So we've talked a bit and come to this conclusion: A posting game that is limited to a single thread is moderately acceptable. A posting game that includes multiple polls, which both fill up the forums and use up much disk space, isn't. If you absolutely need to know which caption is most popular, use some site that provides free polls. There are plenty. Link to said poll can then be posted in the main topic. :) Servus! PS: Alo, I left you the other one as desired... -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. I found it with Google. I was looking for another, captioned one ("There's still some life left in 'er!"), but didn't find it. The analogy for this topic would be a project status meeting to see how much the horse has moved since we started to flog it. -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. Nikki: Watch the language. I probably wouldn't say anything, but you know that the management has been fairly strict lately. It's been clean so far, but the last one looked pretty close. ;) [ Monday, November 27, 2006 06:28: Message edited by: krautnuts ] -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. From an older topic: quote:This was discussed for a while, but beyond the conclusions that either a) Erika is a self-aggrandizing liar, b) Solberg is making a mischievous jab at her greatest pride, c) the Vahnatai Did It™, and humans are arrogant as a rule or d) Jeff didn't take notes and messed it all up, we didn't really establish what had happened. Since Erika specifically complained that she is not credited, I get the sense that this is deliberate (against d). Solberg doesn't have a grudge against Erika (*she* didn't summon demons), and no reason to lie (against b). Erika, however, has accomplished so much that she doesn't need to steal glory (against a). It's a trivial issue, but it's always nagged at me for some reason. So I'm asking Jeff: Who made the glowing fungus in Avernum? If it wasn't Erika, why does she claim to have done it? If it was, why does Solberg claim she didn't? Since I don't know how often he comes here outside of BoA or Geneforge these days, I'll probably email him, too. quote:Okay, you got me. It wouldn't really be "air" (and I don't say that as in "marry"). Somehow I got stuck on that while trying to put it in phonetic writing. Think rather of "arrow", only with an "an" in the end. -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. quote:Not sure what you mean. And I rather think that "ear" or "ere" would have done the job without resorting to German - unless of course it *is* about the r. Which would raise questions about the pronunciation of Novah. Hm. pronunciation. to pronounce. My spelling checker tells me there are only two o's in the former, as in the thread title, even though it looks awfully wrong to me somehow. Meh. I'll trust the spelling checker.
