It fell through for several reasons. Certain people had trouble actually doing anything, satisfactory hosting never was found, and it was basically redundant. It doesn't really kill people to go to a couple different sites to find what they need. Anyway, the work I did on the Megasite ended up becoming the BoE Graphics Database; that was lost to a server crash and I never felt like rebuilding the database by hand, for understandable reasons. The Megasite was a solution in search of a problem, and overambitious at that. -------------------- I've got a pyg in a poke. Posts: 999 | Registered: Friday, June 27 2003 07:00 |

Oh, god. Don't remind me of the Megasite. :-p Also, you arrived at the Lyceum in spring 2001, being that the Solberg thing was in March of that year. http://p080.ezboard.com/fthelyceumfrm20.showMessage?topicID=1.topic Hm. -------------------- I've got a pyg in a poke. I certainly hope so. The last one is getting sort of floppy and stretched out. We need fresh meat -- I mean, fresh-faced new members with a new outlook on the world! Yeah. -------------------- I've got a pyg in a poke. Posts: 999 | Registered: Friday, June 27 2003 07:00 |

This week marks The Desperance Network's third year of existance. We're celebrating this amazing milestone -- three years of my life, wasted -- with a flurry of articles, old and new. All of your favorite crap articles from as far back as 2001 will be reposted! A new article by Bob the Impaler is up, and you can look forward to articles by Mr. Smartey Man, Big Poppa Sexy, Alec and more. Also, we'll probably make the SW boards our gimp. Keep a tight grip on your panties. That's the most incoherent piece of crap I've ever read. It somehow manages to be alarming whilst ignoring just about every substantive issue that actually exists. -------------------- I've got a pyg in a poke. Posts: 999 | Registered: Friday, June 27 2003 07:00 |

quote:Fixed your typo. Anyway. RPs are what I like to call aggregations of timber. They are bundles of sticks. And like all bundles of sticks, they should be burned. I mean, seriously. You went through all this time archiving the boards. Mariann TOLD you that there's a dearth of board space. Yet you are planning on making a topic whose utility ranks roughly between "Connections" and "What did you just eat?" Seriously. -------------------- I've got a pyg in a poke. quote:Well, I remember Lamentations as coming out just days after I showed up at the ITW Lyceum. 6/22/00 - Added Lamentations page and scenario. Changed the poll. Thus spake Alcritas. So I've been around for... dear God. Four years. I joined the SW boards in order to post in TM's Inn of Blades signup topic. I don't remember when that was, but I didn't really heavily involve myself for a while. Desperance started in August 2001; soon after SW switched to UBB and, uh, either Scorp or TM got demodded, the Desp Boards started upon pressure from those worthies to provide a less regimented alternative to the SW boards. Anyway, I'm still a newbie. Thuryl is at least three or four years older in the community than I. -------------------- I've got a pyg in a poke. Posts: 999 | Registered: Friday, June 27 2003 07:00 |

I don't consider myself an oldbie, either, and I predate both the SW boards and the ezBoard Lyceum. That still means that compared to Alcritas, Brett Bixler, Stareye, Caligula, Thuryl, Alec, Drakefyre, Big Words, and so forth, I'm a spring chicken. I wasn't around for Dencity Lyceum, for example. I wasn't around in Zaloopa's heyday, nor Aceron's. It's all about perspective. -------------------- I've got a pyg in a poke. Posts: 999 | Registered: Friday, June 27 2003 07:00 |

I'm glad people are being polite to Whyte. Keep it up. *fondles the Yaoi Gun* I think Tempo's leg gives a sort of comic effect -- that he's leaning way back out of surprise. I can't really explain it, but I like it. -------------------- I've got a pyg in a poke. Posts: 999 | Registered: Friday, June 27 2003 07:00 |

I can cite about 247 reasons why people insult you. EDIT: 249 now. "The pipeline will heat up the water! And warm up the animals!" God. I'll give you one thing, though. You're not nearly as annoying as ben1488 or Micael. Or Overwhelming, for that matter. Hide from Recent Visitors feature? No X Yes ironycentral's server temporarily blocked my IP for spidering and mirroring the boards. Probably because I was averaging something like three requests a second. It was probably smashing the server. I could have turned on random-delay, but I really don't care enough. You shouldn't be learning a programming language if you don't know enough about computers to separate the stuff you can use out of a book. Seriously.
