I got to watch a sliver before totality. Then it got lost in the clouds ahead of a thunderstorm (southern edge of Dikiyoba's one). Eclipses are supposed to portend great events like the Red Sox victory in the World Series. :) I mean you can always find something to relate to one.

It's actually a fairly likely chance to hit because the satellite orbit is well known and measured for much longer than the typical missile target.

Jeff shoots for the day after Thanksgiving Day for release. He wants to get your money before you spend it on something else for the holidays.

Avernum 5 for Mac was released before then. It's too early to even tell more accurately since Jeff hasn't written enough to start beta testing.

GF1 has the factory where you find that serviles and ornks can be made from essence vats and are bred for reproduction. Either method will produce them. Most creations are self reproducing. I think rotgroths are the exception for breeding.

ADoS -

It doesn't look like a virus, because usually I'm not on the net except for posting. I'm on dial up so I will notice extra delays from uploading and most were sent while I'm offline. I asked Yahoo and it's a common problem where the spammer uses fake names forged onto a real email address.

Changed my password and checked the sent folder to see that it isn't coming directly from my email address as the first things.

I missed my chance to get the sender IP info to compare with mine. It's probably some poor guy's computer that doesn't even know it's sending.

Jeran - It's nice to know you'll get to play and keep you away from here.

ET actually had some good advice if you want to go back to the forum, but I'll add get a new free email account to use and it might help to use another computer to start so the admins won't link you to your old account.

My rant was last month some spammer used by email address for the sender of his Viagra and fake watch spam. After over 2 weeks of deleting mailer demon messages saying they couldn't deliver "my spam", I was on auto delete mode if I didn't like the message subject. The last spam that I deleted before looking at the sender was sent using my email address. At least it's over although I wonder how many places now won't take my email address.

Not without triggering autokill nodes and other strange things.

5. here is a secret area in the dragons lair that peircing sight reveals but i can't get into
There is a place for Reptakos' quest to the Celts to retrieve an item if you have the goblin with you. There is a second area that only opens with the goblin's help as a back entrance to the treasure area.

6. how do you get back into galag nar?
Only one trip once you finish the quest there so make sure you move all the loot outside the gate or secret door before doing the quest.[/QUOTE]

also does any one know how to free the wolf in the crone caverns?
There are 2 wolves, one attacks you and the other requires the key in the north part of the level. You have to walk on only one type of tiles to avoid losing the key and going to the basilisk area.

I had a classmate that was science consultant for Star Trek: The Next Generation who was probably happy until Enterprise got cancelled. At least he wasn't the idiot that allowed some of the junk they used at the beginning to get through to final script. Clean the ship of baryons, now really there goes almost all of it.

Edit - Now you guys know what you can do with a physics degree.

We have troops, but they aren't in a state of preparedness for another war being tired and lacking most equipment. At least we have the nuclear option to bomb those anti-Bush strongholds in the US.

They re-elect Bush after the first 4 years. There are no limits to stupidity. I think if Bush hadn't lost the Congress he might have tried to get the constitutional amendment for term limits removed. There still isn't anything against him declaring martial law except the soldiers hate him too for Iraq.

I always liked how Republican businessmen wanted to eliminate the Commerce Department as a waste. Then Clinton appointed Ron Brown to head it and he started getting foreign countries to buy American products that couldn't get get sold under Reagan/Bush. Pretty soon they still hate Commerece, but corporations were fighting to go with Brown overseas because it meant business for them. Then they got Bush and exports dropped.

Bush appoints people that are wrong for their jobs. Rice at State studied how to deal with the Russians and isn't even doing a good job their. Penny pusher Rumsfeld at Defence couldn't send enough troops to Iraq to guard the WMD (nuclear materials) that we did know about. Brown at FEMA, well lets just say Hurricane Katrina.

Why don't you go play Avernum 5 since it's out for Windows?

Everyone dies.
Now I have to wait for Episode 5 to find out what happens. Will I stop being my own nightlight? Will Aran be replaced by his bots? What will Aloreal do without his creator?

Unless Osama bin Ladin dies before Bush leaves office, he'll be remember as the Republican Jimmy Carter. He failed in his objective to avenge 9/11 no matter how many other terrorists are killed because the snake's head is still there regenerating the rest. After all Carter is still blamed for the Iranian hostage mess.

The problem with the Patriot Act isn't that we don't have any checks on eavesdropping and other surveillence, its that the info can be used for arrests without ever having the people go to trial. You can lock them up till death without ever proving that they were guilty. If you are really careful, you can't even tell if they were arrested because the info is secret.

On the Patriot Act, parts are probably unconstitutional so it makes the whole in need of revision.

The picture of George W. Bush when he heard about the first plane crashing into the World Trade Center summed it up, deer in the headlights without any clue on what to do. Bush screwed up from the start and has never looked back. Loyalty over competence is the key to his adminsitration so he rewards failure as long as the people are loyal and punishes dissent even when they are right.

Iraq is a distaster that won't end without changing policy to make the country fight terrorists and stop relying on the US to fix everything for them. Without pushing to fix Bush's mistakes in policy to get back on track in fighting terrorism at the source we are doomed to a hundred year war.

People think he had FEMA failed to aid New Orleans because they were black when the truth was it was because they were Democrats. Florida (his brother as governor), Alabama (former Repubilcan chairman as governor), and Texas (homestate and Republican governor) all got immediate help, but Democrat Louisianna was left to die.

Even if you think that 9/11 and its aftermath couldn't be helped, Bush hasn't done much for natural disasters likes hurricanes, repairing the nation's infrastructure (bridges and roads), secured our borders, or otherwise make us safer. These aren't things that rely on outthinking an enemy, but just problems that cost money.

Well, yes, an ethical system in which you can always justify your actions is awfully convenient, but as a society we'd surely rather have an ethical system in which some actions aren't justifiable.
As Homer Simpson stated, the Patriot Act trampled on the Constitution. So we are in a system where actions that have be considered as immoral like torture are now justifiable for the greater good. Bush has refused to sign legistlation that would restrict torture.

While most of us could agree on what would be ethical behavior, there are those who will always feel that only they can determine what is ethical and are always justified in their actions.

Not true. I knew someone whose house was robbed while they were out. The police officers were shocked at the arsenal of guns and rifles stolen from a locked gun cabinet that were in the house. There was enough to outfit a small gang.

Having a gun only helps when you are ready and don't accidently shoot the wrong person because you aren't able to distinguish a criminal from an innocent person at the time. After all if everyone had guns and a few where shooting them, would you know coming on the scene who started it?

For the Celts, the first tunnel is along the mountains southeast of the goblin village. There is a message when you find the entrance near pillars. This leads to a spot inside the Roman fort valley. Go south and then east along the mountains towards the Fort to find the second entrance near a pillar. There are two spots that fit the description. Just watch for patrols.

The Romans get told that the path is entered from the storeroom where the uneven boards are.
