quote:Or, in some cases, no city lengths of wilderness. I wasn't really that attached to the outdoors screen. I realled liked the seamlessness in Avernum 4. The only problem was that since the world had been designed with the outdoors system in mind, some cities were too close together for the seamless world to work. That shouldn't be a problem if most of Avernum 5 takes place in new caves. -------------------- You lose. Posts: 2156 | Registered: Thursday, August 24 2006 07:00 |

I suggest playing through from the begining for maximum enjoyment and understanding of the story. Kelandon is also correct, though, if you play backwards, the game will probably become more annoying as you go because you will be moving backwards in technology or whatever as well. Technology is probably the wrong word but you get the idea. -------------------- You lose. Posts: 2156 | Registered: Thursday, August 24 2006 07:00 |

The Turabi Gate quest, in which you need to scout the defenses of the gate, can be completed as follows: one way is to just rush up to it, and eventually a message will appear that says you see the defenses and can report back now; while the other way (which is not my style, and thus I've never done it) is probably to sneak up without alerting the patrols, getting just close enough to see the message. Not sure what the 'spy points' you're refering to are. You can get caught and still complete the quest, but someone who's more inclined to that style should give you more info on that. -------------------- You lose. There was never any doubt in my mind as to Nikki's gender. Everything about him screams confused male, which I find very easy to distinguish from actual female. -------------------- You lose. Posts: 2156 | Registered: Thursday, August 24 2006 07:00 |

Tullegolar is a name passed down to me from my father, who got it from his father. In our ancient tongue, it means, 'star hammer.' My grandfather chose the name to replace his slave name after forging his kingdom through battle. In those days he used a mighty hammer, which he claimed harnessed the magic of the stars, hence the name. Since then, the hammer itself was melted down to make my steel crown when I decided to upgrade myself from king to emperor. The origin of the name was almost forgotten, remembered only by myself and my close inner council of eunuchs, whom call upon the spirits of my ancestors from time to time. -------------------- You lose. quote:I actually liked that there were almost no repawnable monsters. I made me feel like I could, you know, complete the game... completely. In one game where I successfully picked up every item in the entire world, the only flaw in my plan was those respawning slimes that sometimes dropped bones or trash. This is probably just the OCD part of me talking. -------------------- You lose. Posts: 2156 | Registered: Thursday, August 24 2006 07:00 |

I like being able to click where I want to go. It allowed me to travel across the map at record speeds, since it navigates you aroung obstacles automatically. I love that. I can't imagine traversing a forest or swamp without that ability, even though I did it all the time in the older Avernums. I would really miss it if it were gone now. -------------------- You lose. quote:Agreed. Since I played Realmz before Exile, I almost didn't play Exile because I thought is was by the same people. Thank extreme boredom I ended up playing it anyway. I think Exile is better simply because of the whole engine and whatnot, which is much credit to Jeff. The only things that Realmz does better are that is does indeed have more races and classes, as well as more items. Lots of items is something I look for in a good RPG. That's probably why Fallout is the best for me. "This is a Mr. Nixon doll. You don't trust it." You can not deny that I know the way to Alorael's heart. Last time I was looking down the barrel of a fully loaded ban, I was saved by posting something having to do with Monty Python. Alorael has some good taste, it's all too easy, really. [ Saturday, February 03, 2007 12:06: Message edited by: Emperor Tullegolar ] -------------------- You lose.
