We left Afghanistan because Iraq was becoming more of a priority with the threat of WMDs (which may or may not have existed; Saddam wouldn't tell people if he had them and certainly wouldn't leave them out in the open for everyone to see.

You must understand that we still need to keep soldiers in Iraq because the country is still largely unstable. Since we've already gone in, took down Saddam's regime, and had elections, we may as well finish what we started and give the new democracy a strong foothold in stability as the insurgents are cleared out. You'll have to agree that Iraq is both a better place to live and less of a threat to other countries without someone like Saddam Hussein ruling.

Finally, I'd just like to say that Bush bases much of what he does on religion because that's what he believes is right. If you choose not to follow his religion (I'd encouage following it though), I can't really stop you and neither can he. But since he finds confort and leadership in God, he bases his Presidency on that. That's all I'll say there.

Oh well? That must stink pretty bad. But at least you're not too bitter about it. That's good.

How about just "Wow, you look good!" Used randomly spaced over a few weeks in different variations, it should word fairly well.

You do that. Spiderweb's been in my favorites since, uh, since I joined or even a little before, I think.

There is also the fact that one can curse without using cuss words.
I agree. I'd just like to say that it might sound better just to say, "You're very beautiful." You know what I mean?

I wouldn't say the pollution from present-day industries 'threatens life on a massive scale'. The tsunami a while back, now that threatens human life, but certainly not industrial pollution, on a massive scale anyway.

I know that coal and fossil fuel burning is not ideal because of the greenhouse gases (ie sulfur dioxide) it releases into the atmosphere. But what other option do we have? We could use solar power, but that's expensive to collect and not sufficient for our energy needs. Wind power? Sure, but once against, not sufficient. Nuclear power? Oh, well I guess we can rule that one out because it polluted with fish-killing radioactive waste but mostly because Bush supports it. :P

But nuclear power and any other options possible are what we're going to need to use in the future when coal and fossil fuel reserves become depleted. And for many years, not one new nuclear power plant has opened. Not one. I'm guessing that atmospheric pollution with greenhouse gases is preferable to radioactive waste. Am I correct?

And then we can get to global warming. Obviously, it will not be long before we turn the Earth into another Venus and wipe off life from the face of the Earth. While global warming is a fact, I think it is often an overrated fact. Evidence shows that the Earth is in a natural warming phase through the interglacial period after the last ice age. Does pollution speed this up? Yes. Enough to permanently change the Earth's climate and kill people on a 'massive scale'? No.

Oh, no, look! Look at that! That industry is... ...polluting  ! Make them pay! They're killing all the animals; destroying our environment! Fine them! Now! Make them stop polluting!

*company goes out of business; unemployment goes up a little more and that product now costs more*

The tower of Magi seems to be a pretty weird place. There's also a square of terrain that you can't get into, even though I tried all the walls for secret passages. It's not like Jeff you just leave that black.

I don't think I was ever able to get into that room.

There's 5 baseball teams alone in California. Let's see, the Dodgers, Angels, Athletics, Giants, and Padres. Right. A lot more other teams, too. It wins by a long shot.

It was the politics thread we had just before the elections that killed my karma. It was me and GIFTS (anyone remember him?) vs. everyone else. We supported Bush, while they supported Kerry, and everyone has hated me since, because I just don't seem to agree with anyone else on anything. :P

Yeah, that too. We have no professoinal sports teams in Montana. Not even one. In fact, the closest are as far away as Porland, Seattle, Denver, Salt Lake, and Minneapolis. We're kind of out in out own little world.

Rating people with two accounts is cheating, board style. However, I'll bet I've been the victim of that many times, especially with people like Djur. :P

Hmm, do you think the world should just gradually start using one universal language, or are there instrinct advantages to the diverse languages of the world? It makes sense that everyone should just have to learn one language and then be able to communicate with anybody around the world.

I wish I could watch the playoffs, but we only get one channel at my house, and that's NBC. They used to cover the "NBA on NBC," but not anymore, or at least not on my station. :(
