:D It's not a big problem indoors, but it's frustrating in outdoor battles not to be able to pick up javelins or arrows, because they won't merge. -------------------- Polaris Rache's A3 Site reformatted 2/3 done Rache's A3 Site, original version Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

Does anybody else experience this once in a while? I thought it was my own fault when it first appeared , because I changed the resolution while the game was running. But even with a new game it appears in random frequencies. -------------------- Polaris Rache's A3 Site reformatted 2/3 done Rache's A3 Site, original version Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

There's an area with huge boulders or standing stones south of Marralis. Go there and you'll find out. Piercing crystals are to be got in the magery school. Somreth is the priestess in Marralis. She'll reward you for getting her a rune stone. So here we go, .gif this time: MAP This is the original that Aran sent me. I checked both. PC users will probably only notice that the .jpg is sharper. Sorry for the loss of details it caused on a Mac. Edit 2: Ok. Replaced it with MSW's Angelfire pic. Hope this works now. That is not Aran's fault. I changed the .gif to a .jpg to reduce the file size. I felt sorry for those on dial-up, who would have had to wait a full minute for the map to load. But if you disagree very strongly, I'll return the pic to .gif-format. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

But it says on the spidweb site: Win 95 or later. So whatever is missing, it can't be due to your windows version. -------------------- Polaris Rache's A3 Site reformatted 2/3 done Rache's A3 Site, original version Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

I like that you make me look at my language with an outsider's eyes. Makes me aware of things I wouldn't have noticed myself. A 'Maschinenrevolte' is a 'Maschinenrevolte', regardless of singulars or plurals. Worse, it refers to a process within the machine/s and/or a process the machine/s started elsewhere. So much for precision. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

You may not be using the plural, but you should. Even if it were just one machine revolting, we'd call this a 'Maschinenrevolte'. Sorry, maybe not very logical, but that's how it is. But there are other possibilities like for instance 'Roboteraufstand', 'Robo-Revolte', 'Stahl und Eisen Revoluzzer', 'Alu-Aufstand', 'Techno-Revolte', etc. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

quote:But that's what people immediately associate with it. I haven't heard it used in any other context. The image is not so much one of unrest, rather upheaval and creating a mess. The verb 'leben' is not irregular. leben - lebte - gelebt 'lebe' is 'Imperativ' (sorry, don't know the english equivalent). Yes, you ask (want) the revolution to live long. Other examples: Lang lebe der König! Hell scheine die Sonne. Warm sei der Sommer. No, children don't memorize words. They catch the associations. 'umstürzen': ein Baum stürzt um = a tree falls down. Ever seen a tree fall after a storm? That's quite a mess and a bit of an upheaval too. Revolution is 'Revolution'. If you want a synonym: 'Umwälzung'. Ah, now I know what you are looking for: 'Umsturz'. Lang lebe die Revolution (der Umsturz). [ Monday, May 31, 2004 17:49: Message edited by: ef ] -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

quote:It didn't make sense to me either, when I played the scenario. Nor did I understand, why speaking up should make Palhatis an enemy, so dangerous that he had to be murdered. And the stone that opened the school, why was it hidden in the vicinity as well as the instructions on how to operate the lower level. Palhatis couldn't have done it. He was dead by then. The only context that brought these puzzling pieces together was for me to imagine that Vinnia never intended to stop the basement activities. Quickfire would have destroyed all, so yes, she'd want to avoid that. And whoever suggested it would endanger her plans and herself. If she thought of secretly returning after a while, then it all made sense. But maybe her own end was closer than she anticipated. In the visitors' section is a throne room. When you sit down on that throne, a spirit appears, and I well remember its first sentence: 'I was Vinnia.'. -------------------- Polaris Rache's A3 Site reformatted 2/3 done Rache's A3 Site, original version Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

A clan reaction is what you understand it to be: a member of a group tuning into an argument to defend and support other members of the same group. But 'uninteresting clan reaction' does not mean that he is not interested in your opinions. It just means that he sees Kyna's post more as a 'clan reaction' than as an individual opinion. -------------------- Polaris Rache's A3 Site reformatted 2/3 done Rache's A3 Site, original version Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

300MB all in all? I checked. The .rar-archives of my two pages sum up to 1,62MB. Even if we had to have two different versions for Mac and PC, compression should reduce the overall size quite a bit. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |
