83 for me. Would have been higher if it weren't for a fondness for wine. Posts: 2862 | Registered: Tuesday, October 2 2001 07:00 |

According to that Life Expentancy "Game", I will live to the ripe old age of 87, unless I do something stupid like join the army. However, if I was a girl, I would live to 94! I mean - 7 years difference! There are a couple of factors in play as regards the differing lifespan of the sexes. Men have a spike of deaths in young adulthood due to accidents and suicide, and they also tend to develop cardiovascular disease at an earlier age (probably due to a mixture of dietary and hormonal factors). -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Hormonal factors I've heard about, but dietary? What? Doesn't a couple having a home dinner eat the same food? Or is there something else implied that I haven't picked up on? EDIT: Oh, maybe you mean drinking beer and eating pork rinds (ew) while you're watching the football? I fiddled a bit with things that I was on the fence about or could easily change. 87 at worst, 94 at best. Though I think that the question about a person's family health was incomplete and not very representative. What if a person's parents has health problems that aren't cardiovascular? And shouldn't 2 or more family members with cardiovascular problems affect more then 2 years? -------------------- "Even the worst Terror from Hell can be transformed to a testimony from Heaven!" - Rev. Hmm... how come we both thought to post the same link at the same date, Spring? Whatever... According to Deathclock I am going to be 83 years old. :) Spring, do you smoke? And did you sign the right BMI? -------------------- So, as the great Groxy, I have come back to be served by goblins. quote:I'm not sure if that's true. At least not in Sweden. In sweden, it's three times more women smoking than men. And the number of women and men drinking is almost the same; compared, 20% more men drinks than women. Of course these numbers change with country, state and culture. In Arabia it's a shame and according to religion, wrong to drink and therefore the per cent of drinkers are less, which of course is good for the general health. :) -------------------- So, as the great Groxy, I have come back to be served by goblins. The Deathclock put me at 79, but all it asked was my age, weight, BMI, and if I smoke. I prefer TM's link, as it said 94 :P -------------------- Nena Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |
