I've just had my first proper run-in with Avernum 4 the last couple of days. I beleive I've done most of the stuff there is do in the demo section, and ordered the full game. Now while I'm waiting I'm wondering how to best utilize my unspent skill points. These are my characters so far: http://img470.imageshack.us/img470/6794/fighterfd0.jpg (The fighter now has 20 sp, not 18, as he just drank a knowledge brew.) http://img470.imageshack.us/img470/1453/magewx1.jpg Obviously I regret getting tool use on my fighter but I'm not gonna start over just because of that. So where oh where do I invest? The obvious choices seem to be +1 Meele for fighter which would enable Quick Strike. And +1 Mage Spells for the mage to access Magery. If I go out to a club I'll usually have 5-7 drinks over 3-4 hours and stick to water after that. A binge for me is 5-6 in an hour or 9+ over an evening. I'm taking classes in chemistry/physics/maths/programming after screwing up royally in (the Swedish equivalent of) high school. I'll probably be studying physics or computer sciece at uni a couple of years from now, while writing and producing music on the side until people recognize my amazing :rolleyes: talent... It's pretty damn cold and lonely down here in Cocytus... It's not where I expected to be, coming from a conservative christian family in a quite secular(-ized?, sp?) country. Quite an interesting test though, if I answer no to "Can you see yourself engaging in treason against your country" I either end up in Dis or in Level 2 depending on if I believe in God or not (which usually varies with mood/weather/time-of-day/what-I-had-for-lunch etc). I think both Sir David's and Arancayatar's criticism is partly constructive even if their tone is negative. I do think you need to learn to deal with that. Though I dont think anyone else is bothered as much by your "lack of adaptation to the 'ideal' RP Style" as you yourself are. If people criticise your RPing, you simply do your best to adapt, and if that isnt good enough for them, that's their problem, no need to blow it out of proportion. I'm using Windows XP. Microsoft needs to recognize that user-friendly does not equal beginner-friendly.
