It'll come in useful if Slarty ever finishes Eschalon, Avernum 5, etc. and gets back to the Deathmatches. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

First Halfast is extremely drunk so going up against a god is possible in that state. Since this is Rune and not Avernum, a reasonable variation of the minor summoning spell is for Nethergate warriors as a nod to Tyranicus. In AD&D 1st edition (Greyhawk World) you have the Bigby's hand summoning spells starting in the mid level range so using *i's old signature quote, I went with an appropriate summoning spell to distract Ahonar. Consider this going out in a blaze of drunken glory. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Halfast saw Ahonar lying in the entrance of the pyramid. "Take away my powers by destroying the Vale, will you. I'll show you what I think of that." Halfast hasted himself and began to summon an army. Nake blue painted men appeared around him wielding spears and as they charged at Ahonar they screamed, "Nethergate." Hasting them as they approached his foe, Halfast drank an invulnerability elixir. "Now to really make an impression," Halfast said as he cast *i's stomping boot spell and a giant boot appeared over Ahonar. The boot began to stomp on the god's face. Halfast took advantage of the time until they reached the next stop. He got drunk. Not that swill that Vlad had been drinked, but the good stuff the Anama had in their leader's cabins. There were advantages to being first to the spoils. Now they had landed and he was out. As Halfast stumbled off the skyship he saw the pyramid dominating the landscape. The place where the dagger lay to kill a god. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Probably should have posted that I was getting drunk in the skyship. I was waiting for the party to get to the pyramid. I know a skyship got to the general area. Most of the action seemed to be with Dazzle and company and I was definitely not in that group. Iffy's priests seemed to have gotten It with them. The job dispatcher doesn't occur until A3 and gets replaced by a job board in A4 and A5 with fixed number of jobs. I think there are fewer inventory slots in the earlier games and until A4 you can exceed the maximum encumberance. Remember to close doors behind you since it's possible in A2 to have someone accidently die that gave you a quest. Some of the spells act differently in each game. Also playing in order makes you appreciate how the game engine improves until you hit A4 and the Geneforge influence. Luckily A5 restores most of the glory of the first 3 games. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Welcome to Spiderware Software, please leave your sanity at the door. Canister limit increases as you progress in Geneforge 4. Near the start of the game 5 is a good limit, but near the last parts it rises to about 12 before canister madness forces you to attack those stupid things that question your superior abilities. In original Nethergate it's 4 in beast or craft circle from the Hagfen quest scroll. Nethergate: Resurrection has 3 in beast or craft circle from Hagfen quest. Also the games switch on which side can do the Horned Skull quest for Hagfen. There is a beast circle braclet in Nethergate: Resurrection in the Circle Warren for +3 beast circle. Killing Raven gives an All Circle scroll with +3 in the circles you can train in, but marks you as a murderer for entering the Faerie Bazaar and Hollow Hills. Jeff does post occasionally in non-game topics. Usually it's to lock them because they violate CoC or he doen't want that topic on his boards (Evolution vs. Intelligent Design over on GF4). Topics get locked because a mod decides they have reached an end. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

I think original Nethergate allows for the recovery of javelins that miss hitting their target. Switch to sling as soon as possible and then you won't waste money buying javelins. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

There are periods where posting declines. The end of summer is a good example where 100 posts a month is high for a person. Since Avernum 5 came out there was an increase for the first 2 months with game interest, but lately there is little being posted anywhere. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |
