If you want a single piece of advice to make your plot more interesting, it'd be to make the Aranea sympathetic characters. After all, if they're intelligent, they have motives for their actions. The fact that humans have colonised their lands and many of them probably try to kill giant spiders on sight is a good start. Well, they're "hiding" messages in the posts through the use of bold letters. I agree that it's getting a little annoying at this point, having turned into more of a posting game than honest speculation. Guys, if you have something to say, say what you mean -- the bold-letter thing got old a couple of pages ago. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Roots Hunted! .de is German, actually. As in "Deutsch". And "muschi" means the same things in German as the English link does in English. Actually, it's an endash. For me it's clearly different in length from both an emdash (which is what it should have been) and a hyphen. Possibly you're using a weird font that doesn't properly distinguish between them. Emdash, endash and hyphen respectively arranged below, for your edification. — – - If they all look the same to you, it's your browser's fault, not mine. There are a couple of reasons why something like that could happen. None of them are good. If virus and spyware detection programs don't turn anything up, all I can suggest is doing a clean reinstall of your operating system. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Actually, iGod explains the Turing test in exactly the way Turing did in the first place. It's just that Eagle misinterpreted the explanation. :P -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Roots Hunted! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

Okay, this topic has turned bad. I'm not going to lock it, on the off chance that either Jake returns or someone else decides to bring it back on track, but I'd appreciate it if everyone would stop filling it with spam and bickering. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Please don't judge TM purely by his behaviour on these forums. He can be abrasive, but I would say without hesitation that he's also one of the most helpful and generous people I know. He's put countless hours of work into this community in the form of scenario design and other contributions, and he's been a tireless source of advice, support and assistance for many members of the community. I know that you probably don't see all of this, but frankly, you haven't known him for very long. TM may not be a nice person, but he is a good person. It's not actually infinite. If you wait long enough, eventually the spiders will bite you to death. :P But yeah, this is one of the major perils of playing with a one-PC party. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! The trouble isn't in the fixing; it's in the updating. Jeff's main excuse for not updating is that he doesn't want to make people download updates. (Yes, I'm sure you can think of several ways in which this doesn't make sense, both in general and for this particular example. Try telling that to Jeff.) -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

The most sensible place to put that call, by the way, is in the INIT_STATE of the creature script. Then, you can use my_number() for the which_char argument. Also, since spells default to level 2 for monsters, you want to change every spell except Fireblast by -2. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! You realise that there's a walkthrough in the scenario folder, going by the name of HINTS.txt?
