What a long strange trip... in General

Life has changed significantly for me as well since joining SW. I went through three years of school, lost some pets, got some pets, and moved to a new home after 22 years.

So many things have changed about SW, and so many remain the same. I was sad to see some people were gone, including TM, but it's nice to see most of the familiar faces are still here,

Actually, a geneforge style MMORPG would be much more interesting than an avernum one. You could choose at the beginning to join either the shapers or the rebels as a player and get involved in trying to destroy the different sides.
Sounds like World of Warcraft.

I would have also said none of the above.

It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Synergy. Congratulations on your achievement. A Masters is quite a bit of time and work.

I remember when 5000 was thought of as a very high member number, or maybe still is.

I don't see why people any thought into member numbers. There are people with very low numbers that no one has heard of, and people with higher numbers that everyone knows.

Add me to the list of people that prefers Exile graphics to Avernum's. Anyone that hasn't played though BoE scenarios is really missing out. Didn't get into it since we were asked to specifically compare Avernum to Geneforge.

I'm not too focused on graphics, so I don't mind Avernum's too much. A4's graphics pretty much killed the game for me. I can't stand the Geneforgish feel in an Avernum setting.

Exile should have been included; though the storyline is the same most aspects of how the two series are played and feel are very different.

I really prefer Avernum's (not A4) graphics, interface, dungeons, monsters, spells… to those of Geneforge. Avernum also leaves more options for scenarios than Geneforge does.

Wanted to stop in and see who was still around, and how everyone is. Probably wont post a ton, but I'll read through the threads more often.

I moved about a year ago, and after a family member got sick I had to stop school for a while. I do intend on going back to school when able. For the past several months I've just been working, and there has been a lot of construction done on the house, which has taken a good amount of my attention. We also have four new puppies, so they've been keeping me busy as well.

I left those particular people alone. I didn’t really need anything, and would rather leave them alone if possible. Also, it didn't look like they had anything all that valuable.

I graduated high school five years ago, and then took a couple years off to work and do other things.

I won't be graduating college for another two years, but since summer is a short quarter I get a break for the next three months.

The only exercise I really get is yoga and walking the dogs, and lately I've taken to letting the dogs play in the yard instead of walking.

Items to hold on to in Geneforge Series

There are, however, several duplicates of most items. I usually leave everything I find in piles by town entrances, and when I run out of cash I sell the items that I have a lot of.

Honestly, I played the first time through without forging anything and sold everything in sight.
