If I manage to dredge up my lost scribbles in a word document relating to the beta-testing, I'll be sure to send them right on over. Unfortunately, it has been quite a while, so who knows, I may just have to run through it again.

Just to point out that the Terminal and some fun use of the sudo command can pretty much override anything that you throw at it; then again, what would the fun be in breaking through the security measures?

Except for the fact that the two-handed one would have a greater maximum damage, I can't see why one would not go for the one-handed version. With a free shield arm, they could equip the miracle shield (or any other super strong defensive shield), and the 2AP and evasion is always nice.

Average game completion time in Geneforge Series

Since I have yet to purchase Geneforge 3, I have been wondering, and those who have finished the game can answer this for me: On average, how long did it take you to beat the game, and on what difficulty levels? Having beaten the demo in about 3 hours on torment, I am concerned that, while there are indeed five islands to explore, how much more does registering really add in playing time?

Just wondering if it would be feasible to incorporate the shop without having to use the level raiser. I sometimes enter the HLPM to offload my items or identify certain things I have picked up in other scenarios, yet it is impossible to buy say, items equivalent to one's level unless they raise themselves to said level in the HLPM.

Edit
Hmm, now that I think of it, since you set the utility so that the shops can be called only once, for this to happen the player would have to be given the option to call the shop when they entered the scenario or somesuch.

Just wondering here, did you actually purchase the higher spells? I can't tell if you have from what you have said, so maybe you can tell me if you have. Otherwise, maybe you can further elaborate on the situation for your party.

IIRC, there is another secret corridor to the northernmost section of the building you are in, which continues leading you towards Stalker. From what you have listed about your characters, you should not encounter too much heavy opposition as long as you don't exit into the main area of the rebel compound. If you're still having difficulty, you might want to try hanging back more in combat if you aren't already doing so, so that your magic users can help aid for a further duration before the enemy even reaches your two stronger frontline characters.

Oh, and I think you'll find that lightning spray will greatly help you in this area, so quenching some energy elixers when needed could change the outcome of the battle considerably.

I would have to agree with your character trait ability since it can create characters that are a struggle to keep alive just on their own. It adds another element of difficulty, even if the experience gain is exorbitantly high. Who knows, someone could create a scenario that provided extra challenge based on the overly traited character.

Not to shoot down your idea here, but most programmers would prefer to use their own scenario ideas since they have more of an interest in what they are creating. That's not to say that someone won't take you up on your offer, but you are probably better off asking for help on learning how to use the editor to create your own scenario. Either way, here is hoping that you do decide to learn to use the editor and create a good scenario for the community here to enjoy.

Currently, Isaac's 3D editor is only available for Mac, since he wrote it for Mac, yet there are people who have been working on, though no one as yet has (as far as I know) translated any large portion or the editor.

Heh, I may not have anything greater than a dialup that runs at nearly 60Kbps (I never figured out why, it merely receives more data than it should :) ) but between my two older macs and my G5 that I bought, I managed to shell out enough to have one TB overall, alas, too bad I cannot use it as a raid array :) .

You can still complete ZKR even if you do not make it to fort at the end before the time limit. The difference lies in that fact that, when you do arrive there, the town will be destroyed and you will have to fight your way to the exit on the right-hand side through slith warriors and mages. Lacking the battle and the lack of a reward since you took too long, there is no truly horrible consequence of being too slow :) .

That's a pretty much standard thing that can occur in BoA, it happens when statistics reach their maximum, following which, if that statistic is increased again, it will trigger a reset to 0. A better response to this question has already been given here: BoA Win - Doesn't like max stats for some reason

Read Jay Toader's message for a succinct answer to your question.

Kelandon's wonderful utility is actually a BoA scenario, so put the entire HLPM folder into the Blades of Avernum Scenarios folder, and then take your party and enter the HLPM as if it were any other scenario from the scenario selection screen within the game.

Rank in General

First off, this should probably be moved under General, but as to your question, when your referring to rank, do you mean your member #? If so, perhaps it was just a problem with your monitor at the time? Perhaps it's just me, but I can't recall ever seeing an orange line under well, anything on the boards. Not very helpful, but perhaps you could be more specific so those that could help you further would have a better understanding of the problem.

Edit: Realized that I meant Tech Support in the event that it is truly an issue :) .

Silly Request (to Jeff Vogel) in Blades of Avernum

I definitely concur with your feelings on the situation Imban, when I had first noticed the lack of the Knowledge Brew it was quite a let down. The late game power that a party with a large sum of cash and valuables that would be bartered to purchase potion ingredients just for the sake of upping stats that could cost into the twenties and thirties in skill points was a great benefit. It should still be a part of the gameplay because, as I see it, the option should at least be available to use for parties that want to buff their characters with something other than mindless fighting for a few measly points by the time a party reaches level forty-five. It just plain makes sense. :)

Learning spells doesn't work in Blades of Avernum

I was under the impression that there weren't any available level three spells in VoDT, unless I missed something, which of course is possible. However, what I was wondering is, where are these level three spells that you found in the dungeon(s), and which ones? You may just need more levels of rune reading to decifer the spell book or tome.
