an inconvenience to them, so they tried to kill you before you got word out. Thank goodness you are a hardy little devil. Now I am off." Alcove turned around and began to make her way to Baltazar to tell him the bad news. OOC: How is that for a scene, Zephyr? I made good use of the odd happenings. Sorry if this spoils anything for the rebels. -------------------- (Looks around in the Study) Colonel Mustard: "Just checking." Mrs. Peacock: "Everything all right?" Colonel Mustard: "Yep.
