I'm putting my bet on the gun. As I recall, Alorael has a Mac, and therefore the topic title is addressed to him as well as many others, and even if he doesn't have a Mac, chances are he'll see this before Saunders anyway, because he's Alorael and he has radar post-vision.

I've been told that I vaguely resemble the Avalokiteshvara...I suppose there's a certain resemblance, if you picture it with bushy red hair...

The entire point of the Avalokiteshvara being that it's hermaphroditic, I'm not sure whether the comment was complimentary or insulting.

EDIT: There are actually many Avalokiteshvara. Apparently, I resemble a certain one which I can't seem to find a picture of. There's a poster of it hanging in my history teacher's classroom...I'll keep looking, but as I don't know how to post an image anyway, I imagine you'll just have to stick with your mental images of me.

I don't think it's so much that the Bible has been proven to be myth as that it hasn't been proven to be anything. There's no proof that it's the Word of God--there isn't even any proof that there is a God. That's why I'm agnostic--I don't want to devote my life or my faith to someone or something that very well might not exist at all.

My agnosticism leans more towards Atheism, however. I guess I just figure that if God existed, he wouldn't let people screw the world up this badly in his name.

FEAR TEH SCYTHE. *cowers beneath Drakey's withering glare*

I love newbies. Especially ones with godawful grammar and spelling. I don't want to kill any of them. Really.

Seriously, people around here don't like it when others forget to capitalize, punctuate or otherwise make their posts intelligible.

Some basic rules:

1. "Their" is possessive, "they're" is a contraction for "they are." Do not confuse the two. The same goes for "your" and "you're."

2. Capitals are used at the beginning of a sentence, and for proper nouns. They should always be used such, but not for much else (all caps for emphasis = bad.)

3. If English is not your first language, that's fine. If it is, however, there's really not much excuse for having horrible grammar.

All grammatical rules aside, just have fun, and don't steal Alorael's sig or skribbane. And watch out for the Revere Brigade.

What I don't get is why people think that same-sex marriage is "anti-family," or will "break apart the traditional family structure." It's not like gay couples, if allowed to be married, are going to break into the homes of heterosexual familes and demand that they divorce or something. I honestly can't see how same-sex marriages could possibly hurt anyone. Why can't everyone just live and let live?

Technically, only in some states. Texas, namely. Sodomy is illegal there, even between two consenting adults--police will break into the home of a gay couple and arrest them. Texas sucks.

Pennsylvania is one of the few states that has added homosexuality-based hate crimes to our hate-crime protection bill. Apparently, equal rights for people of different races and religions are permissible, but if you're defending people who are attacked based on their sexual orientation, they're "special rights."

I know a lot of people who dismiss racism as a thing of the past. As much as there really needs to be more support and acceptance of GLBT people, people have to realize that there's still a lot of work to be done against racism as well. Statistics show that the majority of hate crimes are racially motivated, followed in reasonably close second by crimes committed against gay, lesbian and transgender people.

The problem is that racism is a really, really touchy subject, and that makes it difficult for people to talk about it--and it's only when people talk about it that any progress is made towards ending it. As with any discrimination, I think discussion and education are the keys to solving the problem. It may just be my Quaker philosophy speaking, but it seems to be working at my school.

You know what never fails to make me laugh? When people operate under the misconception that Atheist = Satanist. Atheism and Satanism are two entirely different faiths (yes, I do consider Atheism a faith, and therefore I capitalize it; let others do as they wish with it) with really no connection. Atheists believe that there is no God, and hence no Satan--no higher power, no lower power. That's how I've always operated. Even back in the day when I did believe in God, I never believed in hell or Satan, so I was never too worried. Satanists, on the other hand...I don't really know all that much about Satanism, but I doubt that there are really all that many Satanists who sacrifice goats and drink the blood of children and whatever else people think about them. But Atheists are not Satanists, for the simple reason that they don't believe in Satan.

And just for the record: Wicca and Satanism are decidedly not the same thing either. Don't even make me go there.

Just because Alec doesn't broadcast his faith with a neon sign doesn't mean he isn't Christian, Dave. He doesn't have to say he's Christian on a message board to be Christian. It really, really annoys me when Christians feel they have to shove their religion in everyone else's face to be considered faithful.

