Welcome back, Motrax, you spamming murkin.

Eh, just because I haven't forgiven you doesn't mean I can't be reasonably cordial now that I've insulted you. Welcome back.

Well, if TM can jump right back into the fray of things after being banned, then so can I. I'll be the wallflower in dark clothing.

After a week in exile, I return to the boards, wondering if I was the only one banned in the whole 4th of July debacle (SMoE excluded, we all know he was banned.)

Nah, just kidding. Good grammar is all I ask, and you don't seem to have any problems there.

Oh dear. Ignore the rampant flaming going on right now; we're in the middle of a bit of a nasty conflict. It'll be over soon.

I'm Mangophobia, but most people around here call me RoR, or the Grammar Wench. Watch your grammar, so I don't have to decapitate you with my Glistening Scythe of Correct Grammarness. Just remember--"your" is possessive, "you're" is a contraction for "you are," same goes for "their" and "they're," and "its" and "it's," and you should be fine.

EDIT: Always nice to see another female member, too. We wenches are few and far between on these boards.

I've been so inflammatory lately that I've actually begun to regret insulting whomever comes within ten feet of me (though that person is usually Dave.) With all the crap that's going on with the 4th of July topics, we're all at each others' throats even more than usual, which is saying something. What this board needs right now is a topic where everyone is courteous and kind to each other, and the whole thing brought to mind...oh God I can't believe I'm actually saying this...if anyone besides myself was dragged against their will to see the second Legally Blonde movie, they might remember the whole "snap cup" thing, where everyone had to say one nice thing about someone else. Ultimately, that turned into a flamefest, and the movie made me want to rip my own eyes out and feed them to a swarm of rabid chipmunks, but I figured it couldn't hurt.

So, everyone who posts in this topic must find one nice thing to say about another member. Dear God, am I actually doing this?

I'll take an easy one to start with. Ef (I know it's not usually capitalized, but I can't start a sentence with a lowercase letter, it'll throw my karma off-balance) is generally wise and levelheaded and doesn't join in the flamewars, but instead acts as peacekeeper and helps to rationalize things.

Dave, every word you speak lowers our opinion of you, and most of us honestly didn't think it could get much lower either. Shut up. We all have just as much festering contempt for you as you obviously do for us, and there are more of us than there are of you.

TM, thank you for continuing the topic despite Motrax's rampant idiocy.

Sir Motrax, you really are a true patriot. America should be proud of you. Playing the vigilante and idiotically censoring free speech that doesn't conform to your own views--what could be more American than that?

You sicken me, SMoE. But I'm not going to let you win, either. I'm staying here, and spreading my anti-American views in any way I damn well please. GO JAM A RED-HOT POKER IN YOUR EYE SIR

Hmm. My half-birthday was about a week ago, which means five months and three weeks until my parents force me to get my permit so that they never have to drive me anywhere ever again.

I'd be all too happy to learn to drive, if I got to drive a moped. Mopeds are awesome. In Italy, almost nobody drives an actual car--everyone drives a moped. I should live in Italy.

Bah. I can think of little more capitalist than charging people to see fireworks. I despise the 4th of July. I ignored the blatant WOO-HOO AMERICA ROCKS FREEDOM LIBERTY JUSTICE YAY4BUSH YAY4WAR RED WHITE AND BLUE STARS AND STRIPES PATRIOTISM yada yada yada and went to see "28 Days Later," which was a horrible, horrible movie and should be shot and killed, but it was British. I'm the type of person who goes to see foreign movies on the 4th of July wearing all black and laughing at people wearing red, white and blue, or anything with a flag on it. It was fun.

Edit: And Alorael--YOU COMMIE BASTARD! This is AMERICA! We don't care 'bout no stinkin' wildlife! What are ya, a liberal pansy? In America, we roast them little squirrels and bunnies on a good ol' American barbecue with some A-1 steak sauce and swallow 'em whole! YEEHA!

*cough* Excuse me.

Well, I'm definitely left, and definitely too ****ing miserly to register BoE, which leads to me not being very hyped about BoA, but I do have a weak spot for Geneforge, even though I'm too miserly (read: completely broke; I don't get allowance and there are no kids in my neighborhood to babysit) to register that either.

A black-clad figure approached, carrying a scythe and wearing a cloak of what looked like bat wings studded with iron spikes. "I'm channeling the spirit of John Steinbeck," she said. "He wants you to give credit for using his dialogue."

Oh, it wasn't so much the grammar I was complaining about as it was the RP itself. You're fine, Omlette. Thank you, Flavius.

EDIT: Nazgul, if English isn't your first language, you're exempt from my grammar rants. Just remember--"your" is possessive, "you're" = "you are."

The Grammar Wench seizes her Scythe and hacks Dolney messily into a number of small pieces, kills everyone else in the room and then turns the Scythe on herself, screaming in agony, "No! NOT ANOTHER MINDLESS INN RP! WILL THE TORMENT NEVER CEASE?"

Hmm. At my school, pretty much anything below a C minus is kind of considered failing...they won't make you repeat the subject for a C minus, but if you're in an honors course they'll demote you to a regular course. If you're in middle school and in a regular course and you get a D minus, they'll put you on probation. I'm not sure what happens in high school.

Honors courses are graded on a five-point scale rather than a four-point scale, and so you'd think a B would count as a 4.0, right? No, of course not. It's only a 3.75. The GPA demons are conspiring against me.

Just a bit of wench-ranting about the American grading system.
