Yep! I wonder what the fourth will be... Bandit Busywork anybody? (read: joke) I hope it's something unique. The original 3 seem pretty unique to me, as in plots that weren't touched before. But that's me... -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

New site design... nice... Not that I could do any better, but the old one seems so... clumsy? I'm not sure what it is but it didn't feel right. I'm sure this one will be much better. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

All said is true, but Jeff promised one in the beginning. My guess is he has something up his sleeve that'll make us all go "oh man! I can't believe I didn't think of that!" Let us just pray... -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

Thought so. I just didn't feel like editting my post and putting that on there. (don't take this in a bad way) I'm sure there is going to be a lot of plots similar to that. Choosing who's good or bad. Wait... Small Rebellion... -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

Try not to get off topic with this one... I remember talking a lot back in the day (the day being the beginning of the boa area of forums) about the ability to translate BOE scenarios into BOA scenarios, all you needed was the password. Then no one talked about it for a long time... so I'm wondering if we still know thats possible. Maybe Jeff ran into some code problems with it, I don't know. Or changed his mind. But are we still going to have this feature? If so, it's a good idea to go ahead and start your scenario now, in BOE, for obvious reasons. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! You might as well call it "XYZ's Masterpiece" now. (saying, of course, that's how he/she has refered to it for quite a while...) Is this is the same "masterpiece" that was once entitled 'An Evil Wizard?'. If so, are you (the player) working for the evil wizard? Or do you just do random bad stuff on top of that. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

Hmm... You've just given me an idea for another scenario I'll do. (outside of my trilogy of course) And I don't really think that worrying about good/evil players is that important. Since you made the scenario, the user has the option of playing the scenario or not. If he/she doesn't want to be good, then they can quit the scenario and start another one. So make scenarios based on what YOU would like to see happening... not what the player wants to happen. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! I voted for: Doing Good, Being Challenged, and To Burst with Laughter. I always like to play to good guy in games, I love being challenged by someone else's genious, and I have that a lot of designers should stick to just playing the scenarios... -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! I agree. But like I said, I'm only the messenger. The moderators don't really like multi-posts. I can see why but it's not my place to say anything about it. I mean hey, when I first came here I got told the same thing. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

Schro, you sure? I didn't realize it took that long between. It certainly didn't seem like that for A3. Of course, BOA is a little more complex... but I still doubt 2-3 months is correct. Of course I could be wrong. And probably am. But I say a month at tops! Here's to the best! *chugs* [ Wednesday, June 25, 2003 09:31: Message edited by: EEP_Karzoth ] -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! It pains me to inform all of you... Your idea to e-mail Jeff personally was not only the first of it's kind (many people have done this, same topic), but he still has yet to change his mind. Who knows, maybe he really did change his mind after that. But I wouldn't count on it. Everyone gets that answer. Don't count your chickens before they hatch. He seemed very confident that the extra steps needed to drop stuff would be a pain, and better left out. But ok, that's just what I've been told. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! All too true... I personally like to cheat in single-player games sometimes (not all the time!). Especially first-person shooters. It's funner for me to do things unheard of. Like leaping from skyscrapers with guns blazing... and hitting the ground without a scratch. I dunno... But multiplayer games definatly: cheating to me is a No-No! If you're not good enough to compete with non-cheaters online without cheating, then go play something you're better at. I've always felt as if Jeff did a great job a making things balanced. Which is why I think he should look into developing a multiplayer game in the future. Not massivly-multiplayer, but multiplayer. Like Diablo2's style or similar. It shall be great fun! uh... god... waisted post. Hey I like this Churl guy! -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

I agree with that last part. Of course I've always felt that way. You always hear about games/patches/mods that have their release dates held back because "balancing" the weapons is needed. Well if there is no one to take advantage of, then why? ...I'm not at all saying that Jeff is holding things back to balance. So don't take it that way. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Me either. And the "one mouse button on Macs" thing isn't too true either. I used to have a Mac, back a couple years ago, and while it came with a single button mouse, I bought a multi-button one. And it worked great. Until I tried to upgrade to MacOS-8, and effectivly killed my computer. Oh, how I miss ye, dear Mac. Ye was so faithful, unlike this piece of crap Windows I'm using now. I'll let you know when I want "fries" with my order... get rid of this extra crap. [Edit:] Hmm. I seem to have wandered a bit off topic... Amazingly, on Windows (I don't know about Mac), right-clicking activates the look command. So your complaint about having to click on the 'Eye' button isn't entirely correct... -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

Ok... I can tell neither of you were that involved in the BOE community. Names get "stolen" all the time. You might think it's original, but you can bet someone else has thought of it, too. And no one has started 'developing' their scenarios yet... planning yes, but what does that guarentee? That someone else, who has PLANNED more than you, won't take your name because they were stumped? No, I don't think it does. Also mocking people is a quick way to lose friends around here... It's probably not a good idea to be throwing around names like that. Well that is if you want to keep the name to yourself... -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

A little heavy on the faces... AND people need to stop posting about stuff that can be done with the editor. I know I'm being a ***** but telling people what you think should be there is stupid. Do it yourself, you will be able to... And yea now that I think of it, my memories of Smite and Shield Mace were from a "2d" world, meaning that I was thinking of Exile. Oh well. Too bad as of right now we can't carry custom-graphic items from scenario to scenario. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

"(without removing others, I would really miss movemountain..." He isn't removing Move Mountains. "spells which seem useless NOT removed but made more effective (like terror and summoning)" There is no way that Terror could ever work properly, at least that I can think of. And I haven't found summoning useless. Am I alone? And I think you are forgetting that we have a BOA Editor... meaning that we can make/change items to our please. Which means half the stuff you said, you could make yourself. And back to axes/maces: What about Shield Mace, and Smite? Those were in A3. I'm pretty sure they were and they are both maces...
