Avernum or Nethergate? in General | |

Nethergate is a smaller world than any of the other games. The difference is that you can play different sides with different abilities (Romans are better fighter and Celts are better spellcasters). There are plenty of ways to replay the game. You should play both sides since then you can see the whole story. Avernum 5 is much better than the earlier games especially compared to Avernum 4 because the game engine and mechanics have improved. Avernum 2 is still considered to have the best plot of the series. Battle disciplines in A5 make running a fighter finally interesting. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Halfast stood in shock as Ahonar reveal his true self. Then self preservation took over. Time around him slowed as he hasted himself and fled out of the temple. The skyship would serve as a safe place to wait and see who emerged victorious. The barriers placed in the corridors slowed him down as he fled. However rock could be weaked with acid and blasted away by lightning to create an opening. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

There is an implication that Ahonar made a mistake in destroying the Glass Onion. Instead of destroying the Creator's powers, they seem to be released. I haven't posted since I was busy and only got back as Ahonar revealed himself. I'm not powerful enough to face a god. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Actually to save time, most bots are just blocked so they can't post, but you don't see the effect in their profiles. Considering the number that swarm in every week getting rid of most of them without upsetting the UBB is the best for now. There have been requests for the more interesting member numbers getting recycled. A bit soiled, but usable. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Only mods are allowed to link to them and only in the privacy of the Moderator Board to draw attention to them for the admins. They get around to doing bulk deletions. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

ET - I was going to be with your group until you had that line about the red shirt and I figure that was the next casualty as in Star Trek. The bodies keep piling up around you or at least their ashes. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Halfast wasn't sure that it was safe not to be in Vlad's group. At least going with him would insure that he could always stay behind him, that being the safest spot. Being in another group he ran the risk of meeting up with Vlad and getting attacked by accident. The Archmage Rahona group was probably the next safest. Anyone that could kill a city of Anam ought to be able to protect him from Vlad's stupidity. Halfast would just have to stay near him and watch for approaching disaster. This was not how he wanted to spend his remaining years. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Diplomatic endings are in two types. Sending back home with the Vahnatai is the usual one. Or you can send her to plague the Empire. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

With enough mechanics (I think 10 will do) and poking around the locked doors, you can find the clawbug canister. There are reasons not to destroy towns when you first visit them. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

I'd probably have picked some more albums, but most of the songs I heard individually and not as part of an album. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Less than an hour to go when some idiot will set off illegal fireworks. Hopefully he'll get burned for his efforts so it'll be a great start for the New Year. Evolution in Action. Keep idiots from reproducing. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

It's a little experience and money, but it doesn't affect the game. Eventually you can use it up and get no more fights. The basilisk is fun. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Yeah that village you wiped out gives you directions to Kharto. Couldn't locate the flag that you need to set with the character editor. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

I picked up Greenfang after completing the Shaila quest so that's how I know I couldn't keep him after the Cairns Gate zone. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Start in the southeast corner of the Tower of Magi in the corridor running along the east edge and try walking through walls on the corridor's west side. When you find the hidden library you should find X muttering to himself. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Another for the list: Commercial free television Still it doesn't happen that often when the board acts up with massive 500 errors. More large topics will have to be locked for the good of the boards Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

I know I tried to keep Greenfang and failed. It's scripted that the artilla either goes with Shaila if you have it when you meet her or stays in the Forsaken Lands looking for her. I know someone else said they kept it, but no one posts how. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

It's east of the river and south of Golddale and the nephil community. What's with giant types worshipping a talking skull? You have it in Nethergate also, Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Iffy was right that demon muffins aren't totally evil. One ate him. Loved the line from Dintiradan about was the Lurker faster than him. Best way to escape monsters. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Nah, GF4 is easy if you sneak around and kill his friends first. GF1 is the worst with spawners that can't be shut off and nasty monsters that keep you in fight mode the whole time. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Sales tax isn't usually added although it should be if you live in Washington state. Follow the purchase form regarding taxes. Email Jeff regarding combining discounts. Buying the first 3 Geneforge games together is cheaper, but I haven't kept up with the discounts when you add in Geneforge 4. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |
