Idea - 'Cutscenes' in Blades of Avernum

Good, cuz I had an idea to make a starting cutscene of a rather large war. ALSO, can we put these cutscenes anywhere in the game? Like say, you just destroyed an evil, magical tower, and instead of making the player find an exit and escape, you show a cutscene of them getting crushed but miraculasly(sp) just push the rubble off of them, getting away with minor scratches. And when the cutscene is over, you transport them to right outside what is now a large, burning pile of rubble. Bad idea, good idea? Or better yet, even possible?

Eh... agreed to a degree. I incourage people to take however long they need to make a game, but in some cases, it just gets ridiculus (TF2,DN:F,HL,CS:CZ...).

Yes, mine is gunna be good. Not like those other ones. I do know what you're talking about when you refer to those, and trust me it won't be like those. The plot isn't just defeating the goblins. They are just the main enemy. It'll be good, I'm confident (not boasting) that a good number of people will like it. But... if you have worries, e-mail me and tell me what you want to see included/deleted.

Yea I agree. I've heard all over that people are saying it'll be at least 2 and a half years. Personally... that's plain absurd. I KNOW it's gunna' seem that long (god i feel like an 8 year old waiting for christmas), but a year and half is way more resonable. Say what you like, but once Jeff gets what he's doin' down pat, it'll move along real smooth like (haha)! Just don't lose faith people. Jeff has yet to upset us. And while I'm sure we ALL want this game now (i know i do), it isn't gunna take forever!

A Goblin doing 6000dmg? Haha that'll be the day. The little farts have like 10hp! AND THAT'S why they are the focus of my scenario. But it isn't gunna be a walk through. There will lots of them buggaz. Too bad you won't be able to put ambidextrious-ism to use...

And a Marksmanship special skill right? I heard that somewhere from the BOSS and I hope I got that right. Finally my archer/warrior can kick it in both fields. ALSO, did I hear right that Ambidextrious(sp) is coming back? I was hoping it would but I'm not sure if that came from a reliable source. If it's not coming back, then my planned characters are gunna have to change :( .

Haha... I remeber the days of slow internet. Thank God for uber-cable... 465megs in a little less that 20 minutes. I love it. That means I can download all of these wonderful games by Jeff (and further more, custom scenarioes by other people) in a couple seconds at the most.

My guess is a tree... ex: NPCintro->PC1,PC2,PC3...PC1->NPC1...PC2->NPC2...etc... I know barely any of you are going to understand that but... it should be something like a family tree. Except with dialogue paths. But you already knew that.

BUT I honestly don't think it's gunna be THAT long til BOA is released (well lets hope not). And while I do actually prefer the old Exile look (2d topdown), I think BOA has greater potential. And besides, I'm already definatly registering BOA and if I registered BOE now, it would just go to waste in a couple months.
