Sliths, all the way.

The Nephil vs. Slith thread was about a year and a half ago and reached at least 20 pages. I think that it might have been continued from elsewhere too.

Several billion years ago, a large rock slammed the hell out of the Earth. A large portion of the Earth broke off, and eventually, due to gravity, both hunks of rocks became spheres. Since was one smaller, it started to orbit the larger.

Where are my keys?

We did have one up to about a year(?) ago. It caused too many problems so it was removed.

edit: Though this does sound like someone's reincarnation...not that many people know about GIFTS.

To address a statement made previously, there wasn't a coalition in the recent invasion, at least compared to the Gulf War. This time, it was just the US, some reluctant Brits, and a few countries who said, "Yeah, you can use your own airbases to fly bombing missions on Iraq from."

Tim. Bob. Both short, unexciting names. I was a Tim too, I should remember my own name, even if it was only for a short time.

Were you ever a Bob in that whole fiasco? I also seem to remember you having a German phrase for a name.

I agree with that. It might be because we both played E3 before A3 so A3 seems a little repetitive. Also, as someone else mentioned, Nethergate is more concentrated where as the A3 is sprawling. After trawling about in A3 for a few hours, you've already seen all of the graphics in the game.

That's why I said a "GOAL of gamma rays". It will be a long time before we can do those.

And zips are floppies, just larger/higher quality ones. If you don't believe me, open one up. Also, just like normal floppies, zips corrupt far too easily.

Whoever is selling that good of a computer for that cheap is either stupid or already rich.

Their raids are well documented since the Norse were particularly found of raiding coastal monastaries and monks tend to keep good notes.

But we are doing that now...blue lasers. Next we will move up with a goal of gamma rays. The problem isn't storing stuff, it's getting the energy to run the lasers. Each step costs many times more than the one previous. At the moment, to get the energy to create a gamma laser, we would have to detonate a powerful nuclear bomb. I think you can see the problem in this.

But if there is a god, we can never be truly independent since that god would be able to influence us and the world(or else they wouldn't be a god).

One good thing about data storage technology, more and more blue lazer media is coming out. That mean we can store more in less space than with the old red lazers. But blues cost a hell of a lot more and use many times the energy that reds do.

Anyone who watches the series knows that Kirk would win that fight any day. Cause unlike Picard, Kirk actually gets into a phsycial fight in almost every single episode. Not to mention Kirk seems to almost never miss a shot.[/QUOTE

You must have missed the epidsodes where Picard kicks Reichert's butt at phaser practice and we all know the Reichert can beat Kirk any day. There is also First Contact where Picard shoots up a fair number of Borg. And no, I am not as big a Trekkie as I sound.

There is a speed barrier that everyone seems to be forgetting, the speed of Light(good old c, 2.998 x 10^8 m/s). Unless we make a giant leap in science and technology, connection speeds are going to level off. The same is true of processor speeds. There is only so close the wires can be. Already, the electrons are hopping about and teleporting themselves. There isn't much we can do to stop it yet either, unless we start making larger chips again.

Russia was named for the "Rus", who were Vikings who traveled in from eastern Scandinavia. A Emperor of the Byzantium in Constantinople used Viking mercenaries as bodyguards(because he couldn't trust anyone else).
