The Fort Dranlon Swamp Goblin quest involves endless circling the swamp terrain. There is only one at a time and he appears most often to the south of Fort Dranlon along the coast and sometimes to the east. Try to have something else to do since it can take an hour or more of real time to finish this quest. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

You don't even have to consciously do something to have the subconscious act without the conscious control. I used to walk the same path between buildings in college that when I left the library and was thinking about a problem, my body would walk without me controlling it to reach a destination. The problem was that the destination wasn't the one I had set out on, but one that I could go to from the library. The thing is repetition to lodge the idea in the brain so that you can do it without conscious control or knowledge that you are doing it. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Murders north of New Formello is about day 50. Orb of Thranli quest is supposed to be about day 110, but you can get it after doing the Alien Slime and Roaches quests. Tower of Magi quest is about day 180. This is the only one to really worry about since you have enough time to do the others. It's possible to finish before this happens. Any chance that you will release BoR as a Mac only version as incentive for the rest to convert? Except for a few minor glitches it worked fine. The unidentified items could be identified using the character editor. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

They're all about the same for difficulty. It's a matter of figuring out what to do as you play and what you should do with your character(s) to make game playing easier. Now going back to the earlier games in a series after playing the later games may seem harder since the game engines aren't as well developed. Chipottle is faster than McDonald's and was once owned by them. So I consider them fast food or maybe upscale fast dining. Forgot Long John Silvers for seafood. A little heavy of the frying but you can get fish without the batter. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Search near the nest since you may have kill the thahd already and not stopped to pick up the stone. There's nothing much beyond the gate. Just a bunch of hostile Shaper shades and their loot. Jeff made it so there is one less nutrient than servant minds in need of them. quote:This is an unreleased Blades of Avernum scenario where a single character moves through randomly generated dungeon levels in search of the Amulet of Yendor as in Rogue-like games. This version doesn't have all the features that you see in other Rogue games like magic shops where you can sell and buy goods. Maybe in the later versions. I can't see why it's having problems in Windows. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

I mostly like Chipottle, but will eat at Taco Bell to save money. I like Arby's, but they keep removing the items that I like and they ruined a great fish sandwich by making it like McDonald's. McDonald's is at least consistently bad compared to Burger King and Wendy's. Whataburger used to be better, but the last few times I didn't care for it. Subway is okay, but except for having some control on the ingredients isn't usually worth the effort. Greasy Tony's wasn't bad, but I don't know if it's still around and it was only in Tucson and somewhere in New Jersey. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

It appears that the unsettled lands in the areas near Fort Emergence are controlled by the Empire, but inhabited by Avernites. The Empire never gives up control of anything they get. Empire traders come down to the caves for the same reasons all other businessmen do, cut out the middlemen to increase profits. Avernum 5 goes into it more, but basically there are certain items that are available in the caves that can be sold for a major profit in the Empire. By going directly to the source they can better control the supply and prevent rivals from being able to cut into their trade. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

It's probably easier to use an older save. Killing people outdoors causes negative reprecussions and you miss most of the quests. There might be a cheat code, but I couldn't find a reference using search or the hint book. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Time to get off the 'Net and live in a cave. You gave up most of your rights long ago. I never joined Facebook or any of the other social viruses out there, but there's more information about me out there than I wish. That's why almost all of you don't have my real name. It minimizes the ease of tracking what I say here to the rest of my information. I'm not a Google away. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Avernum 5 does give you two sides for a change. Support the old evil Empire (Darkside Loyalists) or the new more enlighten evil Empire (Empress Prazac). Either way you get to kick around worms in "self defense." Avernum 6 - your a peasant conscipted into the war, now pick a side. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Jeff will probably upgrade them in his "spare" time. From his remarks he will remake the series some day. Maybe we can convince him to drop that whole Vahnatai debacle from the remake of Avernum 4. Having the shades disrupt Avernum would make more sense for the Darkside Loyalists since it divides an enemy while they grow their base. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Jeff hinted that it might be a new world. The other thing he said was he was looking at 3D game engines, but whether he will go that route isn't certain. I doubt he will commit himself until he's working on Avernum 6 because by then he will have started to outline the plot. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

Alan King while in a hospital poured his apple juice in his urine specimen jar. When his nurse looked at the sample and mentioned it was a little cloudy, he grabbed it and said, "Maybe it'll be better after going through again" and drank it. It's okay as treasure depending how early in the game you do it. However once you do it, Shaydar is always hostile and cheat codes won't fix it. With that warning, first you need Anama rings either by joining or buying them from the Thieves' Guild. Then the treasury is on the upper floor of the Temple in Shaydar behind a secret door in the south east. Then a few traps, some monster guardians, and fight your way out of a hostile city. The aren't a major military force or that was the image that they were trying to project by pretending to be a trade mission. Let's see, a three ship trade fleet with many mages. Hmmm.
