I repeat my proposal that Alorael be given a custom title consisting of the empty string. To me this seems the only solution. -------------------- We're not doing cool. We're doing pretty. Posts: 3335 | Registered: Thursday, September 4 2003 07:00 |

No -- other titles of non-deleted members (specifically, TGM) contain specially-formatted characters that don't carry over correctly either. It's because everything within CODE tags is interpreted literally instead of being converted to what it represents. quote:They were correct, until the board got to it. They don't like html tags, I guess. Also, account #21 is still deleted. It was not when I originally started the database (possibly the only one that was deleted since then and is still gone). Because only existing profiles are updated, this row is now effectively sitting as a ghost in cyberspace. I decided against deleting it and instead marked it as it is now. -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. Check the list again... saunders is on there twice. The newer account (5563 on the list) is the one that moderates General. On topic about publicly displayed names ,how can a name be reserved for a certain member? 'Recently' preobably means 'since UBB was founded'. If someone tried to change their name to one of Alo's old monikers (just as an example), they would probably be rejected. -------------------- I'll put a Spring in your step. Posts: 2396 | Registered: Saturday, January 29 2005 08:00 |

Not true. People have actually swapped publicly displayed names with each other before, so it is possible for different people to use the same name. On the other hand, sometimes people who have changed their names have never been allowed to change back to their old name. Conclusion: UBB is messed up. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

That´s many people do never change their names! :D -------------------- You know, why the Sliths are green - because of their scales. quote:I've been Arancaytar for an uncountable number of times since I've started changing. Perhaps there is a different cause (someone in the meantime taking a login name like this), or perhaps it only works if the original displayed name is the same as the login name (mine is). Or perhaps UBB does this randomly, as it does with every other bug. -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. If ubb decides to delete accounts how can we ever hit 7000 members? *jedi gesture* My signature was always accurate. I did not attribute SupaNik's quote to Ben. Rosycat left Spiderweb; she last posted over a year ago. She sometimes posts at Polaris, but that was four months ago too. -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast.
