Bush is right that the Iraq War isn't Vietnam, it's worse. There we could abandon the people that depended upon us and pull out without noticeable damage to the US. Now we have created a new terrorist breeding ground filled with those that came from Afghanistan as well as those that hate us for the Iraq occupation. Bush is a coward for not facing the difficult war in Afghanistan to completely stamp out terrorism there and rebuild the country. The government barely controls the area outside the capital and the terrorists can freely enter the country to drag out the war. All these years since 9/11 and we don't really have enough to show for it that's positive. All that hasn't happened is a significant terrorist incident in the US since they can do more damage outside the US with little interference. You won't need a torch to see at night since you'll have a nice unhealthy glow. Basically the reactions to people you talk to will change as you use more canisters. Rebels will support you, but Shaper loyalists will become less friendly to you. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Yeah, but I want one that isn't a coward. Come on, fleeing to Iraq in the middle of the night in secrecy to avoid Thanksgiving dinner with your parents. We know George W. gets his nastiness from his mother. Poor Laura was trapped there with her. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Thanks Excalibur for noticing, but I'll wait to the 8000 range for a milestone. It's funny to think that the canister addicted Emperor T is grounded in reality. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Alo is rumored to be a Korean businessman and there are a few members from Far East Asia so it isn't a stretch for Korean as a language. After that recent topic in Finnish it's clear that some members speak Finnish that aren't Finns. After all Bush was elected when the only job he was ever successful at was building a public baseball stadium. His personality was a loser and a bully that got by on connections to bail him out of messes. Anyone that looked at his job as Texas governor saw the train wreck he led us into as president. Demographics - An interesting shift in the last week as the age has shifted lower so more members are below 21 as the single largest block of 10 year age groups ahead of the 20 somethings. Also there are now more students than regular job members. I think this trend will continue with more new members joining the census. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

The lava in the southeast part of the Vale has a gate control to the west in the southwest part of the lava room. The area to the east is reached by the portal near the entrance and you have to cross the lava to exit the area (hovering spell helps). Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

You get a few minor items for killing him and the Celts have a reason to do it whereas the Romans don't care. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

It's okay to open his door if you've gone the northern route. It's only when you go the other route and face his apprentices that he kills himself. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

The shade won't die until after you've made it into the Great Cavern and talked to people in the Castle. Then you'll get quests that will take you past Fort Remote and to the solution so you can kill the shade. It has ridiculous high health and regenerates. There are also ways to get help in fighting it. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

At one place near the north edge of the dungeon there is the hint that the walls are damaged. Use move mountains or shatter spell to find an alternate route that will let you get to Sixus before he kills himself. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Make a section near the end like the Howling Depths of Avernum 5. You are forced to push on to the end with no place to rest and no retreat from the limitless spawning minions behind you. This becomes a true test of endurance and planning as you have to figure out how to marshal your resources for the many fights all the time knowing that the worst is still yet ahead. Jeff does allow copying for the same user to different computers. Especially since it helps him know how well the games work on more configuarations. After all he isn't the Evil Empire that got a royalty even when their operating system wasn't installed on a computer. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Starting bumping into walls to find the hidden rooms with wheels to open the gates. The portal leads to a spellbook. I don;t know if you have to finish the area and kill Sammael to get it. There is a second portal inside center of the Vale that is not useable. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

The Test of Strength has secret rooms with supplies. Both tests have a portal that allows only one character to enter the testing area. There should be no other obstacles other than those of the test blocking the way. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

I can't believe you people are paying money to see something that you get for free on TV. Homer Simpson was right and I had to hear him while I'm watching the DVD, Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Oh these days you can just Photoshop their appearance. As long as you avoid live concerts you can get away with anything. Live events have the risk of them finding out that you lipsynch. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

It's been a while, but I think it's firewalk over the lava and there should be a secret passage through the north area. You need to go north to finish the game. This is also a good time to sell off what you don't need and stock up for the final fights. After this point there isn't any real need to go back. I think the amulet of return (special item) still works or the spell. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

TM is permabanned. He used to be allowed to appear briefly for scenario contest postings, but now he just channels his views through unbanned members. They probably have to sanitize even those. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |
