It's been so long...an inn seems to come to mind. Having the place ruined does not seem good I must say. Would not be surprised if it is impossible to find the artifact after some time passes.

Krizsan: I believe he is in a room with a secret passage in the west part of town. Delan: check the inn. He is at one every third day I believe.

Yes, I do have something intelligent to say: As a board admin, I request that you follow the rules of these forums. My trouble is that I am tasked with reminding people of and enforcing the rules of the board. I apologize I do not know the answer to your question, but I still have to post remind you of forum rules when violated.

You cannot get into the Spire Fort until you get the mission to go there from The Castle. You should go there and do Houghton's missions until you get told to go there.

To buy or wait that is the question in Avernum 4

Well, the games will not be changing significantly, so it really does not matter. I mean, if you want the "best" strategy, put the money now in a low-risk for a long time and watch it grow; however, that is hardly a good option. :P

Avernum:4 vs Blades Of Avernum which is the best? in Avernum 4
The Establishment

So far at least. I would not be surprised if someday we have something epics like the Adventurer's Club series which definitely has length.

Anyway, to discuss this further:

A4: If you want to continue to Avernum plot and you don't mind it being very predictable, this would be a good choice. The combat mechanics are by far the best in any Spiderweb game and it is a good distraction. It does, however, have little reply value after a couple times.

BoA: Right now there are not a large number of scenarios to play. Indeed this is disappointing, but there are discussions going on to help combat this. However, with BoA you get potentially an endless variety of adventures to play. Blades of Exile has hundreds of them for better or worse. Hopefully BoA will get this many scenarios eventually, and if it is anything like BoE, in many ways they will exceed all the works of Jeff Vogel in my opinion.

If you don't mind going back on the graphics, Blades of Exile is probably the best investment in terms of the amount of playtime versus money spent.

It is many decades after A3. There are some on the surface, some stayed. The manual/instructions has the entire story. I would suggest reading it.

Geneforge 3 Review in Geneforge Series

I would suggest that your next game take place in an entirely new world, with - most importantly - new graphic icons, even public domain ones. I am sure your fans would buy it and word of the forums is that your loyalists are reaching the end of the ropes with more of the same. Don't be a mini-EA. Find that thing that inspired you to take the choices for the game you would like to play, rather than the game you think will sell. Trust yourself and the sales will follow.
Jeff has been pretty clear he intends to bleed the Avernum/Geneforge series dry. I do not forsee something new for a long time. GF4 will be the next game according to Jeff and after that likely A5.

Oh welcome, just FYI, Jeff rarely checks the message boards, especially forums for old games like GF3. :(

Error Check REquest in Nethergate

I would take issue with the highly non-linear statement; it is also spelled wrong. Non-linear implies you get to pick a side, and you have side quests to do when you want, but the main storyline has a set order that cannot be done any other way.

In E3/A3 it was theoretically possible to skip some of the monster plagues altogether. That is what I call non-linear. Nethergate has you do the same five/six chapters in order.

Several endings is iffy also. I believe you really get three (Romans win, Romans where Celts still get wands and beat Romans in end, and Celts win but are forced to migrate). I would call this, 'a few' not 'several'.

Otherwise, all right. A little uneven in the amount of detail, but okay.

You're worrying too much. :) The best way to test whether you will break things is to simply try them. The string buffer is a pretty versatile thing as far as I have experienced.

—Alorael, who will take advantage of having the man himself checking in while he can. It's very nice!

From looking at the manual, it the formula is the damage times all of the block percentages. So if you would normally take 100 damage with no armor and have three pieces of armor for 30%, 10%, and 5% you get:

100*(1-0.3)*(1-0.1)*(1-0.95) = 60 damage approximately

Multiplication, last I checked, was commutative so it should not depend on any order.

Do you have lots of room to place the party. Try making the point of entry larger, if that is narrow or otherwise small. Otherwise, experiment with different coordinates a bit.

If you really hate visuals and trifling with all that combat stuff, you can just read what happens in the scripts and consider having played it.

Possibly, never had him killed and it seems to work fine so it could be. Why not fire an e-mail off to Jeff with a detailed description of your problem?
