To have absolute right and wrong, there must only be one true god, one true religion. I highly doubt there is such, since religion is created by man and is defined differently for each individual.

Bush's intelligence isn't what truly pisses me off. We have had stupid presidents before and we can live with them. What rattles my cage is the Administration's active policy of concealing information or warping innocuous intelligence information into threatening dangers. They have been doing this since 9/11 whether it is information on the number of people held indefinitely without charge, the secret trials, or the "secret" evidence that only the AG has access to. The most recent occurence is about Iraq. The man seems determined to lie about anything to distract the public from the horrible job he is doing.

edit: No, I didn't vote for Nader, probably because I was 15 at the time. I would have though.

It is often supporting the lesser of two evils. Democrats and Republicans are both leaning on the ideological fence, they are just on opposite sides. I classify myself as a liberal, but I support Democrats because I would rather have them instead of Republicans.

I don't worry about a big gov't, I worry about our big military. To protect your citizens is one thing, to enforce your will on another people, another culture, is quite another.

It's not Microsoft which owns the gov't, it's the oil industry.

I doubt the Russians would attack Finland for the hell of it. At least not their present gov't that is. Russia's economy hasn't been good for years. The gov't simply doesn't have the money to take over Finland and deal with the consequences of said aggression. It wouldn't be worth it to them.

I love my country, but fear my gov't.

I agree with Alorael in that the Fourth is a time to celebrate the good things about America, but it also reminds us that there are many things that could be made a lot better.
