Nioca, I'd love to get into a discussion about the Sanctuary Wars with you, but it's futile. Unlike the War of Krizsanian Unification, this is pretty vague. Between Meineke's Plagues, the White Crystal Shards, the outcome of the Great Game, the Nexus portals, the Dominion, the Anama, you, me, ET, the Looters, the Thieves, the Order of Krell... Well, you get the point. We both agree that you get pushed out of Karnold, but beyond that, but anything more specific get's hazy. Anyways, either the Dominion, me, you, or even possibly ET would unite Valorim. Valorim marches into warring Pralgad, and then sails into whatever state Aizo is in, before liberating Vantanas.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that there'd be a lot of uncertain warfare that would go on before Valorim had a clear cut winner. A lot of uncertain war. So, I don't see a real way of picking Valorim's winner. In Avernum, only one guy's actively participating, but in Valorim... I suppose I'd give this to ET. With Exiled non-humans flooding the Honeycomb, he wouldn't have much to worry about from that direction, and could build his power elsewhere, in a frictionless environment. He'd invade Valorim eventually, and take our war-weakened countries as he pleased. But then again, the Dominion has a lot of pent up power...

We could pull a TM and have some wave of foe destroy everything again, this time for sure. Grah-Hoth's triumphant return, (remember his cult?) the Darkling Sliths, Vahnatai, Rakshasi, the Gods, Americans, just pick your poison.

So, the Avernum RP is currently dead. The way I see it, we have two options.

1) Try to jump start it again. Basically, we all attempt to get it going again.

2) We conclude it, and make a conjoined concluding post or two (I say two, since it might be more practical to split it so that Avernum and the Surface have separate concluding posts).

Thoughts?

1. No. The second time got a worse reception than the first time, so I doubt the third time would make it off the ground. It took so much just to get to this point, and starting again would just be plain laborious. However, if by "jumpstart" you mean post something in the thread, that'd be fine.

2. This will probably be best. We can discuss the endings in this thread. Here's my view, basically:

Avernum: The Domioners get the portal going to the Tower of Magi ruins, and as the Hunters conquer, non-humans start going down in hordes. The twisting passages of the Honeycomb, the cursed realm of the Mertis Spiral, blah blah blah, all become the Dominion of the Free or whatever, with the Tower Colony as the capital. More and more non-humans pour through the portal, and eventually battles with over the Great Cave and Eastern Gallery commence. Almaria is devastated, and the Silvarians are forced to cut the bridge. The Lady takes the NE, battles over Lake Avernus, eventually the Lady wins after tricking the non-humans, blah blah blah.

Surface: Vantanas struggles to unify, fighting hordes of demons and rakshasi. Hunters win the War of Krizsanian Unification, and shift attention northwards. The Great Game of sabotage, subterfuge, spying, stealing, and smashing continues between the Sanctuary and Hunters, culminating in war. The Dominioners give the promised aid, and soon the Sanctuary is forced to flee into Northern Valorim through the Troglo castle, the passage being sealed by magic behind them. Hunters and Dominioners negotiate a line of demarcation, and Softport is liberated. Maybe an invasion of Bigail, battle of Lorelei after that, I don't know. Either the Hunters, Sanctuary, or Dominion rally enough forces to unite Valorim, and then start marching into the Blackcrag Pass, invading Pralgad. From there, world falls like dominoes, from Pralgad to Aizo to Vantanas.

A few days ago I thought of a Geneforge RP, in the time between G3 and G4. That'd probably make a good RP, but we should hold off on that for a time.

Most powerful camp in Geneforge 4: Rebellion

Of the ones presented, it's a toss between Khima-Uss and Poryphra. In Poryphra, there was all sorts of wiggling around to thin the populace out before the final fight. But in Khima-Uss, you get swamped with Cryodrayks... that can be Strong Dazed and Dominated/Charmed (Whichever's higher, can't remember) to kill each other. After that, the only challenge is killing the Drakons.

Eventually, I chose Poryphra.

Derenton was actually pretty easy, if done properly. The Aziraph camps are easy to get swarmed in, so just take your time there. Then there's the Safehouse, clearable while in Chapter Three, and Dillame/Rivergate, which I clean up on my way to the Forsaken Camp. Southforge, by the time you can attack it, is by far the weakest of the camps. Which leaves the Forsaken Camp, the hardest of them all.

All of the new suggestions since the necromancy, will undoubtedly. Here's why.

Unbound Spawner: "You are now in combat. Unbound Spawner starts making a Pointfire Unbound. Unbound Spawner takes 2,000,000,000,000 magical damage. Unbound Spawner continues making a Pointfire Unbound. *A few rounds later* Unbound Spawner is still working on that Pointfire Unbound. Unbound Spawner takes 1 physical damage, dies."

