Shouldn't matter really... file sizes are gunna be low anyway... graphics don't hold too much information.

And sorry about that e-mail/link thing, but I was looking at some site (don't remember what it was, I thought it was your's Brett) and it said it only wanted links to the graphic. Sorry about that... and I'll have some item graphics available soon!

Edit: Spelling... well typing actually

Possibly off topic, but we can e-mail you the graphics right? We don't have to have an online link to it?

How so? BOA graphics are larger (generally). Not sure what you meant by "easier than BOE"

Geez I hope Fireball makes it back... It seems a lot more logical than multiple, ultra-accurate balls of fire that always find a target.

Edit: Typing errors... bane of the common man

Maybe I'm wrong but I just saw your name on the "Most Recent Register" thinge. So I'm not gunna bash you for not paying attention to past posts about this.

No new spells, though scenario specific scripts can act like spells quite effectively. Something like 'Animate Dead' that you mentioned wouldn't be possible anyway, as when things die, there is no body left behind.

I doubt it, LoL. Truth be told, he rarely posts (he might check, and take notes) on topics that he doesn't start. On ones that he does start, he'll check back for a couple of days then quit apparently. Oh well...

Hey hey... why you hatin' Bond flicks? Bond rules all (screw xXx crap), and in fact, you just gave me an idea! Make scenarioes based of James Bond movie plots! Ingenius!

Custom (or whatever) Sounds in Blades of Avernum

Nicol Bolas: I wasn't really talking about actual songs. Nothing like modern songs or anything recorded for that matter. I was gunna record something myself (with some help from the girlfriend) and then convert/edit. And it was just for a lady in the streets of a major town singing for money. Nothing big but oh well... a 400kb loop would have worked but I guess not.

Edit: LOL post 123

Wait so if you register, you'll have a special download of the full version? Dandy! But we'll still get it on CD, too, I hope.

BOA will be more than, overly, completly, entirely, likly be distributed on CD. If there is an alternate means for special reasons, I don't know. I'm not entirely sure either why you can't just have one version, and a key to unlock it. Maybe it doesn't work well with the scenario editor? Who knows? Well Jeff does, but that's beside the point. Point is, if you want BOA, risk it on your current CD-ROM drive. If you lied and just said it didn't "work well", which actually meant that you didn't have one... then well... that sucks for you.

Or just buy a new drive! I'm sure BOA will be worth it! Hey, BOE is still in its prime of play, though it will be cut short by BOA. I'm positive it WOULD HAVE been continued to be played for years to come... but BOA is killing it off.

Haha... unless someone makes an "Avernum 3 3xp4n$i0n p4ck!" (sorry bout that 1337, but uhh yea I was making fun of someone that would do that, calling them a '1337 h4x0r').

Wow... I hope no one does that...

Oh btw Draky... if you're a member of the Triad, then who are the other 2? I haven't seen them around...

Concerning Custom Graphics and Macs... in Blades of Avernum
Guardian
Member # 2238

Not sure I understand but I'll try to answer anyway...

Yes that's what Windows does anyway. Graphics are in a folder called Data, which means the graphics are no with the actual executable. So what I'm saying is, for greater ease, Jeff should make another folder called 'Scenarioes'. You would place the scenario file in that along with the graphics. OR put another folder inside Scenarioes and call it 'Graphics'. All too simple, I can't wait to see how Jeff is setting it up.

That sounds the most logical... for Windows just another folder named "scenarioes". And all you have to do is put the correct files into it. I don't know how Mac works these days, so I'm not gunna say anything...

I never took the time to play Age of Wonders so I don't know what you're talking about. But anyway... I think it's spelled 'simultaneous', or that to some degree.

You were thinking to hard!

edit: that last line there^

Uhh yea... in case you didn't know (which you apparently didn't), BOA is based almost completely on user created scenarioes (ie... quests). You'll download them, install them to the correct place, place the custom graphics if there are any, and load up BOA. If it's anything like BOE, there will be simply a button to press and a list to chose from. All too easy.... So yes I guess the answer is "YES". I'm almost positive that people will make massive battles. Although this is a problem to me because I'm impatient, and don't like waiting while all the OTHER things have their turn. Darn turn-based combat...

What happened to the GAME of BoA? in Blades of Avernum
Guardian

Yea... I'm planning on immediatly starting 2 scenarioes when BOA is released. 1 will be nothing more than a newbie's tour, showing him the ropes. It'll be short and easy, but I'll make it actually good to the point that anyone MIGHT get something out of it (if not xp, just fun).

The other one is just my scenario that I've been planning for a while now.

Well I don't know about you, but I'm gunna buy it regardless to what anyone says! Even if PCGamer (my favorite mag, and my precious...) says it sucks, I'll buy it anyway. I usually follow what they say but I've made 2 exceptions. BOA will be mine!

So maybe YOU want a demo, but I don't! I realize the importance. And I realize we'll get it anyway, but I could care less about it. And that's all I have to say about that.

Bah! Who needs a demo? A demo will just be like an A3 demo. If the editor demo is going to be anything like BOE demo (which it is) then you can't play any scenarioes that you make, making it next to useless. I know, I know... people could use it for testing, but then again, the demos have all been released at the same time as the full game. So there for, pretty much anyone that would want BOA would just buy the game, not just download a demo that has VODT and a useless editor.

Also... the "BOA Gold" idea isn't a bad one, but it's way too late for Jeff to even consider that.

Wow... I was thinking that all along. I didn't think everyone didn't know that that was a logical solution. Oh well... yea it is, and infact that's how it's done in most RPGs. Speaking of course about the grouped items with the numbers.
