I'd guess it won't ne normally possible, but you could always force the player to leave behind three members of his party at the beginning of your scenario, and then not have any points where you can pick them up again later. (Well, except at the end of your scenario obviously) Posts: 206 | Registered: Tuesday, September 3 2002 07:00 |

Dual-Wielding was most likely taken out of the Avernum series since you can already do insane damage even with one weapon, it'd be far too over-powered if you could do such insane damage twice at the cost of a little defense. And then I'm not even mentioning haste yet. [ Sunday, November 17, 2002 10:56: Message edited by: Squeaker of Soles ] Posts: 206 | Registered: Tuesday, September 3 2002 07:00 |

Adding the corpses would also make the games harder to run for older computers, and the save files would grow in size if they should lie aruond for a while before disappearing. Though if you make the corpse graphics already included in the game for every bit of terrain, you've already got a humanoid corpse image, then you'd just have to script the tiles to change whenever a monster dies. It could be that thre option of the Vahnatai isn't unlocked unless you also have the evidence of the slime plague, so if you haven't, poke around a bit in the part where the Alien Slime was, it might help. Though I guess being able to speak to Erika also means you have that evidence, in which case I'm rather puzzled. quote:I actually think he's talking about having the automap in a loose window instead of it being part of the main window Avernum runs in. At least both the Exile series and Nethergate had that on Windows, I'm not really sure how it'd be on a mac. Posts: 206 | Registered: Tuesday, September 3 2002 07:00 |

Spell ideas, pick 2 to replace Simulacrum/Capture Soul. Feather Fall: Reduces damage taken from stepping off of cliffs. Level 1: The party takes 2/3 of the usual damage. Level 2: The party takes 1/3 of the usual damage. Level 3: The party takes no damage from falls. It might need to be balanced a bit though, some scenario designers might want to prevent players from being able to jump off all cliffs.Magic Shield: This spell makes a shield which protects against magic. At level 1 it'll simply give magic resistance, at level 2 it'd also convert a very minor part of the damage done to Spell Points, at level 3 it affects the whole party.Gate: This spell would summon up to three random monsters, and when I say random I do mean random, it could summon every single monster in the game, but it's unpredictable. Level of the spell is equal to amount of monsters summoned. [ Thursday, November 07, 2002 05:00: Message edited by: Squeaky ] Posts: 206 | Registered: Tuesday, September 3 2002 07:00 |

100 MHz computers are just too plain slow to run any of the Avernum games, Nethergate or Geneforge. This is quite simply due to the fact that these games use more different graphics at the same time then any of the Exile games ever do. Posts: 206 | Registered: Tuesday, September 3 2002 07:00 |

It's actually been proven that people can usually more coherently tell what the plot is in a movie without nudity then one with, in the latter case most people in fact were more likely to remember the nudity then the actual plot. I've actually had the a variation on the invisible enemies thing, only in my case it was more like duplicate enemies. In my case I'm talking about the Windows version, oh well I'll just E-Mail it to Jeff. Posts: 206 | Registered: Tuesday, September 3 2002 07:00 |

That's because he's actually just got a few tape players installed which play his voice when someone walks past. Yeah. Posts: 206 | Registered: Tuesday, September 3 2002 07:00 |

Try turning on some of the options under "For older machines" in the preferences. It should help reduce these problems. (Note that only Exile 3 has the "For older Machines" thing, but if you check the preferences in Exile 3 you should get a basic idea of what to turn off in Exile and Exile 2.) Another possibility is that the installation file got corrupted while you were downloading it, easiest way to solve that is simply downloading it again. Of course, if you've downloaded 5 times in a row and it still pops up the same error, the file probably isn't corrupted. You're pretty much only allowed to use normal letters at the beginning and the end of your user name. You could probably put the slash in the middle. Posts: 206 | Registered: Tuesday, September 3 2002 07:00 |