Full-Powered Geneforge: Unlikely, but possible.

Drakon PC: Jeff said so. You can only be a Rebel. Overpowered. Too arrogant. There are a plethora of reasons.

Sholai: They're normal people, just foreigners. Normal people get crushed by both sides easily.

Lordofdc: That is insanely obvious. You do things that support the Shapers, you probably have to take the Shaoer ending. Et cetera. In fact, I don't even think you stated anything that wasn't in Geneforge since the beginning.

Stronger Force: Stronger than the 'One Shaper One Army'? Nothing short of an army of invading super-Unbound could do anything like that to make a continental wide truce. Besides, the whole game has been arcing up in an epic for the final conflict between the Shapers and Rebels.

Yes. I endorse this project entirely, and I feel that such a book would sell well on the mystery circuit. Get busy writing.

The Two Universal Truths:

"All I know is that I know nothing." -Socrates

"I think, therefore I am." -Rene Descartes

Nothing exists, save myself. You may believe that you exist, but you have no ways of proving it. Everything you know is a lie, provided by stimulations in the brain. But you don't know that for sure. You know nothing. You don't exist.

For the purposes of sanity, I find it is best to conform to the flow. But keep the Truthes in your mind at all times. Even though your mind doesn't exist.

Collect twenty canisters to make it to the next level? Something like Subterra, with environmental problems that need to be solved to get the canisters.

Drayks? Not so much. Drakons? Only if they win. While there are plenty of Drayks/Drakons that want to fight, fight, fight, the Drakons were "madenned by their losses" and pulled into the Grayghosts, and the Drayks were mostly just commanding the Humans.

[b]Speculation:p

Not really. The Drakons stated that they would "Protect the weak ones in the Grayghosts" after sending out the Unbound. Weak ones = Drayks, Serviles, and Humans.

Lepus timidus: Your arguements are fail. Stop trying, you only make the Rebels seem worse to everyone with half a brain.

I want grenades. Of course they'd have to be Shaped rather than manufactured - like portable versions of mines. You chuck it a short distance at a spot on the ground, and the next turn, it severely damages everything nearby. Simple/ignorant creations don't know to run away from it. I guess it would do physical/fire damage.

IMAGE(http://img260.imageshack.us/img260/6996/grenadebv1.gif)

Is it me, or do I have a habit of going way too far to illustrate an idea?

Fairy. We've got one of them. It's called the tutorial pop-ups. "This is a dagger. It's for killing your enemies. Eventually, you'll be able to get weapons that can kill even bigger enemies. For now though, you can use this dagger."

Grenades = Throwing Crystals.

Xel'Raga: All of the screens are interactive. The little energy things in G4 move when you click, you have a Shaping platform in G3, acid drops come off the pointer in G2, and everyone knows about G1. The return of the messages, or just better interactivity, would be nice though.

So, who's killed first in E5? As you know, E5 is the end of the first, possibly only, trilogy, so Diki is likely going to kill everyone. Again.

Anyways, a few likely firsts:
-Emperor Tullegolar, for Treason
-Jeran Korak, for Arrogance
-Me, for trying to Profit off the War*
-Some random newbie
-Whoever's Scouting

*Just give War a Chance

Call for tough knife laws in Britain

What does that teach us?

Anyone planning to kill someone who can't get hold of a gun will find a knife. If they can't find a knife, they'll find something else.

It's easier to kill someone with a gun than a knife. Very personal. Takes mental preperation and all that. A lot of "casual" killers would be disillusioned if they had to stab someone to death, leading to a fall in murders. If only slightly, though still worth it. Sure, an inverse relation between shootings and stabbings forms, but there are would-be-killers who don't go to stabbings.

Pfft. Old news. Heard about it mid-January on the BBC. No one's going to war over something so small, with players that big. Kosovo's probably just going to get embargoed, blockaded, et cetera. Something like Palestine.

I'd like to add a final, closing note for my contributions. Gun control is important to me. My mother obtained her Master's at VT. My sister and brother-in-law both attended NIU, and the latter still does in fact. Still, I know our Constitution, and thus I will be fine with just regulating it as I've stated. This kind of stuff simply cannot be allowed to continue.

Ah, but serviles are hard to create. (Apparently more difficult than creations like roamers and battle betas.) That's why they are capable of reproducing naturally. Creating a bunch of serviles would take a long time. The drakons need the serviles and drayks and even human rebels to survive, otherwise the Trakovite ending wouldn't be an option.

Dikiyoba.

Just a small addition. Just because they can Shape more Serviles, doesn't mean the Serviles could do the intended job. These guys are highly skilled mechanics, probably from Derenton Freehold. Because that is where the Servile Mechanics in the Fens were from. Anyways, just because the Drakons make new ones doesn't mean that they are skilled in mechanics.
