I wouldn't say the Bible can't be proven, it's a book, it's kind of hard to say "This book doesn't exist". What can't be proven is how we should treat it as a book, should we view it as a history book, a law book, a guide book or a fictional book? It's one of the reasons why there's so many different splinters of Christianity, a lot of them are varied in how they view the Bible. One thing I'd also find worth considering when attempting to interpret the Bible is the process of metamorphism through re-telling, which especially with something as old as the Bible is likely to have caused at least some parts of it to have changed from their original meaning and intent when the stories within it were originally told. Personally I'm of the belief that there is definite uncertainty. That is, while there is no good way of proving the existence of a deity or deities, there is also no good way of disproving their existence. I'm also of the belief however that worshiping a deity or deities is generally a bad idea; if a deity is benevolent, s/he would much rather be seeing you doing something else, while if s/he is not benevolent it doesn't seem like a good idea to draw attention to yourself. And if you aren't certain that a deity or deities exists, there is also little point in worshiping them, mostly because of the previous two points. Presumably this makes me Agnostic. quote:I can recall reading that yes. Hapless started out as pitifully weak as you'd imagine but quickly got very powerful indeed since he was gaining experience at extremely high rates, while Avatar started off quite strong but lost out in the on getting stronger since he gained far less skill points than Hapless ever did over the same amount of gameplay. And if you're trying to be a party all by yourself, you want skill points. [ Wednesday, July 11, 2007 03:28: Message edited by: Chicken ] Posts: 206 | Registered: Tuesday, September 3 2002 07:00 |

Could I suggest we rename the Banned title to Empired? It seems kind of amusing given the context of the Exile/Avernum games. [ Wednesday, July 04, 2007 01:08: Message edited by: Chicken ] Posts: 206 | Registered: Tuesday, September 3 2002 07:00 |

It could be that if you never spoke to Empress Prazac (Or at least, didn't accept her mission) you also wouldn't get rescued? I'm unsure how you'd get into Footracer Province if you'd never done so though... Posts: 206 | Registered: Tuesday, September 3 2002 07:00 |

Attacking definitely only cost 5 action points in Geneforge 4's Windows version as well. It just cost all your remaining action points as well if you didn't have enough action points to make a second attack, which is why you should always use your items first and your normal attacks second. Magery is (I think) for all spells. As I recall the Drake's boon is giving the Blademaster ability to all your characters, Blademaster is basically Magery for melee. Posts: 206 | Registered: Tuesday, September 3 2002 07:00 |

One piece is in Benerii-Uss Shaping, the second in Benerii-Uss Holding and the final in the Geneforge area. I'd recommend checking Schrodinger's FAQ if you need more detailed descriptions for finding the pieces. You can go for full keyboard control with Avernum as well. Numpad for movement with the alphabetical keys for various quick talk, get, etc. buttons. Geneforge, on the other hand, does need a mouse to play. More on the subject, I should still have the original Exile on a floppy disk somewhere, now if only my computer still had a floppy disk drive... Their efforts failed however, and the blade was broken into three seperate pieces, one piece taken by the nefarious Cheeseball, one by the Not-All-That-Dark-But-Not-Quite-Light-Either Slithzerikai, and one by the Leech Drat. Can you recover Chitrachslayer and imprison the Chitrach Lord Argh-Hot once more?" Just a curiosity thing, but what's with all the suggestion topics always containing people saying "I hope it'll be an MMORPG!", it's been going on for as long as I've been lurking around here, and I've been lurking a good while. MMORPGs aren't some kind of magical band-aid fix-it-all this'll be awesome, in fact, they tend to be the opposite. There are many good MMORPGs and many more very bad MMORPGs, and while you could probably convert the Exile/Avernum setting to one, I don't think it'd really add anything to the games. Adding multiplayer to games that don't need it really just means you get something that isn't any good at all. Not to mention you're basically diverging into a different genre. Making an MMORPG isn't as simple as taking an RPG and than adding online capabilities. It's much like suggesting the next Exile game should be a first person shooter. quote:Not to mention it nicely sets up the storyline for a few different conclusions. The Shapers know the Rebels can unleash something pretty horrible through shaping, the (non-drakon) Rebels know they want to win, but don't want go quite that far. Than we get a PC being able to choose a fair amount of different possibilities. Will you bring peace between the Rebels and the Shapers? Will you help the Drakons survive on their own and help them make a new Unbound? Do you help the Shapers subdue the Rebellion at any cost? Posts: 206 | Registered: Tuesday, September 3 2002 07:00 |

Empire soldiers would mean no playable Nephilim or Slithzerikai for the first time since the first game in either of the Exile-based series, I'd guess. That's unusual, though not a bad thing in general. It also opens up some, hm, 'interesting' conversations between members of those races and your group. While Slithzerikai don't have that much experience with the Empire), they'll mostly know them from the stories of those banished to Exile/Avernum (And from the Empire War of course!), which is kind of like only ever having read the propaganda. Obviously the correct way to go about things is, upon finding out that the person you just rescued is a complete stranger, is to wait until the next lorry comes by and restore the balance. And of course wish the stranger luck in that this time he or she really is someone who someone else walking by knows. Posts: 206 | Registered: Tuesday, September 3 2002 07:00 |

In an attempt to get the topic back on the right tracks... I'd guess it'd take at most three months, though one month is more likely to happen. It, of course, all depends on the severity of the bugs found by the Beta Testers. Posts: 206 | Registered: Tuesday, September 3 2002 07:00 |

I was actually thinking of making use of the character storage locations for this matter, though I can't say whether you can store more then one character this way. [ Wednesday, August 27, 2003 02:07: Message edited by: Squeaker of Soles ] Posts: 206 | Registered: Tuesday, September 3 2002 07:00 |
