That is not how the map is supposed to look. I sent it in a gif format and it somehow got turned into a jpeg file. That is exactly how my first attempt at the map was ruined. I made the mistake of changing it from a bitmap to a jpeg and the colors all blurred. I will try to somehow get a correct version of the map for people to see. I will be starting the RP Saturday morning, if I wake up in time to that is. Otherwide I will post it early in the afternoon. -------------------- (Looks around in the Study) Colonel Mustard: "Just checking." Mrs. Peacock: "Everything all right?" Colonel Mustard: "Yep. That is not Aran's fault. I changed the .gif to a .jpg to reduce the file size. I felt sorry for those on dial-up, who would have had to wait a full minute for the map to load. But if you disagree very strongly, I'll return the pic to .gif-format. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1828 | Registered: Saturday, January 11 2003 08:00 |

You are aware that .png is smaller than either other format and lossless, right? -------------------- AnamaFreak (3:59:56 AM): Shounen-ai to the MAX ...there really is nothing that can compare to hot gay sex with a mythological icon. --665 Posts: 2367 | Registered: Friday, June 27 2003 07:00 |

No, in this case you are wrong. I checked and .png is smaller than .gif, but not smaller than .jpg. Though you appear to be right on the fact that it is lossless in quality. I don't try to sound mean about it, but the detail found in the .gif file is critical to understanding the map key completely. You might as well convert it back. I spent an hour here trying to create an Angelfire account, and I am not getting very far. You will save me time and energy. Thanks for your efforts though. -------------------- (Looks around in the Study) Colonel Mustard: "Just checking." Mrs. Peacock: "Everything all right?" Colonel Mustard: "Yep. Two corpses. So here we go, .gif this time: MAP This is the original that Aran sent me. I checked both. PC users will probably only notice that the .jpg is sharper. Sorry for the loss of details it caused on a Mac. Edit 2: Ok. Replaced it with MSW's Angelfire pic. Hope this works now. T BtI I'm channeling Thuryl, and he spells it that way. I doubt any Brits really say "wot wot" either. :-p -------------------- Beatoff Valley: A story told out of order. Posts: 999 | Registered: Friday, June 27 2003 07:00 |

Ok...somewhere along the line my picture was blurred. I had someone else look at the original and then the one you linked to ef and they are different in quality. I would feel better if the correct one were shown, so here is a link to the way the map should look. I feel that the detail is crucial...not to mention my perfectionism drives me to make sure the correct version is seen. http://www.angelfire.com/pa5/sherlock_holmes/Valley_of_Thunder_2.GIF Copy and paste it to a new internet page. The damn link won't work. [ Friday, June 04, 2004 19:55: Message edited by: Sherlock Holmes ] -------------------- (Looks around in the Study) Colonel Mustard: "Just checking." I said you need to cut and paste the web address. You cannot click on it. -------------------- (Looks around in the Study) Colonel Mustard: "Just checking." Mrs. Peacock: "Everything all right?"
