"If he goes to Vietnam, I want a Sholai in a bowl of rice ready to bust a cap in his ass."

That's from the end of Trajkov's journal in G1. He's talking about Goettsch. It's set to never be displayed.

Hee.

Not having finished G1 and not knowing Goettsch, I am unable to comprehend the joke. Please enlighten me; spoilers welcome...

Trajkov is the leader of the Sholai (outsiders on the island gaining Shaper secrets). Goettsch is the powerful Shaper he originally kidnapped before your character. Goettsch escaped to the other side of the island with a pair of gloves that Trajkov needs.

Few people who attend Spiderweb frequently have meaningful pastimes. -X- included.

I know this isn't an intentional one, more like a forgotten quest, and that I've pointed it out before, but there's this in Pentil Woods of G1:

quote:
begintalknode 5;
state = -1;
personality = 0;
nextstate = -1;
condition = get_sdf(12,10) == 0 && get_flag(12,8) == 0 && get_flag(12,9) > 0;
text1 = "You find a secluded glade full of old, gnawed bones. They look like they came from ornks. Mostly.";
text2 = "Remembering what you were told, you carefully watch the underbrush. It doesn't take long to see Sear. The moment you spot it, it roars and runs out of the undergrowth.";
text3 = "It's old. It's far older than fyoras were designed to live. It's getting slow and it's covered with scars, but decades of battle have honed its skills and placed a little bit of cunning in its dumb, savage, rogue brain.";
action = SET_SDF 12 10 1;
code =
activate_hidden_group(6);
break;

The things you find reading scripts. Next you need to modify the scripts to be able to access them in game play.

Sear... wasn't there a quest to kill three very old, powerful rogues in G1? I seem to remember I only ever found two of them, so this one might be the third.

Or I could be remembering it wrongly. I last touched Geneforge in 2005.

That was in GF2.

I tried to think of something witty to put here.

Needless to say, I failed.

-X- could have sworn that he fought a fyora named Sear late in the game. . . Somewhere near that one place. . . Caves. . . Pylons and Turrets. . . Lots and lots of sacks and pots. . . Ah well.