Personally, I'm not Christian, and therefore I can associate Easter with chocolate bunnies without guilt.

»What is your name?
I'm just the Grammar Wench. Most people address me as Anna, so I figure that must be my name, or something.

»What is your quest?
To eliminate bad punctuation and comma splices, and to teach everyone--EVERYONE--the difference between "your" and "you're."

»What is your favorite color/colour?
Black. And red.

»What is your job (If you are unemployed, what prevents you from having more free time)?
I watch kids. They're annoying. But they seem to like me, and I get paid. It's easier during the year, when I just have to watch them in a nice clean house for a few hours, than in the summer, when I have to chase them around a soccer field in the blazing hot sun for 6 hours a day, 5 days a week. Damn kindergarteners.

»What are some books you like?
Les Miserables, the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and Wuthering Heights.

»What are some movies/TV shows you like?
Don't watch much TV, but I do take the time to watch Law and Order: SVU. And I love the Breakfast Club.

»What are some computer/console games you like?
Just Exile, Avernum and Geneforge.

»What are some bands you like?
The Goo Goo Dolls. Johnny Rzeznik is immortal.

»What are some musical pieces you like?
Hmm. Most anything by Aaron Copland, and Russian Easter Overture by Rimsky-Korsakov. And Mozart's 40th.

»Who are some of your favorite members on these boards?
Alorael, Saunders, Rosycat and Princess Ruthie.

»What do you think various members look like?
Alorael has a long black ponytail. He just does. The Revere Brigade are a bunch of screeching monkeys with keyboards, and Rosycat is...well, a pink Nephil. Saunders looks like my English teacher, that is to say, a tiny little sparrow in funky shoes. Drakey is a Vahnatai in a business suit.

»What do you look like?
Red hair, blue eyes. No eyeliner, actually, but lots of black. The makeup I wear is limited to black lipstick, and occasionally funkily-colored nail polish. I'm actually on the shorter side of average, which annoys me. Maybe I'll grow.

»What did you have for lunch last Tuesday?
A ham sandwich, some leftover Easter candy and a muffin. It's probably pathetic that I can actually remember.

»What is your age?
Fifteen, hanging desperately on the edge of sixteen and waiting...waiting...

»What is your species?
Some kind of bizarre human/tiger moth hybrid.

»What sort of computer do you use?
I do most of my pathetic living on an ancient Apple up in my room, but for the Internet I use a PC.

»What plane are you from?
My own twisted little plane of punk existence.

»Are you male, female, or "other."
I am woman, hear me roar. Raaaah.

»How many holes do you prefer in the ceiling?
I like rain. My entire ceiling could be one big hole, for all I care.

»When did you last brush your teeth?
This morning.

»Do you feed lemons to your pet alligator?
Sure, if you want me to.

»To whom are all your base belong?
MY BASE BELONG TO NONE BODY

»What region of the universe are you posting from?
My basement.

»What does (§³·ß)Ð/µª=ƒ mean?
*hides in a corner and whimpers*

»What is the appropriate usage of the word "EVOL"?
Alec defines EVOL.

»Did I forget anything?
You forgot to DIE.

Hmm. Are you sure it's not just the 3D effect playing tricks? If one of your characters has stepped through a secret door, it can make it look like they're still on the outside, but you can see the container you need to search. It's not a problem in Exile, but with Avernum it can be tricky.

Ugh...marshmallow...

Though peeps do seem to consist of more granular sugar than marshmallow, making it possible for me to gag them down (provided I don't eat more than a few.) I hate marshmallows...especially Hershey marshmallow eggs, which make me vomit. And I always seem to get at least three of them every Easter. I try to trade them to my sister for peanut butter cups, but she won't take them even for free, and so I usually end up leaving them in my room until the 4th of July, at which point they're old and stale and I can throw them away without guilt.

I've never had a hot cross bun, but apparently it's some sort of pastry with a cross on it made out of sugar or icing or some such tasty sweet gunk. Yum.

However, as I don't have any Jesus buns to munch upon, I'll content myself with chocolate bunnies.
