We had a lovely sunrise this morning, but my camera unfortunately isn't built for that kind of thing. The morning was clear, bright and literally "red" - everything was tinted by a rosy dawn light. Exactly like the weather we had last year on this day. :) This almost makes up for the fact that we won't see any snow before January. -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. He said "all good things must come to an end" and then described his stay here. Between him having just been diagnosed with terminal cancer, and him simply trying to see how long he can kid us into panicking, I'm expecting just about anything. But personally, I won't believe Alorael stops posting until I see the body. OOC: Nanowrimo released me from its clutches. I'm in. Wait a bit. Also, Alec will return. Not to detract from the great man, but his "I'm Leaving Like Forever" has ended up being empty bravado several times before. Okay. Ready. Let me get my maps and stuff back together. What was the plot? Where did we end up? Who else is missing - I'll send out a few PMs/emails if necessary. Slarty, where's your roster? Is it up to date? Haul anchor! Note that my novel is structured as novel | +-- chapter | +-- scene While Dikiyoba's scripts are structured as episode | +-- part | +-- chapter So a better comparison would be 18k in 3 parts to 50k in 6 chapters (or 15 chapters to 24 scenes)... quote:Tonight? 53-54k, most likely. When it reaches the ending I had planned, somewhere between 65-70k. At least this year there isn't any atrocious word-padding inside it that needs to be removed before it can be properly read. The edited version could actually end up slightly longer than this. The Breaking (Nano 2006). Technically, I've earned this: By putting in just over 50,000 words. In practice, the last chapter ends in mid-sentence, and I'm going to need some time to finish it. I'll bring the story to some preliminary closure by tomorrow, and then finish the actual ending at a later time. Opon Mars, you have 6 posts. Nobody cares what you think. I sense a pattern here: I start off with a huge headstart, you want to give up about half way, then I stop working for a week, you catch up... and then ye are in Scotland afore me. :P Anyway, I'll finish tonight :D -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. I "left" during the elections last year and it was completely ridiculous because for the week I managed to keep off my main account, I used a second one to post about once a day. That's "absent". :P Edit: This is gettign annoying. Yesterdy I kept confusing Nikki for MagmaDragoon; today I keep confusing Thuryl for Tyran. Might be the cafeine and sleep drepivtaion. Finnish can kill a thread? Further arguments for learning it. That would be so much more original than using images. PERKELE! -- On another note: 47308. Yes, the last week I did practically nothing. It always turns out like this somehow. On the plus side, it keeps the whole challenge exciting right up until the last minute. -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. Sear... wasn't there a quest to kill three very old, powerful rogues in G1? I seem to remember I only ever found two of them, so this one might be the third. Or I could be remembering it wrongly. I last touched Geneforge in 2005. -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. Since AIM apparently doesn't work for Nikki: My new web host doesn't mind the IRC webclient that the old one shut off in summer. The URL is still http://irc.ermarian.net . If you have an IRC client, that is a lot better, but the web client will work even through firewalls. quote:So this wouldn't be gimmick theft? Alorael doesn't appreciate imitators... Dikiyoba's latest addition to Dikiyoba's story is great. Arancaytar is well pleased. But Arancaytar also wonders: If they are in the Avernum Trilogy forum, why do they feel hungry? Oh, right. They're resting. :P -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast.
